Wow, y'all are so brave! Reminds me of my parents renovating an old farmhouse when I was very small. Your little boy is going to have some great memories, and you will eventually have an awesome house!

Krysta, being so organized and methodical is your biggest strength. I am exhausted watching you and wonder how, even during this extensive renovation, you remain calm and beautiful. Looking forward to coming videos.👍🙏

I think it's a dough board, not a cutting board. It would've been used to roll out pie crusts. My mother-in-law had one. She made excellent pie crusts.

Oops, I'm a little late to this one. How exciting! I love this! You never know what you'll. I love that you're saving the cutting board. Some wouldn't think twice about trashing it. I love that you found some old wallpaper, too. And, hardwood floor! Looking forward to the next update.😊

You re-purpose the cutting board as a back piece to a shelf system or just cut it for shelving. Or clean it up & put handles on the sides to use it as a serving tray. ❤

Yours is the neatest demo I have ever seen. It is refreshing to see such careful work. It looks like you can salvage a lot of the material if you want to. I like how you remove things from the area as soon as you take them down. Well done!

If somehow, you can get a picture of the outside of your house and have it lasered or printed and cut out on the cutting board, I think that would be a cool cool thing to have in honor of your home♥️🏡

    So exciting!
You are both so careful of your home, no ripping it down and throwing it everywhere. I loved the bits where you were talking thru your masks - Aliens on the job. 😂 I also loved your interest in the past as it was revealed layer by layer. It’s a long road ahead until you have the dream but it’s fun to watch you achieve it.🦘🇦🇺

new sub here about the cutting board....I would make a smaller cutting board and the part I would cut off put small legs on the corners and make a standing charcuterie board out of it, when not in use as a charcuterie board you can use it to display decor on or use it in your coffee station...they have such wonder small screw on feet made of wood on Amazon of all places, heck you could even use round wooden knobs that are used on cabinets if you want...that way you would use the whole board, that wood looked so beautiful....what a wonderful thing to save and keep using.

I always wondered what it looked like to remodel lathe and plaster! My boyfriend and I gutted our only bathroom and remodeled it and during the remodel someone once told me, if your relationship is strong enough to make it through a remodel, you can make it through anything! You guys can do it!

We know that thrill of uncovering original wood flooring! This is our third old house and we date it to the civil war era...we think. So far the only floor we had to replace was the kitchen because of so much water damage. We're doing our kitchen now, and we have uncovered a built-in pantry that was covered with a wall... layers of wallpaper....and the old, very large original cook fireplace (which was cemented shut😢). I would have loved to see of all the original iron works were still inside the fireplace....but it would have been too much demo. I have been searching for months for antique doors to go on the built in, and we found them! We had a contractor replace our porch and under the porch space were the original doors! ❤❤ Love your channel and your style!

This so takes me back 30 years when we moved our country church and made it into our home. All the gutting process of the plaster and lathe. So much work but when it's done the finished product is so worth all the work. Thanks, Jo

We had the pull-out cutting board in the house I grew up in. So many great functional things we have stopped building into our houses. I remember my mom making our sandwiches for school lunches on those cutting boards. I hope you find other great things, it's like a time capsule.

Me, the hubs, and all the kids gutted completely on our own as a family, an older 1979 house...it took us 3 months...the kids helped out after school and on Saturdays...that was 12 years ago! It was exhausting work... once we found out there was NO Asbestos, we could 'go at 'er!'... it did bond us together! But it was dirty and hard work! Found all sorts of things...that we had rather not have found!

It has really protected my new countertops. In a rush it’s always there in the ready no searching. Or put little legs on it an use as a large trivet when hosting. Keep up the good work your doing fantastic 😊
