I've just purchased this helmet and what can I say it's one hell of a excellent helmet. This is my first Shoei helmet and the build quality is outstanding, the comfort is outstanding, the soundproofing with earplugs is amazing. This helmet isn't heavy, it's an average weight. In my opinion it's better than the schuberth C3 Pro, as the Neotec 2 is more comfortable and has a better pinlock (an Evo 120, the best one on the market today). The cheek pads are free to size when fitting, unlike the schuberth where you have to pay for additional cheek pad sizes. I have just ordered the SRL too. If you buy this helmet you will not be disappointed. If you can't afford it arrange finance, it's a must have......
Sharp's testing showed the latch opened during impact 30% of the time. That means the first blow could pop your helmet open and then you could try to use your face to slow down. The worst part is that Sharp's testing is not even designed to try to pop the latch open, they simply drop the helmet and let it bounce back up in order to test the initial impact forces. In a real world crash scenario, the weight of your head and body pushing the helmet into the asphalt is going to further flex the helmet shell; this may lead to a much higher probability of the latch opening. Not even a 100% latch closed rating is sufficient with Sharp's current testing, but 70% is appalling. In order to properly test this mechanism, the helmet should be secured during testing in order to ensure the shell has flexed enough to test if the latches are able to free themselves. Perhaps have the helmet secured underneath and drop something like a large slab of concrete from above on different sides of the helmet. Test should include: Chinbar Center, Chinbar Center-Left, Chinbar Center-Right, Left Side, Right Side, Top
@danielg9657 I actually ordered that one while visiting a store and getting great feedback, but when I got home, I read some reviews and decided 70% is not enough secured for me and I canceled the order, too bad because I really liked it. Thank you for the information
So, now that the helmet had been out for last 3 years, how do the warranty work on these $700 helmets? Shoei says 5 years from purchase or 7 years from manufacturer date. Are they still making them brand new in late 2020 & early 2021? Am I going to pay $700 for 3 year old helmet with just a 4 year manufaturer warranty? How do the date of purchase warranty work in this case?
I have just purchased both the Neotec 2 with the SRL system and the AGV Sport Modular in matt carbon tri-color. Yes, the Shoei is definitely much heavier. However, the fit and finish of the helmet have a more robust feel to it. The integrated comms is great but can sometimes be a pain to start up as you have to depress the + and centre button simultaneously and with a glove, it can be difficult. I use the Shoei daily. I like that the fabric area is easy to wash and the leather bottom does not catch onto velcro parts of your riding jacket. The cons of this helmet are that for those moto vloggers out there, it is difficult to mount a gopro and mic to the chin area. Also, the ventilation is not very good despite claims of improvement. I hardly can feel it when I'm on the move with full vents opened. The AGV is great for Sunday rides. It can fit a Sena 20S base mount and is easier to mount your gopro and mic. It emulates a little of the Pista R (which I have too) and has great ventilation. However, with great ventilation comes great ambient noise. There's no two ways about it. The downside is that it doesn't feel as sturdy as the Shoei and certain parts of it feels cheap. I guess part of the reason is because it is Made In China vs their Corsa R and Pista R range which are made in Italy. Overall, both are good modular helmets. I use more of the Shoei because it feels more like a workhorse and something that can withstand bumps and scratches from rough handling. The AGV gives a little more of the bling vanity factor and gives me the feeling I have to take better care of it.
Rex Chan this is a really great, and helpful review. Can you tell me how you fixed the SENA 20S to the AGV? Were you able to clamp it to the edge, or did you have to stick it using an adhesive pad?
Best part about your reviews Anthony is your honesty. Its clear that your objective and not taking a hand out from any manufacturer . Another great review. Unbelievably I am trying to decide between a Neotec 2, GT Air 2 and a Spirit 3 I ride a 1200GS but just love the Spirit 3 designs.
I have just bought one and fitted the Sena mesh system not too difficult but if you do not want the system you have a ready made cash stash in the rear housing so never get caught out when travelling, in UK a £20 note is easily stashed under the foam insert enough for a couple of litres or a burger without trimming the foam..
I returned mine. Very comfy on the inside but it had a whistle at speeds about 40mph which would stop if I looked up. It was pretty loud too. My 3/4 helmet was quieter.
I just bought a wine red yesterday (06/14/2021). First ride was tonight. Fit is perfect for my headshape. I love the vents. The faceshield is more easily removed than my GT Air II. I also have a J-Cruise II. Shoeis are just too expensive but if you want the best, they are the only choice.
If purchasing Neotec 2 for the Sena SRL, be advised... Sena SRL Mic / Voice does not work with Freewire on Harley Boom systems. After some run around with Sena, their tech support acknlowledges this is a known issue. Its unfortunate since I purchased 2 Neotech 2's from Revzilla and 2 Freewires ; for rider and passenger.
I had a Neotec in large and it fit me great then I upgraded to the Neotech II and got a large as well, I was wrong to assume it would fit the same. I had to go down to a medium and add the 39mm pads to get a perfect fit.
THANK YOU for addressing the concern I was having while deciding between the C3 Pro and the Neotec II... with the SENA integration, it will be difficult to mount a third party communicator like a Chatterbox or Sena 10s if you opt not to get the SRL.
just got one today, but to anybody who's thinking about getting one go try one on first . i'm a normal size med my head is 57cm and i bought a size small it fits nicer than the medium which felt loose. also fitting the visor back on the helmet was a right fiddle after fitting the pin lock . also the visor is so easy to flick up or down unlike my nxr2
Picked one up just this week and I must say having a 23 1/2" head IMHO runs a bit large, I already stripped off all the decals and stuff so I can't return for a medium (just wanted it work) Revzilla tells me that a larger inside cushion will be available soon otherwise I'm glad I made the purchase Al
Anthony, you need to evaluate all lids (and especially the Neotec II), as a glasses wearer. The new all enclosed micro climate that Shoei create within this lid is good but as a glasses wearer, if you stop (even for a very short time), your glasses mist and no amount of airflow when moving again clears them. You are constantly lifting the visor to clear. It is a real pain. I had an Arai previously and you can have visor or face venting. On the Shoei it is only visor. Not great. Comm's unit is fantastic and features are good but boy is misting a pain.
Well it did that on my not so closed nolan n44 in very moist and cold area ( and sometime, it arrives like a bullet and its scary ) so i thinks the enclosure have nothing to do with
Other glasses wearing issues are pain on the sides of the head from the helmet pressing the temples into the skull and clearance above the glasses up front where the helmet can rest on top of the face opening.
Everyone take a Shot when Anthony he says “AGAIN”. I just bought this helmet and added the Cardo Black to it. Figment for the Cardo was not good as mentioned
Thanks! Did you get the open and close chin vent backwards? First day with helmet I came through a storm the vents were a little tricky but I was able to drive through the storm. As I settle watching this video and learning I had to slow down a minute and took a flash light on the bottom vent When pushed down I see light through the vent that might mean air would flow through there also. You are fast but remember you learned it first so you need to slow down a bit to help us learn.
Cool review and nice Z900. Love that bike! I have a GT Air. The speaker plugs fall out occasionally and I have lost one. It seems noisy. I have lost two breath guards riding with the visor open around town. A couple of questions. 1. Is the Neotech 2 quieter than the GTS Air 2? 2. Similar fit? I have an oval head. 3. Would you pick the NeoTech 2 or X-Lite 1004 for yourself? 4. Do the breath guards stay in? I wear glasses and struggle in the cold and wet with the GT Air and visor down, despite the pin lock. Thanks P
Excellent video and descriptions as always. I am a bit baffled why Shoei and Sena would pair what could be considered a decent mid to high end helmet with the Sena SRL (somewhat outdated reconfigured 20S) that does not offer their latest MESH technology? Thanks
After getting word on the new Neotec 2, I really like the new looks but agree the thought of 3rd party sets or transferring my Sena 20S, or other accessories like a GoPro is annoying. Think I'll pass and I agree I thought evolution might have cut the weight down too but a minor bump up doesn't help.
Anthony mentions the lighter HCJ RPHA 90. Yeah the HJC is lighter but that is achieved by being a noticeably more compact helmet, especially in the chin bar. The chin bar is so compact on the HJC that I can literally touch it with my lips if I make a fish face. Very claustrophobic feeling. With the Neotec 2 I have room to breathe and can make a fish face and my lips are still over a finger width away from the inside of the chin bar. Anthony failed to mention the two upper positions of the chin bar, one with a light detent followed by a heavier detent. I agree that the top vent, which is actually three positions (closed and two open positions) is harder to operate compared with the Neotec 1 or the HJC. Other differences between the RPHA 90 and the Neotec 2; the Neotec chin bar lock mechanism is a full 360 degree metal closure, while the RPHA 90 is 180 degree plastic and 180 degree metal. The Neotec 2 have a ratchet chin strap and the RPHA 90 has double d-rings (the USA version, ratchet chin strap in Europe).
Currently running a Schubie E1, so sick of my old Sena 20S losing electrical contact with the base in strong winds. It's that flimsy! This integrated system looks great, finally starting to see more helmets with more sophisticated integrated systems. Now, for Shoei to get my money: Release a modular dualsport lid to compete with the Schuberth E1 (give it a decent pinlock. The schuberth's pinlock barely works, and it casts disgustingly long lens-flares from car headlights) Have that internal sun visor and integrated Sena 20S EVO (make it anti-fog too!) Be under 1500g (seriously, the E1 is almost 1.7kg with my sena and a Hero Session mounted. It's atrocious.) Come on SHOEI, I am getting impatient with my Schuberth ;)
I'm not sure if Anthony got the weight measurement right. My Neotec is about 3.65 lbs in weight and i'm wearing a size M. But if that Neotec 2 weighs about 4.03 lbs without the comm unit, holy cow that is extremely heavy. I wouldn't want to carry that thing around.
Do you have a US-model Neotec? I believe the ECE version is lighter than the DOT model. I just weighed a DOT Neotec 2 in size medium at just over 4 pounds. I weighed a Neotec at 3.88 pounds. On the head, it feels lighter than it actually is. -DrewZilla
I bought a new Neotech2 I only have 1 issue may not being an issue with the chin bar up and locked I noticed if I jerk my head forward as if hitting a bump my chin bar comes down so if I want to ride with chin bar up I have to be prepared for that chin bar coming
Tried this on in my local helmet shop and was surprised at the fit. The reason? I'm definitely a long-oval head shape and traditionally am an Arai Signet guy. After my first modular, an LS2, I've tried three other LS2 helmets (their carbon-fiber full helmets and the Valiant modular) and, despite their and RevZilla's claim of being a long-oval fit, found them too short front-to-rear. But the Neotec 2 in size XL fit me perfectly with no forehead pressure point. Puzzling for sure as they claim an intermediate oval shape. Not in my experience! I'm looking for something a little more appropriate to a partial tuck riding position and wish I could find something with the same excellent fit.
Thought my next helmet would be a Schuberth C3 Pro, but could not fit my head. Tried the Neotec 2 and it fits me like a glove. Superb build quality too! I dont think it's too heavy at all, but its expensive AF 😅
Chano Christoffersen I have a big ass head. My mom and sisters call me milk dud head if that tells you anything 😂😂😂. Do u think this shoeI is good for big heads?
At 12:54 into the video you say the price is in the "mid sixes", meaning around $650. But your website has it listed for $699. Why 50 bucks more? Did I miss a sale in the few hours since you posted this video?
@@kazadventures AGV's chin bar stays closed almost 100% of the time according to SHARP'S tests. Isn't the whole point of a modular is to have a chin bar that will protect you?
Sucks i cant use my sena 20, i am pretty hard of hearing and use westone ac ear monitors to listen to the sena , this system has no jack to plug the westone in , guess my next helmet will be Schubert or RPHA
Sounds like the AGV has the best overall modular. Safer (ECE), lighter by almost a pound!! and nearly the same price. I would never buy a helmet that is only DOT, especially at this price point.
I've been using a Neotec II for a few years and like the fit, features, and overall quality but will never buy another Shoei for one reason: the jaw droppingly bad visor connection system. I can fully change an Arai or Schuberth visor in 20 seconds at least. The Shoei takes at least five minutes. It's incomprehensible to me that Shoei can't engineer a competent, easy to use visor connection system.
1: PLEASE do not have so much coffee before you do a RUclips video. 2: I tried out a Neotec 2 yesterday & had trouble closing the chin bar, despite fitting very well. It felt like something soft & rubbery, like a marshmallow, was getting trapped & it just got worse. I could only close it by using 2 hands! The shopa ssiatnt was puzzled, the helmet closed just fine when I took it off. I tried 2 others Neotec 2s in different colors & same size....same problem. Does anyone have any idea what's going on?
Is this going to fit tighter around my neck then the x14 ? I get a lot of wind noise coming up from underneath, Ive even purchased the bigger cheek pads and it still does it ..
Does the Neotec 2 address the side impact issues of the Neotec 1, it’s my understanding that the Neotec 1 used less EPS foam on the side to make it slimmer sacrificing impact protection, is this the same for the Neotec 2, perhaps this is where the extra weight comes from? Or is this an issue with all modular helmets? I’ve only used full face helmets and was thinking of making the change to a modular.
Hey Anthony - Neotec or Sport modular? Original Neotec had issues with water and leaked. Nervous to go back to Neotec but like the integration of the Sena vs sticking for the AGV...
The vents seem to have been improved to better keep water out, so I'm confident in the Neotec 2 if you do really want the integrated communicator. -DrewZilla
The main reason to get the Neotec 2 is if you want a high-quality modular helmet with an internal sun visor. The accommodation for the integrated communicator is a secondary feature. If you want a full-face (fixed chin bar) helmet with an internal sun visor, there's the GT-Air 2. If you don't need an internal sun visor and want a full-face helmet, then there are the RF-1200 and RF-SR. Only the Neotec 2 and GT-Air 2 can accept the integrated SRL communicator, though it's harder to mount other communicators on them. In that respect, the RF-1200 and RF-SR are more versatile. -DrewZilla
If you really want a modular helmet, I'd recommend the AGV Sportmodular instead. The Neotec 2 is designed for a really upright riding position, not a supersport. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/agv-sportmodular-carbon-helmets
Thanks for the reply. The only reason I'm looking for a modular helmet is because I wear glasses, and it's really hard to put them on when wearing an helmet. Any other options you could recommend?
If you want a modular for a leaned over riding position of a supersport, I only recommend the AGV. I wear glasses and only wear full-face helmets, generally Shoei and Arai. If you go with a full-face helmet, I recommend the Shoei RF-1200. -DrewZilla
I am considering the neotec 2 , but it kinda alarmed me with the comment about how if you dont go with the 'integrated sena system' thats it's more difficult to do. Now Sena has the 50s/50r which are seemingly hige upgrades. Would this helmet not be compatible with the new Sena? Like to know before I waste *700 on helmet, 500 on sena system* lol.
You can attach any universal Bluetooth Comm system to any helmet on the market with enough thought and elbow grease. Shoei designed this helmet to work with their SRL system, but you could just forgo those mounting points and connect up a 50 series unit on the helmet elsewhere. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to our Gear Geeks at cs@revzilla.com or 877.792.9455. Ride safe, -Pat
The Neotec II is longer than most other modular helmets and so is the best option for a premium modular. Otherwise, there's the LS2 Strobe. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/ls2-strobe-helmet-solid *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/ls2-strobe-zone-helmet *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/ls2-strobe-civik-helmet *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/ls2-strobe-hi-viz-helmet
I had have the opportunity to do a little ride with this helmet on my Goldwing, and sure this is a quit helmet, I had a drive with a Nolan , and man that was a ratling helmet
I have the Shoei J-cruise in medium. Just got the neotec 2 is medium also. The neotec seems bigger then my J-Cruise. Wondering if I should exchange it for a small. 🤔🤔🤔
You could try a small. Alternately, you could put a slightly thicker medium center pad in the Neotec 2 (MD 13mm instead of the stock MD 9mm). It also depends on the cheeks. You could go for a small Neotec 2 and then get a thinner small center pad if necessary. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/shoei-neotec-2-center-pad
I have a Shoei helmet and I always have a bad hair day when I take off the helmet. I use a helmet liner which helps a lot and a haircut that makes my hair short. I like this helmet. I'm going to have to try it out.
I have this helmet with SRL and it is sooo comfortable. However everyone I ride with is using Pack Talk. Can I actually use the pack talk bold with it. I realize it would have to be sticky mounted and pushed far back but will the boom mic still get to me? Thanks
Yes, you can definitely mount the PackTalk Bold on the Neotec 2. The boom mic is separate from the controller mount, so you can easily mount the boom inside the helmet behind the left cheek pad. You probably can use the standard clip mount too. -DrewZilla
The scorpion helmet chin piece flips all the way back out of the way and once its out of the way the face shield goes up and down . Once the shoei chin bar is up you can't lower the shield . Big mistake from shoei .
Stupid question, but what color is the helmet in the middle. Is that considered gray or silver? (I know the older model to the left is silver, but what about the new one in the middle?)
I love the integrated Sena, do not like modular helmets. I opted for the GT-Air, a 2017 model because I don't like the 2018 graphics, none match my bike.
I really like the looks of this helmet, but the difficulty of putting in a 3rd party com unit is a big turn-off. Likely to push me towards HJC RPHA-90 instead.
You can install other brands, if you're patient enough. We have 1 Sena SMH10, which we can not use with this helmet along with Cardo Freecom2 as a "ready fit" comm systems. That bring said, if you're really interested, you can install them, albeit in "undesirable location". My main gripe now is the price, at@$700 for a 3 year old model helmet??? Which by the way has 5 year warranty from day of purchase OR 7 years from manufacture date, whichever comes first, according to Shoei warranty. Either way we lose, unless they still manufacture brand new helmets today, at least within past 12 months.
Today I purchased the Neotec 2. I also tried the Schuberth C3 Pro, and C4. All excelent helmets, no doubt. But what made me to go for the Neotec 2, was the closing mechanism. I tried many times, but was never quite sure with Schubert, if it was locked properly on both sides in close position, or not. This particular feature was much better with Neotec 2 (Well, not perfect when compared with my previous 10 years old, a bit cheaper helmet.). Also the fully open position with Neotec 2 is perfect clear. By the way, I have read several opinions, that the C3 Pro is better option than the C4.
Yes there are lighter helmets at the $500 price tag and lower range but realize that the fit and finish and operation is miles apart. Every moving part on the cheaper helmets is so clunky the refinement just isn't there compared to the higher-end helmets.
Nice helmet I had one, but sent it back because you still cannot buy the intercom. Was told end of March beginning of April, then mid May and now end of May. Gave up so sent the helmet back to my dealer.
If you have a thin jawline, I recommend getting size small and then getting the thinner SM 5mm center pad (stock is SM 9mm). That gives you the thicker cheek pads of size small, while the thinner center pad gives you a slightly looser fit around the crown compared to the stock size small. If you have a wide jaw, then I recommend getting size medium and then getting the thicker MD 13mm center pad (stock is MD 9mm). That gives you the looser stock fit in the cheeks of size medium, and the thicker MD 13mm center pad gives a slightly tighter fit around the crown of the head compared to the stock size medium. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/shoei-neotec-2-center-pad *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/shoei-neotec-2-helmet
Don't buy this helmet if you want quiet, its no better than your average helmet. Its a BIG price to pay for a helmet, but getting it to reduce noise is not going to be one of the things that will do, everything else is nice about the helmet, I do think its over rated for a sales point due to the massive profit in sales. The other side is when guys buy the helmet at this price point, they also don't want to give negative feedback because they will feel hard done bye, with spending extreme amount of money on a helmet when they could have got a similar helmet for half the price. One major flaw with helmets, is when you buy a helmet and try it on your bike you cant take it back, so your stuck with it. RevZilla, don't say its a quiet helmet when its NOT, its misleading.
Does anyone have a trick to close the helmets chinbar while riding? I need to let go of the handle with both hands and really make sure it latches correctly. Sometimes it doesn't otherwise :(
Hi. I am a female, and just purchased the Shoei Neotec 2 Helmet. I am unfamiliar with the technical aspects of this helmet, and wanted to know what stereo components you'd recommend to purchase that's compatible with this helmet. Could you post a link to the EXACT component I need. Thank You. 😊
Can someone please tell me if this helmet is "quiet"?I have a Nolan x-lite 1003 now and want to change? The most important to me is being quiet as I suffer tinnitus. So I want a very quiet helmet to use in combination with earplugs.Thx up front for the advice
Few helmets brands actually measure wind noise-- Schuberth is the only one that I'm aware of. A buddy of mine just used a Neotec 2 on a recent road trip and liked it a lot, he said it was quiet-- but of course those experiences are subjective. Provided you invest in a premium helmet suited to your riding style, it will be on the quiet side of things. I highly recommend the Neotec 2 to that end. -Kraus-e
Just my opinion here but the choice to make the background the same color as Anthony’s skin tone was not good. Again just my opinion compared to the old design
Hadgerz if you are here for the gear then why are you spending time reading and complaining about my feedback comment. Revzilla management has thanked me numerous times for taking my time to give both positive and negative feedback. So step back and go watch some gear. Stop wasting your time and mine bitching about my opinions.
So what you are really looking for is someone to troll No gear videos Just entertainment for trolls Pretty sad for you that you have nothing better to do that complain about my opinion and try to bother me about it
If you're willing to mount it farther back on the helmet, it can probably be done. We haven't been able to test one ourselves unfortunately. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/shoei-neotec-2-helmets
Yes, the PackTalk BOLD will fit, though the controller will mount a bit farther back on the helmet. -DrewZilla *bit.ly/PackTalkBOLD_Neotec2 *bit.ly/Neotec_2
I recently found out that it is recommended most motorcycle helmets be replaced 3 years after purchase. If this is the case, why on Earth would anyone want to buy a super expensive helmet if it's only good for 3 years?
Shoei Helmets are warranted for 7 years from the date of manufacture or 5 years from the date of purchase, whichever comes first. As others have mentioned, the general rule is 5 years for helmets. -DrewZilla
I've seen the Cardo PackTalk successfully mounted on the Neotec 2, so any standard Cardo could be used. It's mounted just to the rear of the Sena notch. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/shoei-neotec-2-helmets *www.revzilla.com/cardo-systems
Unsure as to which HJC you are referring to, however this is likely a better question for our Gear Geeks rather than RUclips. Feel free to contact them at cs@revzilla.com for more help on the weights. Ride safe, Pat
Probably HJC RPHA 90 is what you mean? It's the closest to the Neotec 2 from Shoei. Yes, RPHA 90 is around 1500 lbs. and this is around 1800 lbs. But personally I wouldn't even notice the weight once I put the helmet on.
Was the noise too loud without ear plugs?
@@road_king_dude yes
So, now that the helmet had been out for last 3 years, how do the warranty work on these $700 helmets?
Shoei says 5 years from purchase or 7 years from manufacturer date.
Are they still making them brand new in late 2020 & early 2021?
Am I going to pay $700 for 3 year old helmet with just a 4 year manufaturer warranty?
How do the date of purchase warranty work in this case?
It's great to see Anthony again. Thanks RevZilla
Rex Chan great review . I have Neotec, need a workhorse since I commute daily. Gonna go Neotec 2
Rex Chan this is a really great, and helpful review. Can you tell me how you fixed the SENA 20S to the AGV? Were you able to clamp it to the edge, or did you have to stick it using an adhesive pad?

That white version looks really good. Shape of the drop down shade looks better and like the overall styling better.
I have just bought one and fitted the Sena mesh system not too difficult but if you do not want the system you have a ready made cash stash in the rear housing so never get caught out when travelling, in UK a £20 note is easily stashed under the foam insert enough for a couple of litres or a burger without trimming the foam..
Still running my Multitec. Love it.
Inner sun visor would be nice, for sure.
I returned mine. Very comfy on the inside but it had a whistle at speeds about 40mph which would stop if I looked up. It was pretty loud too. My 3/4 helmet was quieter.
Found this review just in time. Don't need a lightweight, just a flip up for my MT09 👍 Thank you RevTeam. We got the point 🙏
That's the one I want, but are out of stock at Revzilla. They actually barely have any in stock of any color.
Awesome. Great video. At £650 I needed you to go deep into the helmet. And you did! Thank you very much for posting.
Picked one up just this week and I must say having a 23 1/2" head IMHO runs a bit large, I already stripped off all the decals and stuff so I can't return for a medium (just wanted it work) Revzilla tells me that a larger inside cushion will be available soon otherwise I'm glad I made the purchase
Al
amacro11 thanks i have 57cm head and recommended size is medium but I float in the medium, small fits right
try thicker/thinner liner. it dialed in the size for me
"hey this Ant..." automatic thumbs up!
I use _Cat Crap_ or other anti-fog wipes on my glasses to reduce misting. -DrewZilla
Alright -- good to see you again Anthony. I feel younger already!
This new Neotec is soooo far above the Schuberth C4 in my opinion
Except for the part when 1/3 of the time the chin bar doesn't stay closed...
Thanks
P
Excellent video and descriptions as always. I am a bit baffled why Shoei and Sena would pair what could be considered a decent mid to high end helmet with the Sena SRL (somewhat outdated reconfigured 20S) that does not offer their latest MESH technology? Thanks
Awesome to see you back Anthony and I must say your coined phrase "watch this side and ride" is my favorite intro sayings.
Watch, decide, and ride.
RevZilla I like my version better. Lol
Watch, decide and ride!
Damn this is a comfortable helmet. Tried it against lots of others from AGV etc and this was miles above them and felt like an Arai.
Thanks for this Anthony. Doubts resolved.
Now, for Shoei to get my money:
Release a modular dualsport lid to compete with the Schuberth E1 (give it a decent pinlock. The schuberth's pinlock barely works, and it casts disgustingly long lens-flares from car headlights)
Have that internal sun visor and integrated Sena 20S EVO (make it anti-fog too!)
Be under 1500g (seriously, the E1 is almost 1.7kg with my sena and a Hero Session mounted. It's atrocious.)
Come on SHOEI, I am getting impatient with my Schuberth ;)
-DrewZilla
I know it has been few years since the review, but what so you think about the SHARP review? I find it disturbing
It`s worth it just to watch Anthony spaz out in the beginning!
Peter Q this
HHAHAHH I thought he left. I guess they realized he WAS Revzilla and got the wallet back out.
Ha! Perfect comment.
Peter Q haha
What is your head measurement in cm?
The AGV Sportmodular got high praise, this Neotec 2 more of a good effort. Fair summary?
Gary Walker Shoei neotec 2, more comfortable, quite and better build quality. AGV sportsmodular only wins in weight difference and styling
Happily had a Neotec (I) long enough that a new helmet wouldn't be too extravagant. If the II is quieter than the I - probably does it for me.
It's funny reading the auto generated captions at the beginning.
Sounds like the AGV has the best overall modular. Safer (ECE), lighter by almost a pound!! and nearly the same price. I would never buy a helmet that is only DOT, especially at this price point.
If you are a fan of cheap feeling plastic bits the AGV is your helmet.
I love my neotech 2 it is amazing!! I upgraded from a icon airflite It's wayyyyyy better
We haven't noticed a difference in the side EPS. This is generally an issue with all modular helmets though. -DrewZilla
Returned mine. Far noisier than everyone claims
-DrewZilla
Thanks... Keen on the AGV so gonna give it a go ;-)
Go for it!
Hi great review!! I am new to ShoeI, is the integrated system the only reason to get the neotec 2 over any other shoeI? Thank you.
-DrewZilla
RevZilla Thank you so much!!!
You're welcome!
Shoei are very expensive but absolutely worth it 👌
Loved the review.
Would this helmet be recomended for a supersports bike rider? Cheers
If you really want a modular helmet, I'd recommend the AGV Sportmodular instead. The Neotec 2 is designed for a really upright riding position, not a supersport. -DrewZilla
*www.revzilla.com/agv-sportmodular-carbon-helmets
That Sena integration is a deal breaker for me. I have a cardo. Shame. I was going to pick it up.
Wonder if they’ll ever make this in full carbon?
Next helmet im gonna buy!
What's the best modular helmet for long-oval head shape? I wear a Signet-Q now.
The Neotec II is longer than most other modular helmets and so is the best option for a premium modular. Otherwise, there's the LS2 Strobe. -DrewZilla

The LG modular is a very good helmet an dc fits my long oval very well. Very similar to the Neotec. I have both.
The problem is that they did not study nothing for a GoPro on top of your helmet like other fabrics are doing
Shoei's goal was to improve aerodynamics and reduce noise. Allowing for a GoPro would have contradicted that goal unfortunately. -DrewZilla
I had have the opportunity to do a little ride with this helmet on my Goldwing, and sure this is a quit helmet, I had a drive with a Nolan , and man that was a ratling helmet
Best Touring helmet... i love rpha90
-DrewZilla

@@RevZillaTHANK YOU!!!
I have a Shoei helmet and I always have a bad hair day when I take off the helmet. I use a helmet liner which helps a lot and a haircut that makes my hair short. I like this helmet. I'm going to have to try it out.
Also for those wearing glasses much easier to put on.
-DrewZilla
Captain Lutrell exactly!!!
The bottom of the vizier is annoying to look through if you open it a little wile riding.
The scorpion helmet chin piece flips all the way back out of the way and once its out of the way the face shield goes up and down . Once the shoei chin bar is up you can't lower the shield . Big mistake from shoei .
I'm liking the new set!
I saw the new back drop and I was hopeful to not hear echo. But no it still is there
Maybe not as bad
But still sucks to hear so much echo
Perfect video tutorial...thank you!!
Good review. Sounded more like a good review as opposed to just trying to sell me a product. Thx.
Love his intros
Stupid question, but what color is the helmet in the middle. Is that considered gray or silver? (I know the older model to the left is silver, but what about the new one in the middle?)
That's Shoei's "Metallic Anthracite." But if you want my opinion, the Matte Deep Gray is waaaay cooler. -Kraus-e
Thanks!!
You're welcome!
I love the integrated Sena, do not like modular helmets. I opted for the GT-Air, a 2017 model because I don't like the 2018 graphics, none match my bike.
Is it impossible to mount a Cardo PackTalk to this helmet or just not recommended?
No, it is not impossible. It's just a bit trickier than installing on other helmets. -DrewZilla
Just ordered a white one 2 day
I really like the looks of this helmet, but the difficulty of putting in a 3rd party com unit is a big turn-off.
Hi bud. What would u prefer. This or the Schubert C4?
Can you install different color shields or does just the clear fit? Thanks!
The compatible CNS-3 shield is only available to us in clear. I believe other tints are available in Europe. -DrewZilla
@@RevZilla thank you!
Nice helmet I had one, but sent it back because you still cannot buy the intercom. Was told end of March beginning of April, then mid May and now end of May. Gave up so sent the helmet back to my dealer.
Small 55-56 cm Medium 57-58 cm I am 56,5 cm. Should i go for the Medium?
-DrewZilla

-Kraus-e

I recently found out that it is recommended most motorcycle helmets be replaced 3 years after purchase.
If this is the case, why on Earth would anyone want to buy a super expensive helmet if it's only good for 3 years?
Joseph Murray I've always heard to replace it every 5 years.
Replace helmets every 5 years, not 3.

So the lady at the HD dealership was feeding a line of guff or didn't know what she was talking.

Shoei Helmets are warranted for 7 years from the date of manufacture or 5 years from the date of purchase, whichever comes first. As others have mentioned, the general rule is 5 years for helmets. -DrewZilla
