I like ur content
I don’t care I hate fortnite
damn
I don’t play fortnite hah
jokes on you, i don't play Fortnite
I talk to myself alot like I’m a youtuber, but when I get on stream my confidence crumbles 😂
Same 😂😂😭😭
Same issue. I have a small gig of being a commentator for a Cod kill race and I'm just nervous as hell.
Same, whenever i just talk to myself its pretty good but when im recording i just get nervous as hell
Maybe invest in like a pocket recorder so you can play back some things you've said throughout the day in case you hear something you like or wish to reuse
Same
I needed some tips on improving as a commentator, thanks Jay!!
Damn, big fan 😳
The best tip to improve as a commentator is to stay classy *finger snaps*
Hey Muaaz.
Muaaz ha yea same. Did not expect u here 😂
Yo you and jay are my favorite
When I was younger (I'm 13 now), I wanted to be a content creator on RUclips. To practice, I commentated my game despite no one listening and eventually, I just did it as a habit rather than something conscious. There was a rule in my household (still is in place) that I couldn't talk with my microphone past 9:00pm. So, many nights it was past 9:00pm and I was commentating to myself as per usual. My dad walks in angry and says "Who are you talking to!" and every time I would say "Myself." I did this so many times and eventually my dad stopped believing me. xD
What’s most important that wasn’t said in this video is practice, you’re not going to commentate like a pro until you get used to talking over your gameplay for long amounts of time!
5:32
recording your gameplay beforehand is the best way to go
He said that, you just didn't watch the video and lied
@@AdamGamingARK I did watch the video actually why else would I comment on this kind of video I was looking for tips 🤦🏻♂️ must’ve missed him saying that
@@ItsCD16 if that's the case then I am sorry
With voice recording in general, the phrase "fake it until you make it" could really apply here, pretend you are already recording for a large audience, pretend you are talking to friends, hell imagine people are laughing with you.
a tip to sound more confident is try imagining your talking to your friend, imagine your on a call with them and also practice these tips helped me a lot
how do i listen to the backround music without it being recorded by my software?
ProdiJay dont act crazy or act like someone else.
Puts photo of Jake Paul
Definitely trying to improve my commentary
I really agree with the background music point. I tried recording a game without any music playing, and I could feel myself being much less upbeat than i normally would be otherwise.
i forgot how crispy your voice is because you don't post that much
Getting back to 1 vid/week, but soon 2 vids/week ;)
W video I started my RUclips channel and I have 200 subs now so thanks for the advice
0:50 putting up a clip of Mr Different and labeling him as busy works beats is SICK LLLMMMMAAAAOOOO
super old vid, i probs had both channels open when i was finding clips and tried crediting 😔 oof lol my b
@@ProdiJay it's all good, I know how it goes with this content game. Mistakes WILL happen and it ain't worth correcting when you got the momentum. This is a high ranked video and the execution/editing is A1, great work
I try to record and commentate on my phone and it’s kinda weird but it’s all I got to achieve my goals on RUclips!!
Where my mobile youtubers or editors at?
This man completely burned Logan Paul. 1:36
For me and commentary in my videos. I used to non-stop whisper in my mic and during the recording I rarely talked when I did a live stream or a intro of myself I never looked directly in the camera so what's helped me in the past is when I look at my camera I pretend I'm talking to somebody and telling them what I'm doing and how things are going excetera. Don't think of it as man I'm going to sound like an idiot I don't know what I'm doing. Think to yourself I got this I can do it and I will. Be confident in yourself and to Nala other people take you for granted on that. That's what has helped me in the past
Something I have done without really realizing it, is acting like a big content creator, or when I'm following a tutorial I explain it to a make believe audience while doing it.
Can anyone tell me how to add background gameplay or anime clips to my video bc i really dont understand it😭💀
I don’t think that I’m not confident in commentating, it’s just I don’t know what to talk about/say when playing games.
Don’t worry, you guys may start of small but trust processes you will very big! 💙
I don't like hearing myself talk I sound like discount Kermit the frog.
What possibly can go wrong on anyone's 1st commentry video ? I am planning to start commentry on my videos but this thought makes me worry. Can you share your 1st experience as a commentator to boost my confidence?
Simple mistakes like not pronouncing words the way you want them to sound or maybe accidentally slur words. Different stuff can happen, but in the end, you just gotta practice.
@@ProdiJay thanks for the reply 👍, I really appreciate it
Great tips Jay. Where do you get your background music?
You can talk yourself
Ok
Thanks man!! Now my commentary quality goes UP! 🙌 I always talk on the xbox stream through my headset. But I gonna try record my voice on the stream after recording the game 👊😃
I don’t have a computer, I do all my stuff on mobile 😬
Are there any dynamic mics that you will recommend? I have a lot of background noise in my room.
I need tips on commentating on starting a RUclips commentary gaming channel! Thanks for this!
Nice tips thanks im not that new just always learning what I can
Amazing video Bro, Fully Worth it 🔥
Do you use audio playback when recording, like do you like to hear yourself while commentating?
Sometimes that or I just keep 1 earcup off
The problem I have is I can never figure out what to say
I struggle with the wording I use while trying to commentate. Everytime I get messed up or caught up on a word for a second I have to restart my entire video. So it’s pretty tricky for me to make videos lol
Try recording in smaller parts; makes it easier when editing 👍
I like what the person above my comment said -
But if I could add some advice as well… Don’t start the video over. If you stumble over a word or two than remember to remind yourself it’s okay , Relax your thoughts and don’t be afraid to mess up . I mean you’re your speaking unscripted and it’s very common to say umm or trip over your words. You know in your mind what you wanna say but speaking that thought out loud does not always come out smoothly.
Sometimes a commentary fail can go unnoticed by the audience but a genuine fun moment like a joke can develop from it ; Thus giving you a confidence boost and maybe making a few viewers vibe with you because it’s relatable.
Oh and Be sure to watch a few of your own recordings ! Critique yourself but don’t beat yourself down. Happy gaming @chippd
Great advice @prodiJay 💯
Need help to get confidence
I went from a condenser mic AT2020 to a dynamic Sm57 cause the 2020 was picking up too much room noise. Yeah my mixer is up a bit more but it cleaned up the audio. I also run through a gate and compressor. But I have a music channel so audio is gonna be a bit different than a non musician.
The issue I have with scripts is that , it SOUNDS like your reading. You can call it out almost instantly, almost like 99% of top 10 videos etc you know what I mean?+
That’s why you don’t read scripts “word for word”.
For example, give an actor like DiCaprio a script, he’s gonna improvise the lines so it’s easier to say or flow better.
So when it comes to scripts, write it in the way you would talk. Then when reading it, just glance over it and talk like your talking to a friend
Many big RUclipsrs script their videos, but sound natural. Like MKBHD, mrwhosetheboss, etc
How do you find youtube background music
microphone did the trick, i mean he almost sounded like DanTDM there....
I don’t know much music to use for it but I will use super Mario galaxy music
“nobody wants to listen to someone who sounds shy and unconfident” welp im fucked LOL
when you get a "cheaper" mic I recommend using voice meter.
i'm watching this after watching your old video on same topic, mann hugeee change in the voice sounds so Crisp and professional 👌
Anyone looking to do fighting gameplay commentary
soz i was a bit late i was at school camp smh
My mic is the hyper x is that good?
I got the stuff I just don’t have that commentary voice
I know a lot of people get likes for commenting a lot of things so
Can i have chezbuger pls
Great vid for my overview on my games
Practise without recording
Thanks Jay I needed tips on improving
Thanks For The Tips Jay I liked the video!
commentary good , Rocket league not soo much, Try to dont go for balls when you are by your back to them and let it for your team mates, You see them many times and cut their rotation, Thanks for commentary advice tho
im superrr nervous about my voice bc of how high pitched it isss 😭😭 i made my first video 3 months ago and only only 1.2k views and idk if thats good..
No one's first vid is perfect. Can't improve without makin mistakes along the way 💜
Me with a guitar hero mic and a wooden stand
thanks! very helpful
I like your videos and all but microphone don't devide in usb and condencer but usb and xlr lol u shudof done your research
Are you Ian's cousin
He likes to "imagine I'm a big youtuber" yet he already is lol.
I dont know what to say
Thanks I want to make shorts on RUclips or tik tok I’m trying to decide
Do both! If you make a Tiktok, you might as well post it to RUclips shorts as well :) Many people do that
If you're looking for a cheap and good microphone get the fifine t669/k669b (depending on your budget)
I use a RODE NT-USB but the quality sounds weird when I record. I’m not sure wether it is the app I use to record (Xbox capture) or the mic itself
is the hyper x quadcast a good enough mic
yes
I have a headset mic, it was one of those with the button stuffs but audio quality is ok
if you ever feel nervous that someone is going to judge you on your commentary, guarenteed you will have one view where the person is either drunk, high, sitting alone in their underwear or less, or even more...or worse...to your audience, you are just a voice, they don't know your face or name. As Jay said, be confident, talk with pride, but don't be someone else, because people will notice. If you are nervous when you start recording, think of the guy that will be half naked eating tacobell watching as you have the time of your life. Also, depending on your content, try explaining your reasoning or actions as if you are explaining it to someone who can't see. half of the time when I watch youtube, i prefer to leave it in another tab as I do other stuff, or listen as I do some stuff around the house.
Does anyone know any good pc recording software
Audacity
Try OBS Studio.
Is turtle beach ok?
I have an radium 400 and it is very quiet(my power supply is 270v i think)
This is dope. Thanks for the tips.
I'm actually using the hyperx quadcaster I think it's good but what are yall thoughts
How to make a script
interesting
Can you help me with my voice I sound like a pycho ???!!
I come from Germany and found your Videos they are really cool gut can your speak a litlle Bit slowly pls
If he talks to fast u can change the speed in the video settings
🐐🐐🐐🐐✊🏾
Dropped you a sub bro, Thanks for the tips
He secretly roasted Jake Paul LMAO
Condenser means picks up everything around it, Some condenser mics have USB such as the Blue Yeti, that us a condenser microphone. XLR is what you're thinking of.
Most people use dynamic microphones, they are better as they don't pick external noise or echo/reverb.
Corsair headsets have good mic quality and there about 50-80 £
Very classy!
My phone good
What do you think about the razer siren x
I have a webcam mic and it is actually pretty decent so I hope I can get better thanks so much
i’ve had my audiotechnica xlr mic for years bc i record music as well, but i never thought i would be interested in starting to make gaming videos. glad i bought that mic and my audio interface in hindsight lol
Hey remember me the guy you made fun of
huh
@@kyndull i got this guy mixed up with someone else
oh
Considering doing commentaries to go along with edits in the future, thanks for the advice!
Skipped 3 steps: use text to speech
Why is my profile pic Like this
Never mind it’s fine

Insightful video. Thanks
Is it fine to use a voice generator for the ones that want to force there voice?
best budget camera's for videos and/or streams
Hmm... thanks I didn't know how it works
Great mic sound bro.
do you use a preset for your titles, or do you make them from scratch?
What music is this ?
Thanks
Rocket league!!!!!!!!!
