This video spoke to me on so many levels. It was wonderful watching the shared experience of making and tasting comfort foods that carry so much personal and cultural meaning. My dad's from Savannah, GA (descendants of Irish potato famine-era immigrants) and my mom is from Korea (now a naturalized citizen). My mom cooks by taste and feel and adjustment an endless variety of Korean fooda. My grandma (dad's mom) grew corn, snap beans, okra, tomatoes, cucumbers, strawberries, and squash in a massive garden; canned pickles / preserves, and cooked everything from scratch. Your matso ball soup reminded me of grandma's chicken and dumplings which involved a whole chicken popped in a pressure cooker until it fell apart and the bones were edible. The Korean soup vaguely reminded me of my mom's Mukguk (daikon beef soup6.

Such a great idea!! You mention that food is such an easy way to get to know a culture and make a part of it live on. I have learned so many cool recipes! I actually brought the Columbian dish in the salad episode, “Clown Salad” to a family reunion and everyone(that enjoyed beets) loved it! It was cool to see older generations that are meat and potatoes sort of people branch out and eat a dish outside of their norm. I truly love this channel. I also think it was a polish dish that was incorporated into the strawberry episode that has egg noodles, sweet sour cream, and strawberries with sugar and that is my go to get high and feel fancy dish for some reason. Sorry to make this long, but you explain every dish so well that often, I need to experience it! This has been so helpful and also beautiful to watch how lit up you get as well as the people that get free range to be nostalgic about food growing up and such.
