WupS sorry but I’m never gonna but men’s jeans they’re usually too baggy and hardly have any designs on like rips at the bottom of the jeans and rips up the leg and I like them tight as well
Nevaeh Anderson they make really tight skinny jeans and I’m pretty sure they sell them with rips and stuff, and if they didn’t it’s probably possible to make rips of your own or to wear the rips in
My female friend felt the need to carry a knife with her at the age of 13 when she walked alone, fair enough but a little weird, but when she told me she had to pull it out to make some 20 something year olds go away, that’s when I 100% knew I had it much easier than her.
yea I usually will give my gfs a knife if they don't own one just in case if they are going out alone or walking somewhere. Its kinda weird how many extra knifes I seem to have collected over the years that I can just give them out and still have like 10 others just kind of randomly around the house. I don't even remember where they came from.
Shit i do that and I'm a dude but know I totally get why it is way less safe for girls really so many guys are soooooo creepy and I apologize for them and if they don't want that well to fricken bad they need to apologize
I love how the settings get progressively darker/lighter. I didn't notice at first, but it really sells the different perspectives. EDIT: It's been a while since I've seen this thread. For those of you asking how I didn't notice the changes, I just want to point out that I said I didn't notice AT FIRST. At the BEGINNING OF THE VIDEO, the changes in perspective are deliberately subtle before going ridiculously full-blown. It's not something you'd notice the first time around (like the lighting being just a shade darker than before). That was my only point.
ChaoticGamer me too. I mean in the 1700s pockets were huge and worn under the dress as a separate. Later it turned into a handbag and essentially adding pockets would change the shape of most women's garments so essentially most of the problems with women's garments today are due to women's clothing being less practical and more decorational than men's. So yes women do need handbags by design of clothing.
ChaoticGamer It's probably cause female pants are too tight, and they have their purses/handbags/whatever it's called, so they don't need it thst much, mans pants are larger
angelstouch92 except it is socially acceptable f9r women to have purses or bags, and men not so much. This helps drive the need for men's clothing to have pockets and women's not to. Honestly clothing generally shouldn't be gender specific, and that's the root of the problem.
angelstouch92 I think it's because in the earlier days women HAD to wear dresses, and dresses don't have pockets, so you need handbags, and when the pants came for women, it was the norm to have handbags, so it stood like that
@@dannycarrillo456 yeah but both the candies and rain were allegoric so that wouldn't have made much sense. Plus free-candies are a real danger for children but not for adults, be they men or women, while the rest are fears that a woman can legitimately experience.
Same here. Doesn't help right behind my house there is basically an alleyway covered in graffiti, and there's a bunch of vandalism cases all over my neighborhood, so i'm always afraid of being attacked...I love how it looks outside at night and all that, but it also scares the shit out of me...
And what's especially sad is that, that paranoia to be raped, assaulted or publicly shamed by someone comes so naturally, and at such a young age, it's scary and messed up and so twisted
Yeah, I remember being prepared to run at a very young age, my mother prepared me by telling me to run as fast as I could if an adult told me to come. When I moved to a city I always had to tell my friends that I had come home safely when I walked home at night. Now I'm pretty physically strong so I guess I can survive now.

Yeah cuz that’s definitely the take away here. Not the fact that we as a society have trouble understanding each-other’s issues which further isolates from one another, or the fact that gender equality doesn’t exist, has never existed, and may never truly exist, no, the real message here is definitely the Candy. Of course.
One time a neighbour (male) gave me a lecture about why I should always be kind to strangers even in deep hours of the night. He could fit right into this sketch with that kind of thinking
Straight men, don't say anything to a woman on the street that you wouldn't want a guy to say to you in prison. Edit: I made this comment a while ago, and I now understand how insensitive it is and no longer agree with it. It makes light of male prison sexual assault victims, who are already belittled and dismissed for speaking out about their experiences. I apologize. In general, just try to empathize with the other person before you say smth to them. If you'd feel uncomfortable or scared in their position, just don't say whatever it is. Be kind, and respect other people. I specified "straight men" in my original comment because I feel that the majority of men that harrass women are straight, and they harrass women due to their own toxic masculinity and insecurity about their "manliness," so to speak. Ofc, this does not mean that all straight men harrass women, and it doesn't mean that all sexual harrassers are straight men. I wish I could respond to some of these comments bc they upset me but I have neither the time nor the energy. All I have to say is this: I heard once somewhere that for someone who has privilege, equality feels like oppression. Maybe that's how some of the men in the replies feel. Maybe that's why some of you are so defensive. I understand that men struggle with their own sets of issues, and any reasonable feminist will agree wih me that sexism and the patriarchy affects both sexes. So, please stop bringing up men's issues in a conversation about women's issues to invalidate our suffering. Both men AND women's issues deserve to be heard and validated, so stop comparing and claiming that you have it worse. Listen to us, and we'll listen to you, and together we can fight the systems that oppress us all. I hope everyone reading this is safe and healthy, and know that there are people who care abt you, even if you haven't met them yet.

When I was in college, I had really bad insomnia. I would get up and walk around Edinburgh at 4am. This was in the early 90s, so no phone. For protection I had a t-bar corkscrew with a very sharp point (it’s illegal to carry a knife, but there’s no law against carrying corkscrews). In retrospect, I was a moron, but honestly - it was very peaceful and relaxing.
To clarify for all, in the UK, it is an offence to carry any item with the intent to use it as a weapon, even in self-defence. You may carry a folding, non-locking knife less than 3 inches long, and you do not need a good reason for doing so. However, if you carry said item with the intent to use it as a weapon, even in self-defence, then carrying it becomes an offence.
Just get a knife.... or conceal carry a handgun if you feel that unsafe. I’m willing to bet that people won’t bother you if you have a 9 mm with the intention of using it. But hey that’s just a theory, a GAME THEORY
I got catcalled for the first time when I was 11 on my way home from school i was on a double decker on the top floor and it was a public bus so there was this group of guys who were in their early 20s and they were vaping and they were said "heyyyyyy girl I want to brush you're hair with my teeth!!" hello. This has been hour five of being trapped in a comments section about gender. It all started earlier this morning when the ads were buffering, and I got bored. Since then it has only gotten worst. I've seen it all angry replies to shitty jokes that reach the max comment chain limit. comments about people who hate men, comments about people who hate women, comments about people who hate people who hate men, comments about people who hate people who hate women. everything is spiraling, and the edges of my vision are starting to turn fuzzy. I only have a few minutes before my battery dies so this is the only thing I have time to say. It's too late for me, but it isn't too late for you. Listen to my next words very carefully. DON'T SCROLL DOWN
As a young woman, I have to say that the girls’ perspective is one that I definitely get behind. Except for the night walks. Jogging at midnight is awesome. Then again, I have the fortune of living in a gated suburban neighbourhood- the only people I run into at that time are security guys on patrol. It’s sad that many girls don’t have the luxury of feeling safe enough to do the same :(

The struggle when pepper spray and other self defence items are illegal where you live and the only thing you can buy is a spray that stains the skin. Great so I can colour my rapist in hope he will get somewhat of of a punishment if he is caught before the dye washes out instead of stopping him.
DIY (legal) PEPPER SPRAY IDEAS 1. Lemon juice 2. Cyan pepper 3. Windex 4. Ghost pepper hot sauce 5. Acid (citric or malic) 6. bleach (FOR A GREATER EFFECT MIX THEM) Im not trying to prove your comment wrong or anything i'm just trying to give you ideas of what you could carry to defend yourself because you cant get arrested for carrying any of these things since they are technically not weapons. SInce most of them are househeld items you could just say you were shopping and used them as self defense. I think pepper spray should be legal. I kind of agree with gun laws but how are you going to hurt someone with pepper spray.
Ryan Raed Pepper spray, bleach, ghost pepper sauce, lower ph acid can blind people if extreme enough. That a d may be worrieed that if they are legal, they may be used in circumstances that could be solved otherwise. Bad arguement? Whip out that pepper spray Think someone is stalking you? WalletCatFizz Oh my god, fine I’ll explain this to you. The description is in reference to the fact that any time anyone brings up a problem faced by women, everyone chimes in in the comments about how this sometimes happens to men too (kinda like you’re doing). The point they’re making is women face these issues more and these issues are often directly related to their womanhood.
WalletCatFizz Exactly, that’s the point. They’re talking about women’s problems. So when people come into comment sections and complain about male problems, it’s off topic and taking focus off of important issues that need to be talked about

As a guy, it's always just the most uncomfortable thing when I'm coming home late, there's no one on the street except me and a woman and we're heading in the same direction. I always have no idea what to do, because I absolutely feel for the woman, but also I gotta go in that direction. If I can I'll cross over to the other side of the street but that's not always an option. Sometimes I wanna yell out "Don't worry, I'm not trying to rape you" but honestly, feel like that'd make the situation worse. Usually I just see them speed up and while it's definitely a little hurtful, I completely understand and it's best for both parties.
That’s so relatable. Like my existence is a threat when we’re the only ones there. I try to goof off on my phone or pretend like I’m uninterested in whatever ladies is around and I’m focused on something else. Listening/Watching a video definitely helps.
Thanks for feeling that consideration. I've always been very suspicious of men going the same way I am on an abandoned street, but I do feel a little bad for cynically doubting everyone and angry at the world that made it this way. We need more decent human beings like you.
what I personally do is hold my phone up to my ears and pretend I'm talking to someone, I make sure that girl can hear me, that way she knows I'm not tryna hide or anything, I also make the conversation hint to me going home or to a friend's place "ay bro, I'm on my way rn, need me to bring anything? aight, has john arrived or is he late as usual? ok good" or "hey mom, I'm on my way home, I'll be there right away, bye" whether it makes it better or worse I have no idea, I hope it makes it better
Same. Headphones on, nodding my head to the music, not looking in her general direction, and always going to the other side of the road unless it's not possible, in which case I'll slow down so she can be far away.
Just hearing the word rape is really scary so please don't say that, "I'm not trying to rape you." Based on my personal experience with actual rapists, they also say that. Just say hi and your name if you want (do not ask her name) and then ask her if she wants to walk with you or if you can walk with her. If she says no thanks then leave her alone and pass her to walk ahead of her. That way she doesn't have a guy she does not know walking behind her and if an attacker does come from behind she can run towards you to get your help. If she say yes you can walk with me then you can walk with her but just make small talk about the weather or dogs or trains or France and don't talk about rape on any other torture or trauma. I am a girl and this is what I'd prefer you to do. I have been attacked plenty of times because I am a human trafficking survivor.
Right? Like doesn't everyone realize this is exactly what they wanted to happen? People from both sides played right into their hands and it's funny to see everyone blabbering like puppets.....don't they realize that's exactly what they were trying to do? And the fact that people did it just reinforced exactly what the joke of this sketch was. Well played College Humor!
This. I’m only in 8th grade and some high school dude reached out to me over email by accident. I let him know I was new to the district and didn’t know many people so I probably didn’t know him either, and he replied he could “show me the ropes”. I took a chance and decided to let the conversation continue and it almost immediately went to “so do you have any crushes yet? A boyfriend?”. Platonic friendships with men? I wish...
THE WHOLE JOKE IS THAT IT'S EXAGGERATING. Men get anxious walking around at 2 am alone and women don't all carry weapons at all times. Men aren't naive, blundering idiots without a care in the world and women aren't paranoid schizophrenics with twitchy fingers because the world is out to get them. College Humor. HUMOR!!!!
Not gonna lie, it was a little bit difficult to see that at first. I wasn't too sure what the video was trying to say until the rainclouds. I can see why people are confused, as the mens side was a lot more unrealistic than the womens side, and thats why some perceived it as feminist video, and some took it seriously.
It's a real bummer how the backlash against feminism now has turned from "Hey, I agree but I think it's ridiculous that I have to close my legs* and not be allowed to talk about** serious matters or have my opinion taken seriously" to "ALL FEMINISTS ARE CRAZY!". * Manspreading ** Mansplaining

Today I took the bus. My boyfriend was noce enough to wait at the busstop with me, but there was this older guy there who kept mumbling and walking back and forth in front of us and staring directly at me non-stop. when i got on i put my bag in the seat next to me to avoid him sitting there but he sat across from me, legs in the aisle, whole body facing me, still mumbling nonstop. He seemed to enjoy the fact that i was visibly uncomfortable and when I put in earbuds and turned away he got up and moved to the seat in front of me so that he had to be in my line of sight. Eventually I gained the courage to tell him off and the bus driver threatened to kick him off the bus if he didn't face forward the whole trip. This video is too terrifyingly real. I could also tell you about the time I was followed 6 or 7 blocks in the dark. I was lucky a lady was driving by and drove back around to make sure I was okay because she saw him following me too. She gave me pepper spray. Shit was terrifying, but I digress.
I mean, not like anything is gonna happen. On a bus there are a ton of people to protect you. Besides, when I blank out and start thinking about something is apparently when I have the scariest face. So chances are I don't even know you exist. I'm thinking about something completely unrelated.
Mr. Jeffrey Lewis. Hello, are you having a good day? You see, I'm brazilian, and a month or two ago a man ejaculated on a woman in a bus. It was proven that this man had it as habit, too, to not only ejaculate as also grab women in the bus. He was charged for sexual assault and/or rape not one, not two, but seven times. So you do NOT EVEN TRY to go on and tell me that nothing could happen to women in busses. It can. And as well as that could happen, you never know when a man is going to follow you once you get out the bus. It is scary, and it is uncomfortable, and it's only gets worse when you think that are men like you who don't even understand why that is an issue.
Flávia Caribé you know this because media blew it up. Media blows things up because it's uncommon. Media loves this one situation that happened once, but think about how many people ride the bus, how many times they ride the bus a day, a week, a month, a year, a lifetime? Shit happens
I've seen more comments saying "I've seen more comments about triggered people than I've seen triggered people" than I've seen comments about triggered people.
As a woman, I agree with all of that. Especially walking alone in the street at night, I get very scared and I won't do it unless I have no other choice.
Jaidyn Unknown tldnr But I get the gist of it. Also, what about the men that would feel too ashamed to go to the police or tell someone? Men can't cry, or be a victim. No one jokes about female rapes, but male prison rapes are allowed to be made fun of. Don't drop the soap. Why is that okay, but the other not? Women are falsely accusing men of rape, the word rape isn't what it used to be. Now if both parties are drunk, the man is still to blame and is now called a rapist. That man would be fired and rejected by those around him. Is society and media against women, or is that a ploy to disguise men's rights and issues?
that 1/5 statistic for women in college was not only disproved but looked down upon by the people who had to enforce blatantly false allegations. Please don't go believing stats people throw at you without checking the real results and the criterion used to measure them. Misinformation is just as powerful as information.
Really? because I've been sexually assaulted, and at least 3 out of every 5 of my female friends has been too. Trying to report the assault literally does nothing. When men try to say that the statistics are wrong, but don't actually ASK their female coworkers or friends if they've ever been sexually assaulted. Ask your mom, your sister, you'll see it's way more women than you thought.
I can't believe how many of the people in the comments think that the women's side of this is exaggerated, and so are basically responding exactly the same way that the guys do in the video. Do people really not understand that the majority of women in cities live like this, no matter where they are in the world?
If that's true and fun fact it isn't than woman choose to do so. Because the chances of actually getting raped by a stranger during the night is rather very small. The pockets and creepy posters are correct but you know you can block people very easily these days.
Wizardporn2008 how unfortunate that women don't have the choice whether they end up raped or dead. Maybe instead of leaving insensitive comments you can educate yourself on the constant violence and discrimination women face in their daily lives. Start by listening to women close to you and ask them about their experiences. (And don't say you'd rather end up dead than raped. We don't generally like to hear that).
Amy Bee I know plenty of woman who aren't afraid to leave their doorstep or to go to a place. Even when it's dark. I don't know how things are in the USA but I doubt they are much worse. The point of this video is to show that women are too worried about dangers and men are too carefree. It's a satire on both genders. The description of the video is directed towards the men that get triggered because they think this is feminist video even though it's not.
No, us girls aren't "delusional paranoid whackjobs", we're just not as clueless about what other people go through, like men. But, I'll just assume that you are either trolling or have never been in a neighborhood full of drug addicts and criminals.
Shiny Sylveon I grew up in a neighborhood with drugdealers, prostitutes and homeless crackheads. Almost every night you would hear gunshots. I as a young man 10-16 roamed those streets, by myself, never worried about anything or anyone.
Everyone here is saying that this is too biased but I really don't think it is. I mean, it's kind of making fun of both genders. It's making fun of women for being afraid of everything, and it's making fun of men for being absolutely oblivious to the struggles that women go through.
Wait hold on, who shames female orgasms? Periods and breastfeeding I'll give yah but I've only ever seen female orgasms as something SOUGHT after by both sexes. Unless that's the issue.
Something Hank that's the thing. A decent amount of men (note i didn't say all or even most) tend to not care about the female in bed, weather out of poor treatment or just out of ignorance (not used as an offensive term. Check the definition if still upset) It is a genuine problem in many women's sex lives.
Less than six years ago I was arguing with two male co-workers who believed women could not have orgasms. They where in complete disbelief and very pissed. It was a debate where I was out numbered and completely right. I'll never forget that. I feel really really bad for the women they slept with. But, they don't teach about the female orgasms, only the male. Female orgasms increase the odds of pregnancy but it's not seen as necessary. That's society way of shaming females for wanting something they used to have to go to doctors to get.
High Lady of the Night Court not to mention women who squirt. They’re shamed so much so they feel like they can’t even enjoy sex in fear of the guy freaking out.

why are women's pockets almost non existent? me and my friend figure it's to sell more handbags
Ricardo alves generally women have handbags because pockets suck, not the other way around.
angelstouch92 except it is socially acceptable f9r women to have purses or bags, and men not so much.

We need more decent human beings like you.
what I personally do is hold my phone up to my ears and pretend I'm talking to someone, I make sure that girl can hear me, that way she knows I'm not tryna hide or anything, I also make the conversation hint to me going home or to a friend's place
"ay bro, I'm on my way rn, need me to bring anything? aight, has john arrived or is he late as usual? ok good"
or
"hey mom, I'm on my way home, I'll be there right away, bye"
whether it makes it better or worse I have no idea, I hope it makes it better

Lydi@ I'm a dude and creepy shit like that has happened to me before but I carry a knife so it doesn't bother me
I mean, not like anything is gonna happen.
Flávia Caribé I wouldn't call him a man. He sounds like a failure.
Flávia Caribé you know this because media blew it up. Media blows things up because it's uncommon. Media loves this one situation that happened once, but think about how many people ride the bus, how many times they ride the bus a day, a week, a month, a year, a lifetime? Shit happens
Can you imagine the setup for this video? They had to change the lighting for every shot!

But I get the gist of it.

Holy shit, nice job at deleting replies lol
Because in the Netherlands chances are way higher that you get hit by a car than get raped or murdered. But if all woman have to live in fear during the night I truly do feel sorry for them.
OddUndeniably Fun fact: this is on CollegeHumor for a reason, True it isn't unheard of that women get brutally raped or murdered but you gotta understand that the majority of people haven't experienced these problems.
