    Just a suggestion, when you make tests for sound. Don't hit the cueball into a object ball. Any shot you took with a quick hit completely covered the sound of the cue itself.
    As well, it would. Be neat to see sound tests compared to one another with other cues

    Upon watching your review, decided to order a kielwood shaft, was looking for a kielwood shaft and was between Hsu and the ob Phoenix I believe. Hsu took the top spot based off the customization factor..I prefer to play with 11.75mm tip and decided to get it at 30" as well. Value his craftsmanship so didn't care about spending extra $

    I'm interested in this shaft but the deflection looks significantly higher than the Predators I'm used to. I don't think I can deflet more than .5 inch with any hit or speed. This seems to have about 2" of deflection. The sounds and hit sounds great though. I bought a katana a while back. Loved the hit and feel. Just to much deflections. Sold it. I have a 314.3 vantage and revo 12.4 . Been using the wood mostly.

  • @nodeal7337

    Looks like the tapering is straight and the shaft quite thick. That explains the sound (vibration of the wood ) and low deflection, thick and stiff.

    • @garrettgerard4939
      @garrettgerard4939 2 года назад +1

      Front end mass causes low deflection not stiff and thick....

    • @nodeal7337
      @nodeal7337 2 года назад

      @@garrettgerard4939 So you say shaft tapering has no effect? What about material, type of wood, spliced, glued, carbon. You say it does not have an effect on Deflection?
      All of the above will effect the shaft. I'm sure ferule design and weight can have an effect too.

    • @nitnesto9195
      @nitnesto9195 7 месяцев назад

      @@nodeal7337 in the end it all comes down to front end mass. material, type of wood or carbon, ferrule, all those thing affect the weight and the lower the from mass the less it deflects. from my experience carbon shafts over 12 mm deflect more than low deflection wood shafts that are 12 mm

    Your demonstration of deflection is very poor. It is viewable from video that you did not do a parallel shift and that you compensate deflection with cue position.

    • @TheBilliardCorner
      @TheBilliardCorner  4 года назад +4

      I did a parallel shift in the demo. If I was really compensating, I could make it go straight to "0". Try doing your own test on camera and you will understand. When you strike the cue ball with near maximum spin, the shaft will flex and move your hand/cue.

    • @salevu
      @salevu 4 года назад +2

      @@TheBilliardCorner It looks (if you look the video) that your cue is not parallel with the side of the table before you make contact with the ball. It really looks like you pivoted a cue. If you really did parallel shift, maybe you should try to change camera angle when you do the test. Just a recommendation. I have no doubt that you did a honest test, it just don't look credible in video.

      Just rig up a mechanical swing arm specifically for the low deflection test. Not only will it remove human error, it will also deliver a consistent stroke.
