    Love to see more cedh content! You have a great presentation style and I'm looking forward to how it transfers over to competitive commander.

    This is a lot like my cEDH Akroma//Kamahl list. Really solid deck overall. Id really like to see more

    I'm 63 and just got this from my son for Christmas. He and I went thru our playstock and pulled out all those enchantments that've been sitting them for years. Not interested in cEDH and a lot of this is too rich for me. I'd rather stay casual. Picking this out of your presentation will be fun. For example, we left Archon of Valor's Reach out, though we have one, because it just complicates the game and slows it down for everyone including me.

      I 100% get that! This deck is definitely oppressive and just focuses on keeping our opponents from doing anything which can be super un fun in casual. Here’s my Calix list hopefully it has a good bit of gems for you. It’s a lot more casual but still packs and punch! You can just use ellivere at the helm instead 😁 ruclips.net/video/9G3NVXniNMU/видео.htmlsi=zXDMuDU2ahVPBkQo

    Excited to try Ellivere in this way. I was running Winota for my CEDH stax deck but felt it needed something more.

    I have been slowly changing cards out from the precon to match your video, including a couple of my own adds I’ve made a solid 7 power deck! I’m excited to make it much more hate heavy

    So is it possible to have a virtuous role on each creature or is it limited to one creature?

  • @Nullking_
    @Nullking_ Год назад +3

    So I understand you are not traditionally a CEDH player and this is a decent take on a stax deck. I wanted to give you a few notes on this as Stax is probably one of the harder types to start out with in CEDH and with that said you are adding all the hate pieces that tend to go in stax decks but you also have a lot of things that are fighting each other. Spirit of the labyrinth and the artifact hate pieces are really gonna fight against how your deck runs and will tend to more often work against you just as much as other players and put you more behind.

    • @decktechsfordecks
      @decktechsfordecks  Год назад +2

      The artifacts in the deck are really just in there to make sure we can cast a hate piece turn 1 and the idea behind labyrinth is we only deploy it once we are set up so we don’t lose to blue farm. That was the goal anyway I feel like without the artifact stax pieces we just lose to combo.

      @@decktechsfordecks I understand why you were thinking that but if you are running ouphe, null rod or stony you normally don’t run mana crypt, mox diamond or chrome mox as they either deal damage or are negative tempos. Sol ring is the exception or talismans. Spirit doesn’t belong because it shuts you off more than other decks. blue farm isn’t gonna draw more than you are and they will tutor more than draw or cast multiple things in a turn. Also I would cut cursed totem as it hurts you just as much as it hurts other players and play phyrexian revoker in its place with linvala. If you play mana rocks play more of them and like 1 artifact hate piece, Karn is fine as it’s asymmetrical. I would lean more on defeating silence, root maze, blind obedience and rule of law effects to stop those combo decks. Also I might have missed it but soulless jailer is really good.

    • @decktechsfordecks
      @decktechsfordecks  Год назад

      I see the spirit argument. I feel like cursed totem doesn’t hurt us much it just turns off our mana dorks and honestly they will be getting in for damage late game anyway. I feel like the artifact hate is to effective to cut all we care about is getting an impactful hate piece down early then cast our commander so taking a tempo hit that hurts others more than us is definitely a win for the stax deck that wants to prolong the game anyway.

    • @Nullking_
      @Nullking_ Год назад +1

      @@decktechsfordecks so it does but the problem is if you aren’t following up with enough mana to even cast your commander after or hitting mana dorks early then you are shutting yourself off. You are trying to slow the game down to your pace but you also trying not to stop yourself which those cards do. So you either play no almost no mana rocks or you play-less artifact hate. Artifact hate shuts out some decks but cast it turn 1 is not always the right answer. I know you don’t play CEDH but the game is way more complex at that level then normal casual games. Every card in your deck matters and if shutting yourself off is part of the plan your are handicapping yourself. I play stax in CEDH and I run only collector ouphe in my deck.

      @Adam-pc2cm Год назад +2

      I agree about Spirit and Cursed Totem but not really the artifact hate. Mana positive rocks are just absurdly good, and the chance that you die to crypt before you kill your opponents is incredibly low. I could see an argument for cutting moxen though

    Recommend cutting the hoof.
    You should also be on more torpor orb effects. With the enchantment subtheme you leave yourself open to being crushed by a midgame dockside.
    This also isnt a cursed totem deck. You should be on more dorks to help you cast your stax pieces early. The best combo decks aim for turn 1 or 2 wins. If youre before them in turn order you need to more or less guarantee one of your 3 drop RoL effects is going to land by then so you dont just lose.

    • @decktechsfordecks
      @decktechsfordecks  Год назад

      I found that waiting for the dorks to untap was to slow as you said people try to win turn 2. So depending on turn order you don’t have a chance to drop a dork and pass before you lose. I also think cursed totem is to good to cut. It’s a lot harder to generate infinite mana that way for the dockside players not to mention it hoses over some of the best commanders in the format. I appreciate the feedback though. I like the idea of more orb effects especially if I missed an enchantment form!

      Turn 1 dorks in a stax deck is a trap. You mull for the impactful stax effect or draw engine. Regardless of seat. The trick is knowing what stax effect you should mull for your pod and position. Turn 1 dranith does little in seat for against najeela, malcom, and tivit. Even Turn 1 ouph/thalia/hushbringer and a turn 2 Elli is the start of a good game.
      Tl;Dr the format is just too fast to have too high a density of dorks.

      Once a month or something. Take an old or a super new commander. Or combo and push it.
      Maybe u just call it Highpower or Fringe cEDH. But the real truth is that new brew theory is needed in cEDH. You have a completely different flavor than other content creators. It's great!
