Bregman's best days are behind him. Over paying him for what he did with the Astros is stupid.
They were never going to get a deal for Tucker. The Astros weren't going to trade Tucker to their AL rivals.
That’s perfectly fine - you still offer what would be necessary to find that out. You don’t just guess and move on. Not everyone is thinking about the Yankees

Walker is one of the best first basemen. His defensive metrics are absolutely insane and he has a very good bat. He’d be a much needed upgrade, even though he’s 34. He’s shown no sign of decline. Bregman on the other hand…

I read the Yanks did include Gil in the offer to Houston but wasnt willing to also include Lombard in the deal for a one and done player like Tucker. Also heard they didn't want it to be made public they had offered Gil.

The Yankees got 0 bats makes no sense how they expect to win with 1 elite bat 🦇 on the line up, when they badly need it 3 elite bats as minimum with this they aren’t gonna win with only 1 bat 💯
It wont replace Soto, but I'd get Bellinger for the Outfield, and see if Christian Walker would take 2 year deal with a high AAV, lots of people say he's old, but not everybody ages the same, he's a guy with serious power, probably the best fielding 1st baseman in baseball at the moment, and he's a know Dodger killer

I’m just shocked that the Tucker stuff got as far as it did. The smart money was n was the ass-Stros not wanting to trade with the Yankees for all gold in Midas’ mines.

But before Soto, more or less they same lineup we curently have was historically bad.
I think we need an outfielder and an infielder to be set for the season (until trade deadline when ya see if you need to add). Outfielder ya gotta like Bellinger, Bendan Donovan, Profar or Santander and infielder I like Arraez or Walker. I think even without Tucker available gotta go after one lefty (or switch bat and one righty). Donovan by the way looks to be as versatile as Bellinger as he plays outfield and infield and bats lefty. He is not a power guy- more of a contact hitter.
The outfield options after Soto left means the Yankees need to get creative. Let’s say if they get Bellinger and Bregman. Bellinger at 1b, Bregman in 3b, move Chisholm to CF and give the 2b spot to Jorbit Vivas. Or Bellinger in CF, Walker or Alonso at 1b, Chisholm in 3b and Vivas in 2b. Bellinger in CF, Chisholm in 2b, Bregman in 3b and Alonso/Walker at 1b. Or go with Teoscar, Santander etc, Chisholm in 2b, Bellinger/Alonso/Walker in 1b, Bregman in 3b

The problem with Bregman and also Walker is that there right handed and don’t hit for average. The Yankees need a top of the order left handed hitter and I don’t see any of those left on any of the markets… maby Profar but I wonder about the defense in yankee left field

If the Yankees can somehow land Suski, I would trade Schimdt or Gil for Brandon Donovon. Then, I try and try for Yandy Diaz of the Rays. Finally, I would trade for Bellinger. Your infield would be, Donovan at 3rd, Volpe at SS, Jazz at 2B and Diaz at first. Bellinger at LF, Jasson at CF and Judge RF.

I’d get Antony Santander for left field Dominguez on center judge on right. Cody Bellinger for first base, and Alex bragman for third base. Put jazz and second base.
That can replace Juan Soto 41 homeruns and qualify our defense.

I don’t understand the pass on Walker when he is by far the best defensive 1st baseman available if not in the entire MLB. The Yankees aren’t getting a Juan Soto like bat and fans need to realize this. Why sign all this pitching and not go all out on making the defense the best possible? Get Walker for 3 years and Bregman to a 5 or6 year deal. Now we have an elite infield defense and offense. Sign Profar to a solid 3 year deal to play left field. That is a team that will win the AL pennant once again. You also still have MLB ready players plus prospects to use at the trade deadline to either improve the team short or long term.

Why spend $$$ on Bregman, when Gio is available for MUCH less? Great defense, he’ll hit .260-.270, and nobody HATES HIM! Make the trade for BELLINGER, and use the savings from not getting Bregman towards signing Santander! Make a Judge sandwich with BELLINGER and Santander as the bread! If Hal is feeling really frisky, sign Flaherty.

I’m getting the sense from you guys, if I’m right I completely agree, we need to get away from the idea of it’s ok they score 5 ….we will just go out and hit 6 bombs …..as we now have an actual proven closer ….a really good ground ball pitcher …..we need to get into the idea of something like Jeeter said …..if we lead and Mariano comes in it’s over! …..to me relying on having to hit bombs/dingers call them what you will ……isn’t the way to go …….I get that ppl don’t think Bregman is a fit ….however if you look at what they were predicting Soto was going to do before he came to the Bronx, it wasn’t overly eye catching ….ok Soto is a generational player….but good ball players adapt to the stadium they are hitting in …….so imho just bear that in mind

Only Luis Arraez for that contact hitting bat that's it, no Bregman or Bellinger. Kyle Tucker is a great player but injury prone . He played two full seasons out of seven. Pass on him. Tucker is like Jacob DeGrom, great when he plays but injured for half the season.
Kyle Tucker played the last 3 seasons 140, 150 & 157.
He had a fractured shin in 24’ and still an almost 5 war player.
First 3 seasons was a rookie.
I have not heard this idea from anyone, but how about considering playing Jazz in left field?
