    I just went through some crawlspace exclusion. I fought rats for a week or so; they either started eating each other or going after stored food (e.g., snail shells). I stuffed one small opening with steel wool (about the size of a dime) that the smart ones exited through by removing every night... I don't know how they fit because they were big (caught a 5" one outside the house). The final one chose to stay inside and ate some baking soda balls; it hid itself in some crawlspace insulation when it died, and I had to fish it out because of the stink. I learned all these skills from The Twins videos!

      I use to work with insulation. So that meant attics and crawspaces, still have nightmares about it. The smallest attic we ever crawled threw was about 17inches. We use to stuff main entrances (rat holes) with mesh and foam. Horrible times

    • @ehenyor
      @ehenyor 2 года назад

      @@TheycallhimZee 17 inches? Wow. I can't even imagine. I would much rather be in an attic than a crawlspace, if it's large enough.

    I’m no expert but I have no idea how or why homes would ever be designed this way. It’s absurd to me that ducts would be hanging low like that in a damp crawl space laying in the dirt essentially. And why in the world do crawl spaces exist…. Seems way more logical that if you’re going to have something like this, it be a much larger area in case maintenance and repairs like this needs to be done. Then again I’m not a builder nor an engineer, perhaps homes are built like this for some specific reason. I have no clue, just seems absurd. You’re only making it harder on yourself to have such a tight space like this. Respect to you guys for getting under there. You couldn’t give me enough to go anywhere near a hazardous environment like that. Great content fellas!

    • @Pammellam

      The unseen areas like the crawl space and attic are always very shoddy, it seems to me.
      So many wires just hanging around. What if maintenance is needed or if something breaks.
      It would be horrible to have to work there.
      The Twins are so good at checking those kinds of spaces out. I understand why they wear hazmat suits and masks.

    Another great and informative video fellas. I am suprised the fiberglass insullation doesn't deter the rodents. We had a few visitors in my loft this winter but suprisingly little damage just a small mouse nest was found in my old school books maybe the were learning francais during the cold english days, usually the visitors are field mice in my location.
    A few years ago my neighbour's had such a overgrown garden and usually missed the fortnightly refuse days and rats moved in and i only noticed what we had when my farthers shed smelt like urine. Never had them again after the garden next door was cleared of all vegetation.
    Regards 🇬🇧

    Having to work in attics or any enclosed spaces that have been insulated with rockwool or whatever you call it in the US is an absolutely horrible job especially when its warm, very itchy and sweaty and hard to breathe. Yeah it's an awful job to do and to imagine that when you have rats running around aswell, there's plenty of shitty jobs in this world but that would be among the worst for me. I don't know how much guys charge to do this type of work but I'd understand if they don't come cheap, me and my mates used to hunt rats with our dogs and ferrets when we were kids, we loved it and was a lot of fun but rats are horrible little fuckers and do loads of damage anywhere they live. We used to go to a pig farm and it was shocking how many rats we used to find at that place.
