  • Hey everyone, here's a free tutorial on how to create this mini bean shawl using the mini bean stitch. I used one full skein of mandala Thunderbird for a shawl measuring 20.5 inches in length and 45 inches wide. If you want to make it larger, you just have to add more yarn. Hope you found this tutorial helpful and thank you for watching !

    This is a great tutorial. Thank you. Have had a go and done some practicing, and now feel ready to use my Mandala Baby cake....looking forward to the finished result. Using a 4.5 hook as I tend to crochet on the loose side....

      Patricia Douglass it's definitely a pattern I had to work with to get it simplistic but it does have a lot of texture that makes it look harder. I'm glad you enjoyed my tutorial and I will be doing some more videos soon. Thanks for your comment!

    Making this in Cupcake yarn. It's been a challenge - but I am progressing. Would suggest using a marker on the point and being sure to count the "beans" on each side. A bit tedious, but necessary. Love the results so far. Have done two baby blankets in Suzette stitch, and this does seem similar. Thank you for the pattern:)

    • @mycozeplace
      @mycozeplace  5 лет назад +1

      margaret dombkoski yes!! If it will make it easier and help you find stitches then I would use a stitch marker! I’ve been crocheting for years and I will still use one if I feel it’s going to help keep my place. Happy crocheting and thanks for watching my tutorial 👍🏻

    I was having a crojo issue while recovering from surgery and was sent a cake of a substitution of Mandala yarn in the Thunderbird colorway (I had ordered Pegasus...big switch in colorways...lol) and came across your tutorial and decided to give it a shot as I haven't had a chance to use Mandala yarns yet...and a slip in my crojo. But this is fabulous and I thank you. I am loving this. Now to find another cake of Thunderbird as I tend to lean toward longer shawls. But this may be enough and I may wear in more of a cowl style wrap. Thank you again.

    Beautiful shawl lovely colour. Just wanted to clarify when you are doing your second row, or are you going into the chain after the mini bean or going into the mini Bean. Thank you very much for your time I did enjoy watching that

    • @mycozeplace
      @mycozeplace  6 лет назад +2

      Nicola Garlick when you watch the video I do a mini bean in the space next to my chain when starting my second row, then I do my second mini bean stitch of the row next to the mini bean stitch. So you see a cluster and then a trianglular stitch right next to the cluster, that’s where you’ll make your mini bean stitches. When you end the row, make sure to do your DC. Hope I understand the question and answered correctly. If not just let me know 👍🏻. Thank you for watching!

    helpful tie off, needle end of yarn away from the end, and because you like to knot, take the needle off, now divid your yarn, so you may have a 4 ply, 2 and 2 , wrap 2 strands around a lower yarn, bring back up to other 2 strands and tie your knots, I use a half surgen knot, go around 2 times as if you are making the first part of a regular knot, then the next part of the knot go around once , making sure it is tight, if you make it as a square knot, it and all knots hold better, top over top, so if the lower part of the knot lets say the righthand side, take that end and go over the top of the left hand to make a square knot.

    You are doing it too tightly because you hold your hook wrongly and uncomfortably. Most in RUclips do it quite strangely.
