Bless you more and more as you exerting all the effort to read the Book of Mormon and listening to His word thru His choosen servants with all the capacity that still you have. Thank you fo sharing your experience with the church.
Thank you for your appreciation. I invite you to contact the church, missionaries can give you more informations on the gospel that you already know. I wish you well.
Thank God we have technology where we can watch this great inspirational talks a year later. I can see it is necessary that we stay extremely watchful in our choices everyday. It seems like people are making excuses more and more today than ever that it's okay for little sins to justify their actions. It's funny if we had a bump or a sore every time we do the ungodly, what would our appearance look like. Repentance is happiness and it brings peace to the heart and mind it's much better than Pharmaceuticals. Repentance is a gift from our Father in Heaven, just asked for forgiveness and the Lord will change you mentally and spiritually for the better, that is His promise to each of us if we would only repent and follow Him through obedience. Give all away your love and kindness to others. This will draw us further from the darkness of the world and move us closer to the Light of Christ.❤ these BYU talks.
It wasn't an overriding issue back then amongst the student base, believe it or not. The majority of that audience were more cognizant and accepting of a code of ethics that contrasted with other college campuses (this same code of ethics now being scorned by many 'insiders'). The world has changed so much in less than 30 years. And so many 'insiders' prefer the larger culture over remaining a 'peculiar people.'
@@SuperTotoro3 the world has changed, yet the commandment to love everybody is still strong, and unchanging. Compassion, non judgmental attitude, gospel inclusiveness, etc. We have to be careful not to be the blocking stone to our brothers and sisters who are different.
@@SuperTotoro3 I agree. It's GOD'S code of ethics that people thumb their noses at. Mormon 9:9 For do we not read that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and in him there is no variableness neither shadow of changing. 🤍🕊 We're to love one another as Jesus loves us, BUT we're NOT to compromise our principles in the process💫
Very true indeed. "The devil Satan selects his disciples when they are idol. And Jesus Christ selects His disciples when they are busy mending nets or casting bets..." Nothing can be more true than this.
This talk covered every evil that is plaguing society in this very day! We have let the devil win in too many ways and are now reaping the consequences. May we turn away from sin before it's too late. This may be one of the most important talks ever!
Thank you so much for sharing this most needed to hear talk. President Faust just laid out what’s happening right now. Thank God for prophets, and continuous revelations🙏.
He speaks the truth with no fear of offending anyone but the Devil! This sermon is so needed especially 30 years later when political correctness and snowflake reactions silence us for fear we might offend or cause someone to feel "unsafe".
Wow!!! Spoken in 1994. It's December 29th 2022. Not only did this talk age well but it was prophetic! The title describes our whole world today. I needed to hear this. I now know it's ok to speak truth regardless of the perceived safety of others feelings. If this upset you, just wait until you are rejected by the very God you offended by making every effort to accommodate the devil. Ironic...
"It does not matter how small the sins are, provided that their cumulated effect is to edge man away from the light and out into nothing. Indeed the safest road to hell is the gradual one." The Screwtape Letters is an insightful book.
If you haven’t listened to a BYU talk given by James E Faust in 1994 entitled “Trying to Serve the Lord Without Offending the Devil”, you should, it is well worth the time.
I don’t think it’s really possible to serve god and not upset the devil I did thought about this so many times I generally don’t want see angry beings it’s uncomfortable to be honest the idea trying not make the devil get angry and pleasing god it’s like juggling between the two it’s like walking on a zebra crossing going in and out between the light and the dark . I struggled for years I was afraid both the devil and god I actually did for a while served both which caused Lukewarm spiritual state I wanted to right things but too afraid of offending anyone which caused comprised suppression of righteousness. We need choose who we serve it’s impossible to please both.
I miss the days of speaking frankly and truthfully, before political correctness caused walking on eggshells. Try telling people today that there is a devil and that he is behind the filth of society and watch people explode.
Joseph Smith was a profit, and all mankind will have a chance to repent in God's presence if not in this lifetime,I believe that there should be no prejudice in the church, love brought me into the church,I am a straight man, however I believe we have to love those that are lost and not condemn them to hell, loving God with all your heart soul and might and allow God to serve the justice to never judge anyone which I still do,but I recognize it now,if a gay man are women is willing to follow the commandments including the chastity law, they should have the opportunity to be baptized into the church, after all Jesus Christ said he who is not guilty of sin cast the first stone,he is the only man not guilty yet he didn't cast a stone,we have an obligation to love everyone without bias of any kind,,that's true commitment to the covenant, that's the gentleness of Jesus Christ ..

This speech needs to be shouted from the rooftops. These words are so needed today. I love President Faust.
"...the people were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one having authority..."
relevant to BYU today
Hearing his words through the lens of 2022 is an extra powerful testimony of living prophets and apostles. I’m thankful for stumbling across this gem!
Children are God's

One of The Most Powerful Talks, Ever!! I Miss President James E. Faust-
Thank you for your courage to speak the truth !!! We miss his great speeches.
I miss all the Brethen from back when Pres.Kimball led the Church. We so need leaders like Ezra T. Benson in our present day.

He knew what he said would be unpopular to the college crowd but he said it anyway. So needed and so much more applicable to our day than ever.

This talk needs SHARED AND RE-SHARED!!!
People really need to get a clue because we've gotten SO FAR out there from where we need to be 🙄
How lucid and applicable these talk principles stays for our very present days!!! Great talk!

This is SO relevant! He might have spoken these words yesterday! My goodness. I will ponder this wisdom.
How timely his speech was then, but even more so now!
What a great speaker and teacher of Christ
Thank you so much for sharing this most needed to hear talk. President Faust just laid out what’s happening right now. Thank God for prophets, and continuous revelations🙏.
So awesome. I miss these WWII vets who spoke so boldly against sin. Surely many today will find offense at this gem.
This is an excellent talk. Hard to believe it is from 1994 because it is completely relevant today!!
It's beautiful feeling to hear simple and not twisted truths😊. Thank you 💓

AMEN 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
AMEN🙏🏽
Amazing truths. The world would be better off with more men like him.
Every young person needs to hear this talk. The Devil has been let loosed and is destroying the hearts and souls of mankind.
Wow, as always, perfectly timed for our day! I love that the GREATEST evidence of prophetic counsel is that it ALWAYS comes to pass. Amen 🙏🏽
It’s 2022 and it’s so relevant
James E. Faust is an inspired leader 🙏🏼 though this talk is decades old, these doctrines will never be antiquated
Wow, this is great. Should be replayed at Gen Conf Saturday night.
What a timely reminder.
So much wisdom in this talk! And I think that we need to follow this counsel even more now than when he gave this talk!
Thanks for posting! This is a great message- just as relevant today as the day he gave it.
Fantastic and maybe more relevant than ever!
Awesome talk.
I so much miss the days when right and wrong was more apparent. Today nobody wants to offend anybody, let alone the devil, especially with the truth.
Love this. Thank you for uploading. President Faust is so missed.
Amazing talk and so very appropriate for today as well.
Great message! Thank you for uploading this powerful talk. It's definitely what we need more than ever.
I needed to hear this today. What a great reminder.

Can’t serve two masters gets me thinking every time I review this powerful talk. Thank you Elder Faust!

Know thy enemy so you may not be deceived . Fortify thyself like Captain Moroni .
One of the greatest talk ever held
Thank you ❤️
What a great talk, what an absolutely great talk.
Powerful ❤
This is one of the most powerful and prescient talks I have ever heard.
He speaks unpopular truths. I'm not sure if current church leaders would have the courage to say them today.

Serving the Lord without offending the devil.
Or, as Jeffrey R Holland said more recently, Live the gospel as conspicuously as you can.
Amen
