I will always consider the day I had my Patriarchal blessing as one of my foundation stones of testimony. I felt the Spirit so strong as the Patriarch laid his hands on my head. A feeling I can never deny. At the young age of 19 I know Heavenly Father was giving me guidance to bless my life and help me along life’s journey. I will never forget how I felt….ever. The priesthood power is real and my Patriarchal blessing continues to bless my life 30+ years later. Might I add it blesses me most when my heart and mind are open and I am searching in humility for guidance. He is not very far away. My blessing helps me draw close every time I read and ponder it. ❤️👍
I'm a 44 y. o. father of 3. at 15 I did the best I knew how at the time to prepare for mine. that mostly meant massive efforts to keep myself morally clean...very hard at that age. it was worth every effort. it was the most intense spiritual experience of my life for years to come, and informs my life to this day, especially as a father and husband. faithfully seek it out, and be prepared.

This comes at an interesting time. I've been thinking these blessings were wishful thinking by old guys. They are not. I feel certain, even now, that God looks upon me with anticipation of a Father who has great plans, some large, some small, but plans nonetheless.
Profound when he speaks of members of the same family having different lineages...the blood of one tribe may flow in one member and the blood of another tribe flow in another. This is what the DNA tests are telling us today. I have Native American genes. One sister does also, and another doesn't. One sister has more Irish genes than I do. Another instance of the Lord telling us things by prophecy that are later confirmed by science.
I know you post is old but I just want to ask if I could, what you thought if Pres. Nelson's talk about no more " ites" or labels . How then are the tribes in one's blessing even going to matter? What do you think it means for prophecy?
@@lynnpayne9519 Hey- I read your comment just now as I help my son prepare for his own blessing. We are not divided by tribes the way that the world divides one another into groups. The lineage is important because it can help identify responsibilities and purpose in your life that you get to be a part of AS WELL AS identifying the blessings that are yours through that lineage. Seeking and finding those blessings can be really exciting when you realize that you are part of a huge family with a purpose! I think that we will see more tasks by lineage when the Savior returns. Check out Abraham 2 about the gospel blessings to all.
