    It’s inward, yes. Them getting comfortable with being a persona. Also, I think BTS was also surrounded by fake love in the kpop industry. No-one is themselves and BTS has to stay true to themselves. They also were surrounded by those who just want to be their friend because they’re getting famous.

    • @DestructiveMediaYT
      @DestructiveMediaYT  Год назад +6

      It must be hard when you are famous to know who your true friends are, people love to use others for status and money.

    It's probably already been explained but the scenes (including the candy scene) have to do with the larger BTS UNIVERSE (BU) that span across their Love Yourself albums, a video game, and two books of notes. Its a story that they are now making into a series with actors playing the boys' characters. I can't wait to see it because it was never really finished.

    Welcome back Claude! Such a good choice to show him stylistic speaking. I know there are going to be a ton of comments already about the meanings in the MV. This MV is part of the BU (Bangtan Universe) which follows this fictional storyline that runs through a bunch of BTS' albums and it includes a webtoon and some mini movies. It's massive and very complicated. Many of the references have to do with the these fictional storylines of these characters that share the same names with the guys. As always thank you for a great reaction!

    • @DestructiveMediaYT
      @DestructiveMediaYT  Год назад +1

      Yeah, I don't know much about the BU, but I did tell him it was about a story in a fictional universe they created.

    Hi Claude! So about the chocolate bar... someone corrects me if I'm wrong but I would sum it up as the representation of attachment issues, compulsion, addiction ...
    In the BTS Universe, J-Hope's character gets abandoned by his mother as a kid and the only thing she gives him before abandoning him is a chocolate bar... since that day, he's been developing this psychosomatic compulsive behavior of eating chocolate bars I guess to compensate from that loss and abandonment, maybe to feel close to his mother again...
    So it's an image for me that illustrates that some things we think we love, obsessions or addictions (forms of fake love) can stem from a traumatic event and the ways we find sometines to try and deal with it are avoidance to face the trauma, not solving the issue and can be destructive

  • @candicesmith-mackenzie6303
    @candicesmith-mackenzie6303 Год назад +5

    I agree with what others have stated. They have become so famous that they can't trust what people want from them or they have fear that people won't like their true selves. Even Kpop and the fandom has put restrictions on them and who they are perceived to be.
    Then, on top of that, they are talking about addictions. Like people who substitute, for example, food, drugs, scrolling on a phone for love. (In the BU, Hobi is given a candy bar by his mother, who leaves him. He then equates the candy bar for motherly love 😢 note, its even more horrible the way she does it in the storyline)
    I think that them being 7 has made the navigation of stardom better for them. They aren't going through it alone.
    😘💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🫰🏻

    I think the difference is about support and fandom. I like a ton of genres and songs by random bands. But i became a huge fan of Dir en grey (Japanese prog rock/metal) for a decade before finding BTS and adopting them as well. I like music. I'll give new stuff a chance. But im not going to invest my time, money and deeper interest in music that doesn't catch my attention. These two bands have created a vast amount of music (their genres are so different that everything but country is coovered between just these two lol). And I would say 95% of what they created I like. If I could find more bands that scratched my itch of varied massive musical portfolios with me enjoying 90% of what they put out? Sure I'd get into it! But i haven't. And on top of that, these are both bands with MISSIONS. I value messages in music and a great deal of depth. It matters to me that the artist is doing it to say something than get famous and make money, and seeing the behind the scenes of some bands has soured me on enjoying more than a song or two.
    I think there's also a difference in the way some people approach their passions. For some, their hobbies and interests are all consuming. Some are dabblers. Dabblers enjoy a bit of everything but tend to not throw a ton of their heart and emotion into a thing the same way. There's absolutely no right or wrong way to enjoy things, and it's okay if you don't resonate with the sort of emotional investment people who are fans of a very limited number of musical acts get. That's why there's so much great music out there! So everyone can enjoy it whichever way their brain chemistry has them set up for 😊 some of us just like what we like the way we like it,and would rather everyone stop trying to tell us how to enjoy stuff. I'm almost 40 lol I know myself and what makes me happy and how, and I figured out I don't care for kpop in highschool when i was trying to fit in with my friends. Imagine my surprise when I'm a decade into my career and stumbled onto bts 😆

    I love this song so much as it shows the struggle that the members are going through. I know you had said you didn't know what the pile of Snickers that J-Hope was laying on meant or why it was significant and that you would look it up. I'm not sure if you've done that already but I did and then I remember the significance of the Snickers bar. When he was 8yrs old his mom took him to the fair, and told him she had a surprise for him and to close his eyes. He did and she put a Snickers bar in his hand. After he had his eyes closed for a while he opened them and she was gone and had abandoned him at the fair. So in my opinion he equates or had equated Snickers with the feeling of fake love and not being loved by his mom cause he doesn't want to fail her.

    U might relate better if you don’t think of it in context of romantic relationships. It can be with yourself. One fan theory is that this is a song about their relationship with the music industry. That’s the art of their lyrics. It applies to so many different scenarios and not what we automatically go to
