I love your diatribe about don't judge people based on their material things... Their finances could be trash. This is true. We look like we have nothing bc we choose to live frugal and wear schlebby clothes but both of our girls (under 4 years of age) have their college paid off, we are set on retirement bc of our investments and savings and we're debt free and the same age as you. We're both engineers and made smart choices on our finances but we're not poor even though we appear so. We have lots of friends who make less but have bigger houses, nicer cars... But their finances are in rough shape. So... Perception is not reality 😍😍😍😍
Hi Carolyn. I love ❤ your finance setup. Can you tell me were did you get the scallop pocket in the front of your book. It may be the 3rd or fourth item. Thanks
I love your videos. I'll never understand why people think they have the right to ask super personal questions or judge why someone lives the way they do. It's not their business. TFS
Love the setup!!! I have an a5 that I am using for finances but I haven't finished setting it up yet 😭 I am a teacher and have a lot of debt so this year is definitely the year of not buying every single thing that I want
You can do it!! Debt isn't all bad, but I will say that having had all kinds of debt in my past, getting rid of it was the best decision I've ever made!
Hi Carolyn, thank you so much for this video. I'm sure many people will find it useful. I enjoyed it even though I don't plan on setting up a finance planner myself. You probably know all this. I just wanted to share a few thoughts below in case somebody finds them useful. 1) I totally get it how you feel that personal finance should stay exactly that-personal. To me, it's similar to any kind of other very sensitive information: like your info about physical and/or mental health, therapy notes, any kind of NDA agreements. Even though my daily work is related to clients' personal finance, I still feel a bit concerned when people openly share their financial information online. I know that we are all different when it comes to how comfortable we are at sharing different things. It's just not something that I would do or would recommend anybody doing... If somebody wants to share their financial setup with the inserts filled out, I would suggest them to create some fake case numbers rather than showing their own info or showing some of their categories with the actual numbers blurred or covered... But I also feel like it's too much hassle. 2) As all financial planning books say, it doesn't matter how much money you make. The balance that you have at the end of the month matters. Let's say, somebody can make $200K per year but spend $220K per year, and they will be $20K in the red. While somebody else may make $50K per year and only spend $45K. This second person will save $5K and be in a much better situation than the first person making four times their money.
Personal finance can bring out the worst in some people. You are so smart to keep your information to yourself.
