Tiger 131 England : Knowing that the Allies were preparing a major push toward Tunis, the Germans launched a spoiling attack on the night of 20/21 April 1943.[3] Four points were attacked simultaneously, including a pass on the north side of a hill called Djebel Djaffa.[4] Two Tigers and several other tanks advanced through this pass before dawn, and were gradually driven back during the day. Tiger 131 was hit by three shots from 6-pounders from British Churchill tanks of A Squadron, 4 Troop of the 48th Royal Tank Regiment (RTR). A solid shot hit the Tiger's gun barrel and ricocheted into its turret ring, jamming its traverse, wounding the driver and front gunner and destroying the radio. A second shot hit the turret lifting lug, disabling the gun's elevation device. A third shot hit the loader's hatch, deflecting fragments into the turret. The German crew bailed out, taking their wounded with them and leaving the knocked-out but still driveable and largely intact tank behind.[5] The tank was secured by the British as they captured Djebel Djaffa hill.[6] Tiger 131 was the first intact Tiger tank captured by British forces.
Saumur's Tiger I is being restored to running condition and should be operational in 2025, making the Saumur museum the proprietor of TWO working tiger tanks, a I and a II, alongside several other running panthers, panzer IV's and others.
One more to include is the Geschützwagen Tiger (Gille 17/21) I was made for the most part, they were still working out issues, but both the gun and chassis existed, it was captured. Then latter on scrapped, by the British of course.
Kubinka has the second best tiger collection including tiger 1, tiger 2, Ferdinand, jadgtiger and sturmtiger the only reason there second is because the tiger at bovington is in running condition
Even if I see a person next to these machines, it's hard for me to understand just how big they actually are. I really want to visit a tank museum, and the one in Bovington would be hella cool. Shame I'm poor lol

That working Königstiger deserves to be in a movie and to be treated better than Tiger 131 in Fury. They should both be stars in their own right. Also it would be fantastic to see some of these non runners with their own motive power. Surely the Maybach HL230 blueprints/plans are still available?………
The Australian one is going to be a runner. They are currently working on restoring the engine and finding as many original parts as possible. It's going to take some time but it will run. They already hired some guys who specialize in tank engines to restore/fabricate parts for them. You can find it on their RUclips channel.
Three months ago on April 1st, the Tiger II P arrived at the Arsenalen Swedish Tankmuseum in Näsbyholm after the Bovington Tank Museum loaned the tank. The Tiger II P will remain there until 2023 according to their RUclips page.
@@kierenboimufc5940 There's one Tiger II currently running. That Tiger II is located in France. There is a second one though that will be in running condition in the future which is a restoration project in Switzerland.
The Tiger II P is the designation for a Tiger II equipped with a more curved turret produced by Henschel. The turret was first put on a Tiger II in late 1943 with up to 50 models receiving the turret. The reason so few were equipped with the turret is due to the 'Shot Trap' made by the curvature that can bounce a shell into the roof of the hull. The decision was quickly made to replace the turret with the more popularly known production turret which has a flat face and significantly removed the chance of a Shot Trap.
Why would they do that to King Tiger 332, why not keep it good and make a replica, that made me sad they did that to a REAL Tiger 2 tank… I even had a model of that exact Tiger all I can say is “Look how they massacred my boy” And the same goes for the parts of the Tiger 1/2 tanks( excluding the model stuff)
There is a series of videos on utube of its rebuild. It was in pieces when they got it having been blown to bits in russia but it is all one tank apart from some bits they had to fabricate. During the restoration they did find the serial number and have sourced what records exist to follow its history and in particular its service and maintenance records! They dont have the suspension or drivetrain but are on the hunt to find suitable components to finish the job and get it drivable again!
Damn close to running though and all the work they did was to a great standard. They have to be one of the best restoration teams in the world today. Amazing collection.
Credo che l'unico Tiger marciante e praticamente integro in tutte le sue parti sia quello in Inghilterra (il 131 credo ) gli altri purtroppo credo che siano solo dei gusci vuoti.....

The tiger 1 from Ausarmour collection actually has a serial number that they found while restoring the tank. The serial number is 251114
Considering that's the serial number for Saumur's tiger... DOUBT.
@@lsq7833 they have a video about it, go watch it
If you are going to add captions - please leave them on long enough so we have a chance of reading them - this footage was way too fast !!
I'll take that into note when I make another one of these videos.
Exactly. I put the speed to 0.25
Tiger 114 is being brought up to running condition and should be mobile in 2025.
Same thing for the tiger 1 at the Australian armor and artillery museum:)

The Wheatcroft Collection is restoring two Tiger 1's, two King Tigers and they have parts for an elefant
tiger 1 e serial no so pool it not as well preserved as the others tigers
Tiger 1 is the best looking tank I would live in it
0:12 why do they have to restore them leave the battle scars it just looks like a new tank kinda lame.
Because that tank was literally rebuilt from the ground up.
Commander of tiger 131 :
So did you press the big red button to explode the tank?

the tiger 1 in saumur is getting fully restored to running condition

That King Tiger is the last restoration project in the video
