- This video takes a look at Hasbro's Generation 1 Transformers that combine to form one larger robot. There are timestamps below that will take you directly to each of the five sets I have from the mid '80s plus a size comparison at the end. Also, for photos and scans you can visit the Vault 1541 blog: www.vault1541.....
01:23 Constructicons - Devastator
09:58 Stunticons - Menasor
18:29 Combaticons - Bruticus
26:08 Protectobots - Defensor
33:49 Aerialbots - Superion
40:27 Sizing Them Up
Menisor and construction con is always my favorite g1. Noting can replace them . I know third party does those but it’s the nostalgia g1 I grew up with will always be mine favorite
Menasor vs. Superion, Bruticus vs. Defensor. That's how it was set up in the original animated series. Oh, and Devastator vs. Omega Supreme. Even though Omega Supreme wasn't technically a combiner, in the traditional sense.
Devastator also fought the Dinobots
it should've been raiden but hasbro and the cartoons never thought he would work as a good toy for kids. they didnt think kids liked trains.
@@jeremygray462 Raiden vs Menasor would’ve been heat ngl
this video took me back... an excellent collection.
Greetings from Honduras, amazing video!!!
Thank you!
My man, there are many many more. Also amazing video!!!!
I’m only one constructicon away from having a full g1 devastator
The official g1 pairings were Devastator and Omega Supreme (though I think it should have been the dinobots if they had a combined form), Menasor and Superion, Defenceor and Bruticus, Abominous and Computron. Predaking didn't have a rivals autobot group, though they did match him up against Sky Linx a few times.
No i think the dinobots combiner wwere supposed to fight predaking
Sky Lynx was Predakings nemesis though Predacons were supposed to also be the threat to Dinobots.
bruticus and superion looks the best combiner for G1 in my opinion.
Awesome video man
Thank you!
first of all this video had to be done and I'd do another with all the others combiners...
1) I saw somewhere a picture where you have menasor+stunticons aside superion+aerialbots; superion's legs weren't spread out (I'm referring of the thing you do with silverbot before to attach the 2 aerialbots as legs: you move silverbot's legs at its flanks by showing that black pieces under his torso alright) exploiting the entire lenght of legs... gaining height - there's a pleasant vertical effect cause it is supposed the flying dude to be light (idk if doing the same thing to other combiner would be either possible - maybe for lack of space between legs - or pleasant to see).
2) as for menasor I agree with the need to resize limb-stunticon dudes in oder to be as big as other autobots such as hound, not bumblebee which is mini of course. Just this adjustment could restore a better-balance-sized game (wouldn't be bad to have motormaster as big as optimus though, I edited a image file where I put motormaster behind optimus creating a perspecting game: sizes are good and enjoyable).
This last point reminds something I thought: you should reengineer all g1 toys by adding just little adjustments, but as such they could create a "masterpiece process" e.g.
a) resize everything at the proper greatness as already written about menasor... if we take a bulldozer, that's way far bigger than a car so devastator should surely be bigger... military transport units (combaticons) are bigger than a car so same speech... planes are bigger so superion can be bigger... a problem would be in defensor case: can be motorcycle-groove as big as an ambulance? yes if we do a little change: groove should be sidecar and with a car such as streetwise their relativily little size will be compensate if we put both as arms (groove and streetwise are arms on which you attach forearms to gain a proper size when in gestalt mode). Blade-helicopter is adequately big, an ambulance can be big. Fire-truck hotspot is certainly bigger and that could create a defensor really tall or maybe the aforementioned forearms to attach on groove-streetwise can be parts you detach from hotspot.
Sizes a real serious problem - optimus and some autobots should enter jetfire...
all should enter omega supreme...
altogether should enter fortress maximus. A reengineering process "to masterpiece" all those g1 toys should start to resize adequately each dude. A relatively miniaturization is due. BUT as I wrote in another video about same topic referring to sludge, I told how you can multiply dinosaur mode's size relatively to sludge's robot one - buy folding various time part ot it. Miniaturization and folding to facilitate the "masterpiece" process of sizing G1-toys.
b) putting better junctions into limbs (the most famous flop is ginrai optimus prime powermaster's arms ya know...
c) adding some more details (better faces, silhouettes... I mean optimus prime is squared as a toy, but his cartoon-torso shows chest waist and so forth with a dynamic silhouette).
So "to masterpiece" old g1 toys could be an interesting thing. I'll buy everything if so.
As for another video with all the other combiners I'll put straight the fact you have a specific nemesis for each one of them:
devastator V omega supreme (a combiner? YES, a missile some rails and a tank merge in it)
menasor V superion
bruticus V defensor
abominus V computron
seaking V raiden
predaking V volcanicus.
Great collection, my wife glared at me and said **NO**
Not cool from her. She doesn''t own you
nice video, thanks!
Missing so many.
defersor so handsome and best one
Some corrections:
Devastator: That green piece is suppose to be a crotch piece.
Rub Symbol (on Dragstrip): It was a gimmick to show if the figure was an Autobot or Decepticon and was prominent on most of the toys. They were heat activated (like a heated mug where you would put coffee in and it would show a special design)
Don't recall what I said without re-watching but I believe I'm missing the crotch piece, unless I have it and don't realize it. It can be tough to keep all the parts organized, especially the individual character weapons.
The rub symbol is more of a safety protection measure, just so you can tell if your figure is a knockoff or not, but you got a point there
The heat activated color changing crystals were a patented process owned by hasbro at the time
@@martinefrensoquigomez7835 no it was a gimmick that hasbro came up with. I have ko g1 transformers from china and they have rub symbols
@@jeremygray462 but do they show the correct symbol? That's how you can probably tell they're KOs
Predaking is the illest
with bruticus on vortex push his legs back so they r not to close to bruticus body. every video I watch no one does that. and with defensor first aids legs need turned back like u r putting him in van mode and then pull apart alittle. that's y your arms are longer then each other
I can see you getting popular soon kinda like thew and jobby
I'm not sure about that but thanks for the support! There has a been a little bit of a rise in subscribers of late though.
Where is abomnise, computron, and predaking?
While I own a lot of stuff, way too much in fact, I don't own everything, sorry!
@@Vault1541 it's cool. Just had to bring up them G1 combiner's.
Coolio
👏👏👏👏👏
Where's computron and abominous?
I don't recall those and I guess they didn't come up in my research. It looks like they released in 1987 so I must have stopped buying the Transformers toys at that time.
No predaking, too bad
And the tallest is Bruticus!
no superion is
okie
Menasoar is cool as drawing, but a hot mess IRL
Transformers g1
Si
Its dead end thé left arm
devastator G1 is the worst combiner , poor connections , that after a few years were falling off by just breathing , Defensor was far more rigid
can i get a shouout ima fan
You really should do more research on the figure names before reviewing them, just saying
Do you want cash for Total Toys???????
Wonderful
