Thx for the Support thus far!
this is the best review of this board out there, and I do believe I watched all of them
Great review. It was pleasure to watch. Great that you are putting moments when you are actually riding it
Nice review......
That Sims board to your right brings back memories.
I used to make all the screens for the Sims shop back in the day. Neon for days!!
Great review!!! Sheesh..this board is amazing!
Thank You! 👍👍 That was super helpful!
Good option to replace 15 custom x? Mainly going as fast as possible - bombing the mountain, no park or pipe.
100% , that's a perfect situation for this deck! Prep that race base right and go!
Yup this and the jones apollo
How does this deck ride in tight turns and trees? Thanks!
For the guy who loves to carve, charge, and side hit. This or the Mega Merc?
IMHO the Mega Merc !
BSOD or Banked Country for all mountain freeride? Looking for something that can handle everything including boilerplate groomers( no real freestyle though). I'm open to other options as well. Thanks!
@Tribute Boardshop @Mark F. / @Shane J. : So... the choice is getting pretty hard now, between this Black Snowboard of Death ; the Mega Merc, the Super D.O.A, the Korua Shapes Otto... My personal context/situation if I may : So I'm 41 ; 185 lbs ; 5'9'' ; 11.5 US boots ; (157 to 163cm (wide)) boards ; and mostly riding Quebec's (Canada) ''not a lot of snow'' resorts, sometimes Vermont, U.S.A... I love carving and great grips on ice for sure, snowier days too of course... but also a fun/playful poppy (enough) board, side piste jumps for great old school grabs and 180-360s here and there, (really not hitting much rails and/or large kickers in the Parks anymore), etc. I usually keep my boards for a good 7 years. My experience for 20-25 years has been : Kemper Kid 133 ; Burton Custom 149 ; Burton Air/Freestyle 155 ; Burton Custom 160.5 and Burton Custom X 162 W. I kind of wanna try a new brand! :) *Mark F. and/or someone from Tribute Boardshop or here on the web : any (stronger) recommendation? Also open to any other recommendations : (ex.: Capita Kazu Kokubo Pro ; K2 Instrument (or Alchemist) ; Yes. Standard (or PYL) ; Jones Ultra Mountain Twin ((or (Ultra) Flagship ; Stratos or Aviator 2.0 LTD)) ; GNU Banked Country ; Lib Tech Jamie Lynn (or TRS) ; Nitro Team Pro Wide ; Rome National (or Ravine))... Thank you so much in advance.
You're all over the place on board types. I'll add to the options: capita mega merc. It's allegedly like last year's bsod. Better tortional flex and more pop but less damp than this year's bsod. If I needed 1 all arounder that might be it
On second glance I see you already listed mega merc. That's your board right there
@@stevef4930 I hear you! I even annoy myself to tell you the truth! So many boards enumerated and details. Sorry for that and thank you so much for your advice!! Appreciate it. Cheers, have a good one!
@@jfhebert35 just ordered a bsod myself. If I hit more jumps it would have been an easy decision for the mega merc but I charge hard all day and only hit jumps every once in a while
Would burton cartel x be ideal for this board?
I have cartels on mine and it feels great. Probably want a stiffer boot for toe side carving IMO
how much different is it from last years
Would this ride well for me in the 159? I’m 5’9” size 10 boot and 199 weight…
What boot & binding would you recommend for this?
Hi,
Will definitely get this year BSOD, but I am sill really not sure on the size. Need help.
I am 182cm (6”11), 78kg (172lbs) and boots US10.5.
I have been riding for 20 years, and plan on using this board as an all mountain, do it all board. For fast big carves on groomer, powder, trees and some side hits.
Cannot decide between 157w, 159 and 162.
Would really appreciate any insight. What would you recommend?
Thanks!
Sorry obviously it is 5"11 not 6"11...
Mark, I would really like having your input. I do value your opinion.
How does this compare to the mega merc and orca?
Would you guys say a 161W at 26.7 is okay at 6ft 155lbs and size 11 photons with L bindings? I have a 58 custom camber that works just fine but I want something with a bit more drive and width for really getting into serious carving and some powder runs as well. I live in the sunshine state which makes finding much less trying boards nearly impossible. I rode a 62 wide Burton process for a couple weeks a couple seasons ago and didn’t remember having any issues but I know that board is like 26cm with mostly rocker. Im not really scared of larger boards but at 161 with 26.7 and some camber in there I just want to make sure that it’s not a big leap from my 58 custom or the 62W process. Neither board has given me any issues but between my weight/height/boot size I just wanna get a pro opinion before I grab a board that wide. Keep on keepin on 🤙🏾
Or would a regular 162 at 26.2 with slightly wider tip and tail make more sense?
HI - Yes , if you have been riding a 62 W previously without issue then the 61W BSOD will be just fine. Do keep in mind you are moving up to a slightly stiffer core and torsional flex with the Capita . Your weight is on the low end but that will make for a lively ride !! Waist size is also perfect for Large bindings!! Cheers
@@tributeboardshop thank you 🙌🏾 , have guys gotten the chance to try out the new Mega Death? Really interested on how that boards going to go.
What bindings you guys like to pair with these?
The Team seemed most stoke with the Atlas on this one!
Atlas all the way. I have the 20th anniversary and tested the 2022. Atlas all the way. More so with the new one.
And for big feet?
They options in WIDE for sure !
I didn't think this board would be good at all on rails.
Size 11 210 should I go 162, 61w or 165w 🥲 help…
Your height an important factor. Also, your riding style and type of terrain / snow you are out in the most. ( East N.America / West etc. ) All 3 are definatley candidates. Personally, I'd go 161W. If you are Taller than 6' , (183 cm) AND an agressive rider , then the 165W. If you mostly ride firm groomers / park etc...the 162 could be a good fit.
