Lujack was one of my early inspirations. I blame him for my 30+ years in radio. Also -- Liked Bob Kennedy a lot. He was another one who died 'way too young. I'm surprised there isn't more of him on RUclips.
Charlotte W Good to hear from you! Your grandfather was always so positive and good-humored. I wish I'd had the chance to get to know him personally. It was always enjoyable to watch him on 7. I'll remember his friendly "Heeeeeeey!" forever. If you or your family have other videos of him, I'd love it if you would post some.
That show has intersecting history after Kennedy died the show became A M Chicago and had a number of host like Steve Edwards (now in L A ) and Oprah Winfrey ( wonder what ever became of her ? lol)
Steve Edwards and Sandi Freeman were AM Chicago's first co-hosts, followed by Robb Weller, then Oprah. Bob Kennedy was supposed to have been a part of ABC's AM America. people.com/archive/her-husbands-big-break-then-he-died-and-bev-kennedy-carries-on-vol-3-no-20/ Obvious why Larry Lujack was "SUPERRRJOCK!"
I remember Susan Peterson hosting a tribute show after Bob passed, and they played a clip of Bob singing, "Try to Remember." The singing group "The Four Quarters" do a great job (video on RUclips). When I made my Indie movie, "Sisters Go Y trailer 2" on RUclips, I tried to put my passion into the movie just as Bob did on his show. Bob just lit up the screen; he and Susan were a great on screen pair. TV at her best.
Ineresting that the host was talking about these guys getting to old to relate to their audience. Umm..."Uncle Lar" was around quite a long time. I don't think you have to be 16 to relate to 16 year-olds.
That comb over and the mustache that someone told him would take peoples eyes off.
Asking all to opine on "American Pie?" Oh no, not again! The only song where I preferred the faded-out short version.
I listened to the tooth fairy on armed forces radio in Korea 1979-81 with the usaf. I'm from Dekalb, ill.
Larry Lujack and Bob Collins were good wls and wgn the day when radio was good 👍
This would be extremely dangerous. Who would want to start a fire with a flashlight.

Wow, what a trip down faded memory lane. Didn't recognize Fred Winston. Was this too early for Sirott?
John Burger
Sirott may have been at 'BBM at this time. I could be wrong. It's happened before ...
I just looked it up. BS was PT at BBM-FM. He didn't become a "major" player until 1973.

Anyone remember who would do a segment titled 'The Last Angry Man' on WLS? Hilarious rants but I can't remember who did them.
It sounds like somebody is building a set off camera.
Larry Lujak’s hair 😆

...nobody over 40 there, my ass!
Lmao
I remember Kennedy's program late at night.

Bill Bailey was the best.
I was on this show back in 73. Is it possible to find more shows? We were on the one where we brought our dogs.
Hmmm, Fred Winston without a mustache.
Tip for next time: don't hook up the springs of the seats to the sound board.
JJ Jeffrey!
No color?
