I lived down the street in Palatine, IL from Larry and played baseball with his son, Taber. Really enjoyed getting to know Uncle Lar for many years. He was such a character in and out of the studio. RIP to the only Superjock.
I worked for our local humane society and ALWAYS tuned in to Animal Stories with uncle Larr and lil Tommy.There were times I simply had to pull over somewhere, because I was roaring from laughter... Those were fun days!
Boy, do I remember listening to Animal Stories..... In particular, I remember me & my younger brother in our backyard with a portable radio, laffing our asses off to the story about the robber & his German Shepherd.
Memories as a teenager in Chicago. My mom's friend got into the animal stories news. She had a central vacuum cleaner, when going to vacuum the bird cage out with the bird inside, she accidentally sucked the bird into the hose and it died. OMG. RIP Larry.
Thank you so much for posting these. I used to leave study hall and go out to my car in HS to listen to these everyday. So funny, even by todays standards. I loved hearing the beginning of the show, took me back.

Such a sad loss for Chicago tonight... I will never forget that AWWWHOOOOOOO at the beginning of each show... Condolences to his Family. Sleep well, Uncle Lar.
my cousin in illinois has all the animal stories on vinyl, and he wouldn't cut loose of them if all hell broke loose. but i think i've got him talked into getting them burned on cd for me.
Anyone in the future who visits the gravesite of Larry Lujack, might I suggest leaving a shiny new dime on his tombstone to honor the years of laughs thanks to him and Lil Tommy. Thank you for the memories and helping to develop my sense of humor as a child.
does anyone know where I can find the one, I think it was 1985? They were talking about a golf course under construction in one of the Chicago suburbs. It was just an open forested area that they were clearing to build this golf course and all these poor little rabbits were running out onto the freeway and getting squashed. They started playing that audio clip from that bugs bunny episode where Elmer Fudd had his shotgun pointed down inside the hole and unbeknownst to him, bugs was standing behind him and he started this dialogue “oh you got me! Everything is getting dark. I’m gonna kick the bucket.” :)
@MikeSobran Dude! I know what you mean! There were shows where Uncle Lar and Lil Snot-Nosed Tommy had me ROTFLMFAO with pounding on the desk (and sometimes kicking the trash can). These guys really started my day!
Looking out the kitchen window woman in Australia saw a giant python eating her little Pekinese dog, ran outside...... . Wow, miss uncle Lar and little Tommy ever since they made me laugh until I cried and almost crashed my car on Rte 53 in Lombard, RIP.
