Thanks! Yep, this truck has it's original 226 "Super Hurricane" engine. A few years ago we had a 1948 Jeepster with a engine called the "Lightning 6". The Lightning 6 is significantly more rare than the later Super Hurricane or the F head Hurricane engine.
@@ericcoffedgp40I'm not familiar with the Lightning, but I remember the earlier 226 and vaguely the later "Super 226." I'm very familiar with the 161 F head from its application in the Kaiser Darrin & the Jeep station wagons.
@@HistoricBF All the engines are almost the same with minor differences. You can see the evolution of the engines through the years with each improvement they made. Pretty neat!

Yep, she's noisy! Got the cherry bomb side exit exhaust! There is also a exhaust leak where the pipe meets the manifold I will address as soon as I get the truck home. Squeaks and creaks too! Sheesh!😉
That's a beautiful truck. Love all the old noises from it - the low gurgle of the engine and all of the transmission sounds... it's great!
