    When I sell something I generally do a gut check of what I really need to get out of it, and list the price as "firm". I always make it very clear that the price isn't negotiable, I haven't had too much trouble doing it that way. I never make a killing on anything, but I also don't deal with the guy who only has a max budget of half the price. Also, in my experience, the person who will buy antique cars probably is an experienced buyer and knows what it's worth anyway. It is what it is, dealing with the public can be...challenging...I've been told patience is a virtue... It's a nice truck!

    • @redclaytraveler1949
      @redclaytraveler1949  6 месяцев назад +1

      I usually price things slightly higher than I want and then I have room to come down if necessary to my solid price. That has worked out well for me most of the time. Usually my price range is beyond that of the tire kickers but on this truck I have been slammed by them. lol The first few trucks I sold I had experienced folks buying them and that was very pleasant. Apparently none of the experienced folks are in the market right now. lol It is what it is, I’ll get it sold and I’ll get some fun content filmed while I do it. lol

    The problem with trying to sell old cars & trucks to old Men ( I've never sold one to old Women ) , is They still remember when they were new ( and what they sold for then ) !
    And They think it's worth less now !!!!

    I have a 56 willys truck thats been in family almost as long as me,same with my 48 CJ2A,my truck is torn down right now,cab and bed are off frame,cab doesnt need much,drivers side floor needs a panel,under cab neds a few panels,some dents in roof,bed is in bad shape,may get a new one for it or just build a nice flat bed for it,frame is stripped,trans/transfer case is torn apart,engine is apart,so is front axle,it had about an inch of slack between pinion and ring gear,I hear it hard to get play out without creating other problems,so may just install new gears into it,hopeing to get it back together and painted so I can drive it again within the next two years since my dad taught me how to drive in this truck!Hold the line on this truck,I know you have to put up with a lot of crap when trying to sell something these days,tell them Cash Talks,Bullshit Walks!Hope you guys get to keep it,cannot find the in this shape very often original!

And,would it make it to Nebraska?I love your rants by the way I was crying over here with the cheeto dust and fortnight😂 I was laughing to myself because I would say ''look, if I fix the choke cable it goes up another thousand. My older brother has epic rants as well he often refers to people lacking common sense as ''six toed knuckle draggers'' Loved your reference from Daniel by the way. You would feel better if you didn't have unrealistic expectations of market place clientele. Although I have to admit that while reading an ad ive accidentally sent the is this still available and had to resend a message whith profuse apologies. Also I've grown to love the haints that plague the background. Barking neighbor dogs, wind, roosters, fans, creaking doors. We dont wrestle against flesh and blood but background imps from hell😂 be well R.C.

      In the book of Daniel a hand appears and starts writing on the wall and no one can interpret it so they get Daniel and he says it means ''you have been weighed in the balance and have been found lacking ''then proceeds to tell them pretty much that God was going to tear their playhouse down...and he did.
