would you ever think about joining the department? its a great job and everyone is pritty nice their also in desember we have our parade of lights that start at 4 pm usually on a saturday have you seen it?
No at this time we are not looking to join a dept. We were in WLVAC when 9/11 happened and we haven't wanted to do EMS since then. Also with our schedules it would be tough to make the min amt of calls a rookie has to meet. I believe we have seen the Xmas lights.
after the parade we all went back to the firehouse. all the ronkonkoma firemen were gettin drunk and it was a lot of fun. being that my grandfather has been a member for 30 years, he doesn't drink anymore. it seems like all the younger guys drink more. durring the christmas parade last year, the cheef and another fireman wanted to stop at flanigens for a drink. i don't know if you hurd me and all of us, we had our sirens full blast at 11:00 or 11:30 at night. the parade was held on dec 13 2014 started at 4 pm. i am litterally right in frunt of a siren for 6 hours. no one, and i mean no one, can deel with that noise for that long. i know this fire department inside and out, i pritty much grew up around the firehouse, its a lot of fun behind the seens of all the parades and everything else!
kody mackey yes firefighters are known for their drinking...No we didn't hear you guys, I live closer to the park on Church Street. maybe if we were closer....lol.
***** yeah the ronkonkoma fd is also known for its hie pressure trucks. the saying is, hie pressure for ever! a cupple of years ago, on memorial day, at the memorial day barbicue, we had a cupple of fire fighters jump on the roof of the firehouse and dance to the 70s song, YMCA i am thinking about joining the explorers at the fire house. since i am completely blind, their are going to be a fiew things i might not be able to do. but i can do moste things. does this sound like a good idea?
10:29 is a patchougue fire department utility vehicle followed by the members of the Patchougue fire department and the liberty band followed by the rest of patchougue fire departments trucks
do you know anyone in the ronkonkoma fire department and my grandfather david saccente was the judge of the whole thing he disigned the shirts mugs and ran a every thing else he has bean a member sinse 1985 i believe.
Right now I don't know anyone in the dept. We live right by where the parade started so we were just spectators that day. We did run into a couple of judges right after the parade, didn't catch any names so we might have spoken to him. I am sure that when we marched in the 95th we probably met him.

It doesn't hurt to try. You might be able to do more than you think. :)
