Great video!! Can I ask a question though? When you move the vocal pitch up how do you keep it in key? I’m tryna record to a garage song atm and I can’t work out how to shift the vocals to get that higher pitch sound but for it to actually stay in key. I’d really appreciate some help! Thanks :)
Sure! Super simply - Record the vocals at the standard key or the root note (so if your song is in C, sing the lyrics at a straight C note) and then pitch them to match the melody after OR sing your standard vocal melody in key with the song, then chop and pitch the vocals an octave above and below for occasional syllables! With live vocals I often utilise Nectar 3 which will help you treat the vocals but also allow you to add harmonies in-keeping with your instrumental. Hope this helps! Checked out your channel too, awesome work!
@@WillHatton ah thanks so much ! Makes perfect sense! And ah thanks for checking my channel I really appreciate it! I’ve just uploaded another one but my next tune is a garage song so just tryna get all the info together before I jump in haha thanks a lot :)
You’re a great producer but the problem with almost all modern UKG (with the exception of Highrise) is it’s too clean and hifi. The OG UKG had a lot more grit and dirt to it ….. not necessarily by design, it was a limitation of the gear: nasty converters, cheap analog mixers, bad effects, dirty samplers, aliasing filters, aggressive compressors, romplers short on memory, it was all part of the sound.
This channel is dope Will. Keep up the good work!!
Will do!! Appreciate your support!
this is sick been learning on how to make ukg.
Nice! Let me know if you want to see what and what type of thing I can help you to understand!
@@WillHatton can you recreate the keys in with me by bass boy? I would love to learn that. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
