Exposure therapy can definitely work but the execution has to be more deliberate and progressively sequential or it is likely do more damage. Starting small and working your way up to something big helps the person realize their phobia was never worth having in the first place. Tyra is like "Oh you're afraid of styrofoam? Let's go to a shipping facility that is literally filled with it!" this would be like taking someone who was afraid of power tools to a hardware store.
