I have the first flow pro, and it also integrates with doc kit… so would love to see a comparison with the pro 1 vs the pro 2. I also wish they would add h.265 with apple log to the insta360 camera app.
The main two differences that I felt between the two was the design of the handle and gimbal made the whole thing feel a lot better and allows movements that the Flow Pro couldn’t do, but the biggest update is the tracking. It’s gotten even better than the first gen and stays locked on pretty much no matter what!
Thanks for making the video. I bought the last Insta 360 Flow gimbal, but I didn't really use it very much because getting video out of the app and working with was quite tedious. I'll probably give the Flow 2 a look and see if I would use it more.
How strong is the magnet and the lower end clip in holding the iPhone? Can it easy be bumped off if someone walks into it or if you’re recording while moving around a bumpy road.
The magnet between the phone mount and the gimbal is super strong and can be knocked and not fall off, but the MagSafe mount to your phone can be a little weak. Using a MagSafe case on your phone before mounting the MagSafe mount makes that connection much stronger!
I noticed this is lacking the built in cold shoe mount. Would love to see how it looks with a mic receiver attached. Because the first gen could not handle that extra weight. I don’t have the pro 1

I also record in Apple Log H265, and won’t be able to do that in Insta360 app. Hmm, I wish the tracking worked as well, but through the Dock Kit.
Yep, no more cold shoe. I think they see everyone using wireless mics with wireless receivers now that plug directly into your phone, which work great on here
Really wish these gimbals had better support for larger phones. My 15 Pro Max is quite heavy and large. Most of the popular gimbals can’t handle that unless you use the massive gimbals which I don’t want.
Can you tell if the flow 2 has the same clip as the original flow? It is annoying that the mag safe version costs more and isnt sold on amazon/bestbuy.. but I see them for sale for the original flow cheap. I wonder if the attachment is the same.

But this one knocks the spots off. And what a superb price point too. The full "Creator Bundle" kit here in the UK is £169.99 on Amazon. I nearly pulled the trigger on reflex alone. Do I need it, having already the first model? No. Do I want it ... *wimper* ... yes! So I'm now doing my utmost to not buy one ... because who needs two? Its tough, I tell ya. 😛😇

Thanks Bob! We’re not affected by the LA fires being down in San Diego, but the same high winds that caused those fires to burn so big do affect us, so we’re on the watch for fires down here in our area right now. Safe at the moment though!
Very similar, but physically the Flow 2 is a huge physical design improvement with the angles that the motors sit at, a much better handle and joystick design, and overall more robust. The software feature updates I’m hoping will come to the Flow 1 Pro through updates

I stand at the centre line on one side of the ground. Q1. Whats the max tracking distance for the insta360 Flow 2 Pro. Q2. Can I auto restrict and set the PAN action with some bounds from left corner to right corner of ground only Q3. Can I auto restrict and set the zoom range to a certain fixed level only (not zooming too much). Q4. Can I record 4k@60 or 4k@30 with the auto tracking and auto zooming feature turned ON on android phones (mine is Xiaomi 14 Ultra). Can you please create a video demoing how well it works for my use case above. I have tried XbotGo and Hohem iSteady and they fail at tracking football beyond 10 Metres.
For that, I would say you would for sure need to be in the app doing the tracking, but I’ll test it out next time I’m at one of my daughter’s soccer games. The field isn’t quite as large as a football field, but hopefully we’ll get some data on max distance!

Yeah, I sort of mean the Flow Pro Series is the only one that can do it and the Flow 2 Pro is the latest in the lineup. Main differences from Flow 1 Pro is a better physical design with a bigger grip and better angles for the motors to increase mobility when stabilizing. A lot of the new features like DeepTrack 4.0, Pro Framing Grid, and Teleprompter mode though are in the app, so hopefully those will all come to the Flow 1 Pro soon

Might need to make a comparison video to help people decide which phone gimbal is best for them, but in short the Hohem is much more of a gimbal for people looking for all the production level features and payload capacity from bigger gimbals for their phone. The Flow 2 Pro is much more aimed at smaller payloads and pocket ability for daily use
Hohem iSteady V3 has a better ai tracking and light module. You can use ANY 3rd party apps with Ai tracking instantly. More convenient to sit in hand. Flow 2 pro isn't worth the money.
I don’t mean to be the stick in the mud, but I’m done with Iphones as soon as I get back to America… The apple creepy level was always high even before the whole hidden bra files, but now it is just too much. Reading emails in other apps and forwarding that info to the clock when I go to set an alarm? Tracking everyone around you? Deleting my photos without even a warning? My camera would not record audio of the fight in the hotel room next to me? Now the AI updates are just too much! Oh and the Camera AI is horrible! I was recording this amazing moon shot right after I landed in Tokyo and the camera recognized the moon and the recording went from what I was seeing in person to some made up BS the phone was drawing …. I shocked to see you promoting Apple so much? Do you like that the default is tag your location in every photo sent or uploaded anywhere? You don’t see any concern with that?

This can definitely handle any of the wireless mic receivers from DJI, Rode, or Hollyland on there and still stabilize perfectly

Another selling point for Insta Flow and Flow 2 is that the iPhone can stay attached when folding the gimballl

That’s a great question! You can do Timelapse on iPhone, but I’ve actually never tried to shoot a nightlapse on my phone! Solid to look into!

It’s not the very first gimbal that supports Apple DockKit. The original Flow Pro supports DockKit.
