I use the cone tip for shrinking heat shrink all the time and it's great. I really like the quick release tip too! Love my Bauer cordless tools! For the average homeowner/DIY'er it's all you need.

I appreciate that you mention the run time for each battery.

The deflector is used for heat shrinking tubes and that basically why I have this heat gun.

Is the output temperature variable? This seems like it would be handy for shrinking model airplane covering film but the temperature would need to be consistent around 300f.

Great review!! That's gonna be perfect for my epoxy projects without the hassle of a cord.. I'm already in the Bauer lineup and that will be a good investment. Thanks for the video 📹 😀 🙂

I recently purchased this for epoxy countertops, unfortunately it doesn't have the air flow that in my opinion is required for blowing epoxy around

I bought this for epoxy jewelry and globes and such. Hearing about the battery life being so short will be a let down. Maybe Ill get a corded one.

Thanks for watching! The battery life is disappointing and the fan doesn’t blow very hard at all

I have 2 corded heat guns. But i was thinking about getting one of these for the quick jobs. Or heating up frozen water lines. Ill do more research though before i decide if want to purchase one or not.
    Good video.

Agree - I have the identical
Model but it’s logo is Ozito in Australia - identical albeit 18V not 20v. It EATS batteries like nothing else, they drain in seconds ridiculous. And they don’t really get very hot at all. Nothing like the alleged 500 celcius. But for shrink wrap wick use it’s handy but that’s about all basically. I bought it to heat the car panels before suction dent removal and it was useless. I wonder if it will get hit enough to take paint off that’s also why I bought it?

Isn't the common use of heat guns for paint stripping? I don't know, I've never had one.
Although you could probably use the Turbro electric charcoal starter from the other day for all of these things. Maybe from five or six feet away. You would need to gauge the distance. And probably wear some PPE.

      @TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ  3 года назад

Thanks for watching Jon! Although stripping paint is one potential use, you don’t see it being used for that as much anymore. Lol, cordless charcoal starter would be cool! But I think that already exists in a torch

Idk if I’m using it wrong but do you really have to hold the trigger down the whole damn time? If you do it pretty annoying and imma return it for a corded one

Thanks for watching Peter! Yup, gotta hold the trigger

It looks like it has a switch lock by the thumb area on the grip, sorta like the drill button that switches between clockwise/ counterclockwise.
Is that a switch, or just part of the overmold? Because it looked like I saw light reflecting off your white bench through that area that looks like a switch.

    • @TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ

Thanks for watching Steve! There is no locking button

Yeah that aluminum is going to heat up relatively evenly then give all its heat up to the giant heat sink (the vise) it’s clamped into.
