Hey thanks for a great video I have lived in Barrie all my life and and have been chasing trains since I was a young grasshopper your video brings back alot of memories growing up in Barrie our boat was docked at the lakeshore spent most of my time hanging out on the boat Anytime a train was coming through Barrie I could hear trains coming way off in the distance and being at the waters edge most of the time the sound traveled across the water like an early warning radar every chance I got I would dash across the street well a head of a north or south bound train. It's too bad CN Stop running freight north through Barrie. So as I got older and got drivers license I had and still have the MacTier CPR SUB just outside side of town and it makes up for less rail traffic going through Barrie thanks again for such good footage
Near the end of the video, in Stayner, you commented on the Co-op siding not having seen a train in a while. I believe, later, some time after this video was shot, the siding was revived, was it not? I could be wrong, but I thought the BCRY serviced them after they took over from CN, the Co-op became a rail customer once again.
Was the Innisfil and Collingwood routes local routes for 450/1 mainline routes? I mean is, was the local routes meant to bring cars to the barrie yard and than 450/1 trains than couple to them and headed either Toronto or north bay like how L595 does in Huntsville?
Damn seeing these videos make me wish I grew up in barrie in the 80s and 90s. Now its go trains and once and awhile bcry. Well I can move somewhere else to see trains. Not like i would miss barrie seeing it's becoming one of the most costly cities to live in canada. 6:32 was this taken on the newmarket sub south of Barrie? That rare footage on it's own
6:32 is SBD about to cross the bridge over Lover's Creek and Coxmill Rd....from my front window where I lived at the time. Moved there because of train watching ops. Mistake. CN found out and closed the line!!
@@poastur please do. Honestly I would sob if i see that. Sad CN give the middle finger to orillia and gave barrie only go transit and the dying bcry as the only thing to railfan now. Why I hope move outta this area and maybe live in washago or some cute town with active rail service that barrie and orillia once had.....

Always enjoy hearing the sound of the wheels rolling over jointed rail.
Yeah, it brings back memories, eh?
I'm glad I took several pictures from New Lowel to Stayner before it was all ripped out. What a loss to the region and to history itself.
Best paint scheme ever, CN tiger stripes!
It weathers so well too and looks great dirty!
Great memories. Thanks for posting.
Great video.
love the mlw m420
I miss this cabooses
Yes but CP rail is better

I don't know.
Yes, the siding was revived and the Co-op started receiving fertilizer loads in the spring.
@@stevejones954 That coul;dn't have lasted very long. Probably too little activity to help the cause.
wait was that a wise on the caboose?
When are you uploading the rest of your Newmarket Sub footage?
These are so cool! Do you have any more?

That's the way it was towards the end.
