I'm sure the new sounds turned out great but honestly, I the video it's self was really interesting. A lot of different perspectives you don't usually get to see in cab ride videos. Pretty enjoyable
Seems like a lot of companies are switching to TCS for sound, and for good reason! You can tell by watching this video that they are very professional in the mic setups, and so the sound comes out great!
Just a mere 14 miles from where I live. The OC&T is an amazing railroad and a beautiful ride in the fall. They also operate a caboose motel as well. Also they got an old Amtrak Amfleet car in storage at the moment. Their fleet also consist of a 1947 and 1950 Alco S-2
It's actually not an OC&T paint scheme. The one pilot paint was changed by th OC&T, but the actual paint scheme was done when it was at Trillium. First day we ran it Dingman was on board. We were doing 50mph between St. Thomas & Tillsonburg on the welded rail. The paint actually wasn't black, it was green, it was painted from CN to this, a bit by myself, but the majority by Mike McIlwaine. Lots more oil on the block than when we had it. She breathes fire at night when under load too. Had a good 4ft flame out of her many times. A cold start will smoke out the neighborhood. An overnight idle and she'll spew oil and sparks everywhere. Good to see DIngman at the throttle...
I live a little over an hour away from the Oil Creek & Titusville its pretty cool to see locomotives around my area being used for sounds for model trains
3:30 Did anyone else notice the stamped "max speed 75 mph"? I read that the top speed on M420's is 67 mph w/ standard gearing... does anyone know if Alco offered higher gearing options, or if the M420's can do 75 unofficially? I know EMD's standard 62:15 gearing back then was 65 mph official, but some RR's allowed 70-71... others ordered higher gearing options! 🤓 Also, that old-school Alco chug is something else! I'd consider flying in from California just to hear it 😂 Finally, I'm buying the DCC/sound model when it releases... and running it w/ my chuggin' ass Dash 9's 💯
Question, is it safe to use a Bachmann Standard DC / Bachmann E-Z command DCC controler with *your* models, and models such as Athearn, Walthers, Mth, Ext?
Very good and INFORMATIVE VIDEO funny also you guys really enjoy what you are doing THANK you AGAIN FOR your AWESOME work and your TIME HAVE a good day JIM KAMMERER OF PHILADELPHIA PA 👍👍👍👍👌👌😁😁😁
This engine disign very beautiful. Mlw locomotives sounds high quality. Engine cab in Side very nice. I am very like running still operation yet. More beautiful six axial mlw locomotives. I am Sri Lanka
Oh wow 🤩 That is an amazing sound for a diesel locomotive. The starting up, shutting down and other different engine sounds add some incredible detail. That horn sound is the highlight. It sounds like an E minor music chord. Where did CN use these locos commonly? Keep up the great work.
This was recorded a while ago. The choice of locomotive is determined by relationships and access. The owner is a friend of ours and gives us full access to the railroad.
Thanks for the virtual tour, it was as close as I can get for a vacation during these times! Really appreciated! 👍😎 BTW, what is Robby Dobby Zobby Bobby's favourite Hobby and did he read any Model Train magazines in the Lobby? 😉
Why TCS will the acceleration and declaration match ESU decoders because I know digitraxx and ESU don’t go well together so I hope TCS and ESU go well together
By default they will be very close. Every locomotive we do is a bit different because the guts are different. Watch this video to see our TCS and ESU decoders working together: ruclips.net/video/wau7KP-RIIQ/видео.html

Hey SMT, Wasn't Expecting to see you here! :D
Sup SMT!
Fancy seeing you here my freind
OH MY GOD IS THAT SMT MAINLINE?!
Another unit I don't need, but as I was born near Titusville, has become a must purchase. Thanks alot Rapido!!
That's awesome!
Lol
I lived in PA all my life and didn't know about this railroad! Great video!
It's a really cool operation!

We've been very impressed with their operation!
Good gawd this thing is wicked even old as it is the sounds these monsters make are wicked, thanks for you guys hard work this is how it’s done ✅
Glad you enjoy it!

Lol
I love the at home thing you guys do, its so good, keep doing them.
Thanks!
Im a fan of trains as well.
Great video
Thanks!
Your welcome my freind-s
Stunning sound capture ! She's a rare girl indeed. Thank you.
You are most welcome!

I totally remember this very unit from when I was a kid in 3rd grade on a field trip from Erie Pa !! Glad she's still rolling for the OC&T RR!!
Awesome! She's still going strong!
Very nice video!!
Greetings from Spain.
Thank you very much!
Excellent footage. The shot of the bell in action is certainly something we don’t get to see often. Kudos to you.
Thanks!
@@rapidotrains Let me guess...you're thinking about how to make the bell actually operate...:- )

God bless you for doing this
Our pleasure!
Hey! Keewatin Railway in The Pas, MB has a couple of these M420's working again.
Cool!
As always a highly professional production of perfection :D
Thanks!
I’m super excited for these. Hopefully in the future you guys make variants in the paint schemes from the movie Atomic Train.
Maybe one day, but licensing would be expensive.
@@rapidotrains you did a conditional one for am road, it could be conditional
Cool! I would like to go to Pennsylvania to see the Railroad but I live in New England and it's pretty boring over here not many freights
It's a pretty neat operation!
Super video!
Thank you very much!
Awesome video, interesting to see how the recording is done for the decoders
Thanks for watching!
Wow I really like the m420w locomotives
Thanks, they're really cool engines!
Quick question will you produce any sd38's and sd38-2's in the future?
Literally my favorite locomotive
Awesome! They are pretty cool engines.
Yea hey btw if i was to shell out enough money would yall beable to do a certain paint scheme or no? If not its ok
I took a trip on it for my birthday in July of 21
Awesome! It's a wonderful operation.
We don't need extension cords where were going
I’m planning on getting a BC Rail M420 and M420 B set
A fine choice!
Literal music to my ears! What happened to ESU?
We are still using ESU for many of our projects and will continue to do so in the future.
rapidotrains that’s awesome to know, thanks! I figured I’d ask considering many people are fans of ESU
hI- ho- Rapidotrains and a wayyyyy...nice video boys top stuff ! and hats off to Oil Creek & Titusville Railroad for their assistance !
Thanks! 👍 We're very appreciative of the help OC&T provided us!
Pure Music 👍🏻😍
👍
I know odds are not likely, but would you guys consider doing the M420 locos from the film Atomic Train?
Maybe if we tool the BC version. There would be licensing issues though.
Them bogies on the Alco look similar to those on Victorian Clyde/EMD T class locos
👍
that thing is just tasty, sounds like excellence
Glad you like it!
Question, is it safe to use a Bachmann Standard DC / Bachmann E-Z command DCC controler with *your* models, and models such as Athearn, Walthers, Mth, Ext?
Should be ok. We haven't heard otherwise.
@@rapidotrains Thanks!
Bobs a friend of mine he’s a fantastic host and great friend any chance of a limited run or the 3568?
Maybe if we do a second release with the rebuilt CN 3500's!
Do they do cab rides
Unfortunately no.
Will you guys be doing any of the M420's in the Great Western Rail paint scheme for us Prairie boys?
Maybe in a future release.
This is pretty cool. Will it be available in the Oil Creek & Titusville R.R. paint scheme? I’m a sucker for less heard of road names
Might do so in a future release when we do the rebuilt CN 3500's!
That’d be pretty cool, cheers
Wow!!
👍

Way cool. I live about an hour away. I wished I'd known you be there. Would've stopped by to say hello
Neat! But we were keeping it a secret... 😁
Are you planning to make the Maine Eastern (ex-CN zebra) M420CW 3573?
Maybe one day...
Rapidio: Excelsior !!! I need 2 or 3 of these.
Awesome!
Excellent use of the William Tell Overture
Seemed to be the right fit! 😂
Do you guys plan on making the S-2s as well?
Like many things, we can say they've been discussed!
What are the notes on that horn?
What is it called?
The M420 has a nathan m3. No idea what the notes are though.
@@rapidotrains hmm.

now this is epic
Thanks!
Now that's just about the largest leaf blower that I ever saw!!! I will have to get me one!!!
But will it fit in your garage? 😂
Lol
8:37 I don’t think I have ever heard someone say “let her rip vanwinkle”, and I live in Delaware County…
👍
I say it all the time
Was the end a Millennium force reference when Bobby chases the train
Seems to be a Rapdio thing since we left Jordan behind during the bus video! 🤣
rapidotrains oh
I like that locomotive
👍
I would buy a M420W if you did one in OC&T paint i live 2 hours from the OC&T
We will certainly consider it when we get to the 3500 rebuilds!
rapidotrains that sounds good
Could definitely use a couple BC Rail models. My OSR fleet won't be complete without 644 and 646 😉
We'd like to to them in a future release!
Only thing the model M420 lacks is that alco smoke😊
I would buy a model of one of these if I had the money and if there was a BC Rail version.
Maybe in the next release!
Can you guys do a Southern RR of NJ paint scheme?
We find that short lines generally don't sell enough quantities unfortunately. You'll have to buy an undec.
Well you could just make a limited amount of units for a limited time.
Oh wow 🤩 That is an amazing sound for a diesel locomotive. The starting up, shutting down and other different engine sounds add some incredible detail. That horn sound is the highlight. It sounds like an E minor music chord. Where did CN use these locos commonly? Keep up the great work.
Thanks! CN used these everywhere east of Winnipeg, including in the northeastern US.
@@rapidotrains Thanks.
The K3L on that is playing half a step up from it’s intended chord D# minor triad.
@@AlexTrain5249 Interesting. I have heard instruments that go flat as they get older but this horn has gone one semitone sharp as it got older.
@@AlexTrain5249 The horn pitch changes with air density. On other locomotives, I've heard the same horn play E minor in summer and D# minor in winter.
I’ve been there
👍🏼
This VIDEO is super helpful and interesting THANK you FOR your VIDEO and your TIME AWESOME NICE VIDEO. JIM KAMMERER OF PHILADELPHIA PA
Thank You!
I hope the final sound files don’t include people talking over the startup sequence! 😉👍🇨🇦
No need to worry about that!
Doesn't BC rail have some of these as well??
Yes. We may do those in a future release, but they will need significant retooling.
hola buen dia muchas gracias por el video
Muchas gracias!
I’ve seen this engine before!!!
Cool!
Can u buy that engine from that railroad
It's not for sale, but we've already got out hands full with other restoration projects.
Aren’t they rare?
SUPER rare! 😄
Do an N scale husky stack
Maybe for a future project!
very essential travel
Of course!
Prime Mover ASMR?
👍
How do you determine what unit your going to use? When was this done?

Also will the f59ph come with TCS
Gobby looked really comfortable in the fireman's seat
Almost too comfortable! 🤣
To bad Rapido didn't do A CN with ditch lights. Would of order one and wanted BCRAIL
This is only the first run, I'm sure they'll do all of those in the future
Im in the same boat
After this run we'll be considering the later CN 3500 rebuilds and others!
Agree, want CN with ditch lights
This train is built in 1973
