Sully hangs with old time friend and legendary guitar god Nuno Bettencourt as they discuss the old days in Boston and Nuno's plans for his global concert.
Nuno has been my favorite guitar player for 25 years now. His non pretentious attitude here proves not only is he a great guitarist, but an exceptional human being!
I remember Nuno coming into our Music Theory class at HHS a few times for visits. That was during the Mourning Widows days. Good times! Feels like yesterday! 🤘😜
Gary Cherone was my gym teacher at Malden High School in 84. His mother was the original teacher, she had a stroke, then Gary subbed for the rest of the year.
Absolutely love listening to Nuno. Even his voice is musical! The man is a pure gold as a musician and totally dedicated to what he does. Passionate and sincere. Fantastic!
You said so well what I feel about him too. I love the 🌎concert idea. I hope it happens and the dream comes true & works to raise the consciousness of the people on 🌎. ☮️🌎💜🎼🎵🎭❤️🎵
Nuno can talk about Music like anyone else. Passion is in his every word... I could listen to him talking for hours... if Sully didn't interrupt him every 2 minutes 🙃 And I laughed so much when he told the story with Sebastian Bach in the plane 🤣🤣
Ahhh. Memories. Dancing on stage with Godsmack many many years ago at The Compound... Nuno Bettencourt showing up at my friend Shawn Phillips house after hours in Lunenburg... 😂
I LOVE this show! Thanks, Sully for helping us through this crazy time with your positive outlook, hilarious stories, and awesome guests!! Loved seeing and hearing Nuno today!! You guys ROCK! ❤🎸🎶🤘👊
Nuno is a GUITAR GOD!!! I have always thought that Extreme were such an underrated band. I still blast Extreme's music in my truck on the daily! I was fortunate enough to meet Godsmack in Phoenix. I ended up talking with Tony Rombola for a time and he and I spent quite a while talking about Nuno and his incredible talent. I would love to have Godsmack use Nuno on their recordings in the future or maybe Sully and Nuno can play on a future Sully solo album?!
I am new to this guy Nuno Bettencourt, gorgeous that he is his guitar playing is fantastic! Steve Perry mentioned him as a musician and I learned he was MORE THAN WORDS !! 🤘🎸🇵🇹
Fell in love, musically, with Nuno when he was with Extreme. I still have his solo album "Schizophrenia".... it's managed to survive 20ish yrs later. ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Saw Extreme for the first time August 14th 1991 opening for zztop in fact! And with all due respect to zztop, EXTREME blew them off the stage! It's a mons-tour!
Michael Espinosa, I also saw Extreme open for ZZ Top on the Recycler tour in 1991. They were so young and energetic on stage. It made ZZ Top look old and slow, and I’m a huge ZZ Top fan. Nuno, Paul, Gary, and Pat rock!!!!
You said so well what I feel about him too. I love the 🌎concert idea. I hope it happens and the dream comes true & works to raise the consciousness of the people on 🌎. ☮️🌎💜🎼🎵🎭❤️🎵
Nuno was one of my biggest influences as a musician. I was given the Pornograffitti album as a gift and my mind was blown. Totally changed how I looked at the guitar. More than just leads/scales but percussive, attack and a new level of funk. 3 Sides is a fucking masterpiece every guitarist should learn to play by ear - train you ears kids. Great interview, great guys.
This is the best thing ever. I love Nuno. My mom's been playing for probably around 40 years. Her and my dad adored Extreme and raised us on all the best stuff.
Paul geary gave me my first concert tickets Ozzfest 99 saw godsmack and met them back stage!! So grateful for all the times Paul hooked us up with tickets! He is the man! Thanks paul!
You two make for a nice combination of talkers. Old friends, same profession, speak the same language, can't BS the other... I've noticed in other interview situations that Nuno often speaks over, or around, people's heads if he thinks they're not up to speed with what they're even talking about. None of that here. Good stuff!
"Throw your guitar in the wood chipper" that was exactly my thought when I heard Nuno play for the first time. Great interview Sully and stories, can't wait for Baz's interview.
This was so fun. Dying to see Extreme again when the Virus is addressed. Scored a chance to see them after NAM in Anaheim in 2017 and then snagged a selfie with Nuno at Nuno and friends at Lucky Strike in 2018. Nuno Bettencourt and Randy Rhoads are my biggest guitar hereos of all time. They inspire me to play more than anyone ever has.
Yalls friendship is awesome. Seem like great connection!! And i wanna put this out their id give up my right foot(at least) to get in between these two beautiful drummers while they battle it out!!!
Hello you there, I believe in me, I love life, I have many friends and hobbies, and I do. Them all, I'm 59 years old You know who I am and no man can stop me Dion Tillman, bring it!!!!
When I saw Van Halen in 1979 they all got on Alex’s drumkit and played at the same time on the bridge of “Light Up The Sky”. Wonder if Nuno ever saw that.
Oh my God .. Light Up the Sky is a genius track .. I'm drinking Knob Creek Whiskey .. I play guitar, got a '92 Washburn N4 .. We should sit down and play ..
The mainstream world values accolades and monetary landmark sales etc., but Extreme and Nuno are proof that often times true quality is overlooked due to frivolous, shallow ideas of what “success” is. Nuno and the members of Extreme SHOULD be very rich and lauded for simply being as awesome as they are at what they do
I liked the interview because of the stories you never get to hear etc but yeah I agree that Sully spoke over or at times wouldn't let Nuno answer as you can see Nuno began to start answering but was cut off several times. But it's great they know each other and are mutual friends so I'm sure it's fine. However, with other musician guests he may bring to the show that he may not know well I hope he tries to be more considerate for his guests and the potential fans who may be watching.
Nuno has been my favorite guitar player for 25 years now. His non pretentious attitude here proves not only is he a great guitarist, but an exceptional human being!
Yeah has same refreshing vibe as Keanu Reeves
I remember Nuno sitting on the curb playing his guitar waiting for the bus/ride after school at Hudson High School.
Wow... precious memory...
Oh wow! Cool story bro! Tell it again?
Imagine how many girls Nuno has as girlfriends
I remember Nuno coming into our Music Theory class at HHS a few times for visits. That was during the Mourning Widows days. Good times! Feels like yesterday! 🤘😜

Gotta love him.
Talented, funny and handsome. Damn Nuno is perfect
Nuno is amazingly talented!!!🔥😎🔥
Oh Nuno. I just love him. He always has the best stories! Such a good speaker
I agree with you 100%
Nuno in the 90s in Guitar Player magazine: “(EVH) sure as hell kicked my ass into shape”. And Eddie’s biggest influence was Clapton.
Nuno can talk about Music like anyone else. Passion is in his every word... I could listen to him talking for hours... if Sully didn't interrupt him every 2 minutes 🙃
And I laughed so much when he told the story with Sebastian Bach in the plane 🤣🤣
We get it, Sully, you guys go way back. Let the man talk bro
This was the best episode so far. Really loved to hear past stories. Nuno is awesome 🤘🏼👊🏼
Eddie and Nuno are two of my favorites.
Hand in Hand ..
Nuno you are the man so proud to be 🇵🇹 thank you for acknowledging your roots looking forward for you to come to Massachusetts for a show hint hint✌️
Ahhh. Memories. Dancing on stage with Godsmack many many years ago at The Compound... Nuno Bettencourt showing up at my friend Shawn Phillips house after hours in Lunenburg... 😂

The stories are interesting ! Great to see Nuno’s personality in here .
I like how Nuno doesn’t want to be fake in his concert project, like he could be easily. Also best guitarist ever
This is one of the funniest interviews I’ve ever heard talking about Sebastian Bach oh my God
So GORGEOUS!!!! I remember him from back in the day!
Sully to Nuno: We are good friend so let me do all the talking
Nuno has some heat laying on the table beside the Patriots helmet.
Fell in love, musically, with Nuno when he was with Extreme. I still have his solo album "Schizophrenia".... it's managed to survive 20ish yrs later. ♥️♥️♥️♥️
It really is a fantastic record on so many levels.
This was fun. But it felt like Sully was cutting off Nuno sometimes and talking over him. You gotta let your guests speak man!
That’s because 99.9999% of them never studied journalism
I remember seeing Nuno at The Channel in Boston and my buddies band open h for them.
I was Probably there 1989 . Love the channel
Saw Extreme for the first time August 14th 1991 opening for zztop in fact! And with all due respect to zztop, EXTREME blew them off the stage! It's a mons-tour!
God I was 21 and JUST learned about Extreme .. wooow.
Definetely felt more like a conversation between mates than an a straight interview. Really enjoyed that!!! It makes a change.
Wow I am just now finding this - I love Nuno and am getting into Godsmack too. Great interview!!
He is an amazing guitar player...over looked for sure....he has jammed all types of music, and everyone....
Never knew much about Sully, now I want to have a beer with him! Nuno's a beast, a fun 47:33!
Nuno Numero Uno! Period.
That was great! Nuno has some awesome stories.
Awesome perspective for a higher vibration. Right on, Nuno! Rock on! Great interview, Sully!

This is the best thing ever. I love Nuno. My mom's been playing for probably around 40 years. Her and my dad adored Extreme and raised us on all the best stuff.

This was great Sully, I enjoyed it. Even though I am no one, I answered those questions too. I think all road musicians could answer those Colorfly.
Amazing show! Love Nuno! Funny, I actually saw Extreme with King's X in New Orleans. The city does have a vibe!
Lol always felt the same as Nuno does about Buffalo...and I live not too far away from there.
They're both pure gold
One of my favorites, just a cool guy as well as killer

One of the best voices in metal along with Chris Cornell.
Nuno is my favorite guitarist.

Meu guitarrista favorito! Quando você vem ao Rio de Janeiro(Brasil)?
Amo demais! #NunoBettencourt ❤
NUNO is packing!
Think Nuno even realized he left that gun on the table behind him? Lol
I was trying figure the model...looks like maybe an XDS...or maybe a Walther...
Maybe there's a message...a gun next to a "Patriots" helmet...
Walther ppq? Possibly.
He should be ashamed...of the Pats helmet LOL;)
Omg good eye LOL

I remember that old Nuno & Paul percussion jam, I saw it a few times back in the day.
Nuno é adorável!!! ❤❤❤❤
Oh i remember those days... Being from Mass myself (Marlboro/Framingham) and seeing Extreme play before they were so famous. Miss those days.
Eddie's favourite player was Clapton... He said Clapton really made him want to play.... Great interview!
He is amazing
Wonderful music
