    We’ve been enjoying following your snowbird trip this season. A bit sad to see Vancouver showing up on the map and knowing that the end is near. We appreciate how you orient us by using the 3-D map at the start of your videos.

    Hi Ray & Wife. You have a way of taking us on a very nice journey even though we are sitting and wishing to be there also.
    Very thoughtful and well done... Cannot wait to get out again. I like the Google Earth lookdowns and road explanations.
    Cheers; miss you two in Cali!
    Safe travels.

    One of my favorite places. Bowman Dam backups Brownlee Reservoir which you are on. Down river which is north is Oxbow Dam and reservoir, then Hells Canyon Dam and Reservoir. Then you get into Hells Canyon which worth exploring. All three reservoirs are famous for their fishing, large, and smallmouth bass crappie and trophy catfish. Catfish in Brownlee and up river especially. You missed as you going there Leslie Gulch and Lake Oyhee. Both spectacular. I’m very familiar with the area spend a lot of time there and Hells Canyon hunting and fishing.

    Hey Ray. I want to thank you for putting out these videos. We are on the same trek, and you are doing great at reviewing camp sites for us. We have now stayed at Snowbird Mesa, Zion at Laverkin. Then we stopped at Young’s field WMA. We skipped antelope island, and went straight to Twin Falls fairgrounds. On Sunday we head to farewell bend. We have reservations at Mt Hood Village. So we will push from Farewell Bend to Mt Hood. Then we head to Seaside, Or. from there.

    Wife and I spent 10 days there in August. I was great, but man, was it hot! We were right in the middle of all those record highs. We are birders, so we enjoyed the many raptors we were able to watch. Ospreys, Eagles, owls and falcons. We were coming home from the northwest and came in the opposite direction that you came. Would stay again for sure.

    Been watching many years but never see you going to midwest states. I believe you've mentioned you have to go home for family, and maybe other reasons, but I think a trip around Michigan would be right up your alley.

    • @LoveYourRV
      @LoveYourRV  2 года назад

      The USA currently only allows Canadians to stay in country for 182 days per calendar year unless you pay an expensive filing fee and apply for a visa extension with no guarantee it will be granted. On the flip side we must reside in our west coast Canadian home province of British Columbia for at least 5 months per year to maintain residency and free healthcare coverage. So when you factor in summer and winter weather and driving distance from BC to the mid west it isn't very easy to get over there for very long and expensive fuel wise for the back and forth travel.

    • @aguyandhiscomputer
      @aguyandhiscomputer 2 года назад +1

      @@LoveYourRV Thank you for the detailed info. Makes sense now. Definitely don't want to mess up the healthcare and other stuff.
      Hopefully you have that saved so you can copy and paste :)

    • @LoveYourRV
      @LoveYourRV  2 года назад

      No problem. I should mention that in BC every 5 years we are allowed to apply for an extended travel exemption of 2 years and still maintain healthcare. So the first year we were on the road we did that and traveled east to spend summer in the Maritime provinces then down to Florida, across the Gulf coast and through the Southwest. To cross we dropped into the USA and took I90 as far as Wisconsin then headed up in to Lake Superior and Upper Michigan before crossing back at Sault Ste. Marie. That trip we ended up spending 9 months in the States and applied for the visa extension, back then 2012 it was $300 to file the paper work. I imagine that price has risen. This was our trip map www.travellerspoint.com/map/#/trip/274939 We had sort of planned to maybe do something similar in the future but then Covid hit and now fuel costs are crazy high!

    Hi Ray, do you have to buy a state park pass for every state you go to or is there a National state park pass?

    • @LoveYourRV
      @LoveYourRV  2 года назад +1

      Every year we buy the $80 America the Beautiful Pass that that is good for all Federal Lands www.nps.gov/planyourvisit/passes.htm But each US State also has there own parks and fees and rules, Usually State Park camping includes day use but sometimes we have to buy day use if not camping. Sometimes day use is free at parks, it varies. Most States have a yearly pass but usually not worth the cost unless we are in a state for a long period of time.

    • @MrRegzxzx
      @MrRegzxzx 2 года назад

      @@LoveYourRV Thanks for the Info Ray, do I understand correctly that the America the Beautiful passes covers BLM passes also?

    • @LoveYourRV
      @LoveYourRV  2 года назад +1

      @@MrRegzxzx Yes, Bureau of Land Management are federal government lands. Most are completely free camping, but some of the more popular or developed campsites have a small fee for camping. If you are a USA senior sometimes you can get discounts of 50% off camping in many BLM places.
