I appreciate how all the unreliable narrating means that there is little actually known, whether or not the accusations Abbi sent out or had received in counter are true, just that Abbi lost the narrative, no matter the truth, and how fans react to the narrative turning against their star, as well as how a star whose (lack of) identity and anxieties which made them so good at what they did leave them in catastrophic freefall when no longer validated. Internet fame is a terrifying thing as it can go terrifyingly close to early movies, with directors and managers having all the power, especially if the actor is disabled or a woman.
I love that last line. I think every person who found out a celebrity they liked was an awful person, wonders if they'd have turned out just as bad if they were in the same situation. Everything disappearing behind her for that last line is absolutely haunting.
@@charm-p holy balls. I can see why, she sounds amazing! I'm almost a little sad she's not a "real" artist but I suppose "real" has always been loaded from the start. What is the process you use for creation? Do you write/demo it irl and then program it in?
@@mrsteamie4196 Yeah, I write most of my songs on my piano just using basic chords. I record myself singing the whole thing through and then when I go to produce the real track, I can use my own vocals as a kind of reference for how to tune Solaria.
@@mrsteamie4196 thank you! SynthV is actually pretty easy to get into if you’re interested in producing. I made my first few songs entirely with free programs
I like the song, but one part threw me off. "Pathological" can't be used by itself in this context. It can be used before a word, but on its own it means "related to pathology" or "caused by a disease". It can't be used to describe a person, only to describe a specific quality they have, such as being a "pathological liar" or "pathological gambler".
I debated with myself about that line but I ultimately decided to keep it. I think the first thing that comes to people’s mind when someone accuses someone of being “pathological” is being a pathological liar. Like in this song, you can see it as this ex fan accusing Abbi of being a liar. But pathological in this sense means something taken to an extreme, to a degree that can only be caused by pathology or like insanity. So the word can also be used to mean “obsessive.” In this sense, the ex fan is not just calling Abbi a liar through implication but accusing Abbi of being completely obsessive to the point of it becoming a pathological issue. Also I think the line sounds cool. But I get if it breaks the immersion for you. I’ve definitely had songs where just one lyric threw me off. But I wanted to give the line an honest defense. 👍
