You know how you said the Rio de Janerio is basically an Agincourt a tier higher? Well, in real life the Rio de Janerio actually IS the Agincourt! The ship was built in Britain, by Britain, after being ordered by Brazil to bolster their navy, but after warming relations with Argentina, the British sold it to the Ottomans before it was completed. Then, when WWI started, as the ship was being completed, she was siezed by the Admiralty and renamed Agincourt. So Rio de Janerio is essentially an Agincourt if she had actually been finished as intended.
Unfortunately, Rio di Janeiro seems like a downgrade from Agincourt. She has slightly less secondaries, 1km less secondary range (despite being a tier higher), and only slightly more health. If you ask me, Rio should’ve been a T3
The Borodino is based on a project of “Small battleships” from the early 1950s, known as Design III-III-3,. Unlike the classic projects from the Soviet Navy, these small battleships weren’t named “Project X” like Project 23 or Project 24 due to the fact that they were internal proposals from a private bureau. The designs found support among the USSR Ministry of Shipbuilding but the Ministry of the Navy strongly criticized them. Multiple variants were proposed with a main battery composed of 406 mm guns in various configurations but the general idea was with one or two twin or triple turrets, all forward. The secondary armament would be triple or quadruple turrets with 180 mm or 220 mm guns. The displacement was ranging from 29,000 tons to 49,100 tons. The Borodino itself is based on a design with 2 triple 406 mm gun turrets and a secondary battery composed of a quadruple turret with 180 mm guns. While designing the Project 82 heavy cruiser, the Ministry of Shipbuilding Industry of the U.S.S.R. ordered drafts of a "small battleship"-a ship equipped with 1-2 turrets housing main- and medium-caliber guns and enhanced bow armor. In 1951-1952, nine preliminary draft projects were prepared. One of the projects was armed with two triple turrets with 406 mm guns and was recommended for further development. After Stalin's death, the construction of heavy artillery ships was no longer relevant, and the project wasn't completed. Borodino is named after the village located in the Mozhaysky District of Moscow Oblast, Russia, located 13 kilometers (8.1 mi) west of Mozhaysk. It is the site where the Battle of Borodin took place during Napoleon’s invasion of Russia in the year 1812.

Bro I was straight up crying laughing at that RNG while you tried to kill the Bortas. I’m sorry you had such a frustrating time but I definitely needed the laugh at how ridiculous that was and how frustrating it must’ve been Thanks for the vid. Still not too sure between Borodino and Belfast ‘43 or Georgia. We’ll have to see if my wallet pulls a knife on me or something when the time comes
I played this ship forever ago on the ST server, and it was one of my faves. In fact I liked it so much, I would log in just to play it in AI mode. I'm not sure if it's close to the same ship I played those years ago, but between power creep and other changes in the game, it's most likely a completely different experience. Hard to say whether I'll get her or not, or maybe wait for her to come back for GXP or just as a premium purchase.
Historically I wonder what event ship has come back for GXP? but I would agree its too expensive right now. I think its mostly the same minus some health and radar duration
Ggs 🫡 I had a couple terrible matches lmao. One on trident I just straight up rushed and died first. Knew what I was doing was wrong but couldn’t help myself 😂
Last time I asked in your vid Plymouth and I bought it and I really like that ship , Maybe later i hope you will make a guide for Georgia 😁 Because I want to buy it later at the event shop
I am going to pick up Rio de I really wish it was not a modern version of Agincourt. there are a few more South American BBs that existed in real life that I would have liked to see. But I love T-4 so I am going to get it. I want to hope that the devs will release more South American BBs or just more low tier premium ships in general. I think arcade mode has a real opportunity to revitalize low Tier play. on a side note, the one ship I am really pissed off about not getting was the T-7 BB Lion. I would spend real money to get it. lol
I run the Russian Dewey, with Kondo and Swerzki as inspirations. Kind of hilarious having a BB that can stealth radar. Don’t know if I’ll keep that build just thought it would be a fun use of that guy since I don’t really use him except as an inspiration on other builds.
Yeah I really don't understand why they nerfed it at all. Even back when it was in testing and I heard people like A Aron saying it might be too powerful I was like WHAT? Because it still has that 25mm bow, still has inaccurate guns at best. Whereas a ship like Constellation exists if you want a BB with a Radar (obviously Missouri is optimal but not everyone has the ability to spend 17.5k steel) but Constellation is a much better radar BB imo. Has much better guns, is faster and more maneuverable, has torpedoes, and its accuracy combined with the ability to run spotter planes is top tier. Sure the rest of Borodinos armor scheme helps it not get farmed our by HE but that doesn't matter when any HE focus can just be redirected to your laughably large Bow that eats it all anyways and seemingly has a much higher saturation than other bows I've seen. Could just be me though but it feels like it takes a TON of damage.
Had they left her the way it was during test phase, I would have e absolutely wanted it. Having the longest ranged radar with the 30sec duration was cracked just with that. I’m also unsure if the bow has always been weak, or if they changed it for the full release, but this version just isn’t worth the price tag.
Hey derka do you know if the citadel protection got buffed ? In the test phase I got a devstrike on the borodino with a prince Eugene on I think around 8 km
Well, I seem to be one of the few people who actually wants this ship despite its shortcomings, lol. Thankfully, I already have Georgia and Siegfried from their respective campaigns, so there's no need for me to go for them. The price almost killed it for me, though. She's an expensive beast, for sure.
Yeah for sure it’s not for everyone at this cost. I grinded hard on anything to get drachmas and bought some crates to fill the rest. I also collect Russian ships but if you are lucky enough to have the Lenin it also does what borodino does plus some.
I believe the Borodino will become like the Jean Bart. Not for purchase. Rarely seen. Only available in crates. Get it while you have the opportunity boyz.
I run a 16/4 Galler build and it shoots lasers. I play it like a poltava at tier 7. Not sure why you’d do a kederov build. The ships not like the mainline Russian BBs
Youre prolly right, think I'm still stuck on kedrov from the old Tbull days. He is a much higher level than my Galler. And I was thinking survivability with armor and low HP i suppose
But Derka, what about Borodino’s COOL factor? 😂 Speaking on accuracy versus reload, I usually spec into reload on main battery-focused battleships (Kansas, Kii, etc.) especially if they have “Guns Aplenty” to make up for the loss in accuracy. As a general rule, if a bb has 6 or fewer guns (Gneisenau, Georgia, Champagne, etc. sometimes cruisers as well, like Siegfried), I spec into accuracy just because you have so few guns to work with. I would almost certainly do the same on Borodino🤷♂️
I agree with Metajerk, I think the Borodino is meant to be a battlecruiser and a commander build that embraces that concept would be a great option to consider. I rented the Borodino this past winter and was impressed with it. Like many players, I had hoped it would be a campaign ship, considering that Soviet campaign ships aren't a common thing...but alas, it's a pay-wall ship. It's good but not THAT good, which means I'll pass. I agree with Derka that at 6,500 Drachmas one could acquire a USS Georgia which is a vastly superior ship at a cheaper cost (though I already have it) The Tier 5 Independence and Aigle costing 6,500 makes absolutely zero sense.... 4,500 Drachmas seems much more realistic for a Tier 5 ship.
This ship reminds me of champagne except the guns are at the front. Only 6 guns and getting over pens or missing getting frustrating lol yea this definitely reminds me of champagne. This update is the most expensive update i ever seen .with all the things u can buy lol

Personally I'd say it seems pretty accurate for only two front facing guns and 6 cannons. Sure it doesn't seem like you're doing a lot of damage per hit but that's better than missing. Damage is Damage. Just my thought.
thanks for sharing! youre right, i think just after 8 straight games, i was getting worn out. (actually more like 10 or 15 because I played Velos first)
Uh I dont remember exactly but you spend resources to get keys that unlock cells that give you rewards, and the treasure hunt is located on world of warships legends website
I don't understand how radars and sonars from OTHER SHIPS allow to spot an enemy ship. That's not how that works even in the slightest. (I know not real) Yet, and my point... for some reason, my fighter catapult nor observation plane can't RADIO to its OWN ship and say, ya there's a big ass warship on the other side of this island. Por que? The absurd Double standards with your own SAME mechanics is interesting.
@DerkaGames Spotting: Hydro and radar both allow the entire blue team(in range) to spot, lock on and shoot a target behind cover. Consumable planes: fighter catapult and observation no longer spot. Common sense and science state, Radar and sonar from 1 ship cannot display the location for another ship. How does a Baltimore who has both, relay that info the the Iowa who has neither? (Again just being a smart butt) But the iowas very own planes can't RADIO in and say "ya there's a big warship on the other side of the island we're by". Proposal: give all planes SOFT spotting. Instead of showing or lighting up enemy ships to tract, lack on and shoot, red team only shows up on the mini map. Now 2 thoughts, in order to be counted as HARD spotted (showing up on mini map and the map itself) in a CERTAIN RANGE or when the planes themselves ARE FIRED UPON. If we take the ladder, the heavy and stronger calibers ranges should stay the same, the weaker smaller ones should have the range extend slightly to allow planes to spot for longer/further. This in returns nerfs the potential damage of carriers without needing actual stats. ATTACK runs on cruisers have to be made within 4/5kms (not to bad) but for destroyers you can either perma hard spot for the team or lose track only to pull the trigger at the last second once spotted in there small decrion radius of 3km. (Which could go up if they have there AA turn on) Gives destroyers more wiggle room, forcing carriers to target bugger ships, and forcing either cruisers to hunt down dds with the revamped hydro and radar system explained later, or gun boat dds to funt down other dds. Lastly, the carrier now has to choose, soft spot at a safer ranger (taking less damage) or hard spot/attack (taking increased damage). Why do they get all the benefits with little downside? Now for the catapult and observation planes, just give them soft spotting the entire time. It would be nice to give them the same mechanic, if a ship is shooting at it they become hard spotted (unless smoke), but some why have a mini map if you're not going to use it. Now we could keep hydros and radars the same, but if we were to "rework em" then if the enemy's become hard spotted for the entire blue team (in ranage) then in theory because a radar doesnt make smoke vanish, it's on a 2d screen in the ship. Buuuuuuuut don't allow the ship to be locked on, meaning you have to manually figure out where to place them with out the aim bot or suggested AI targeting thing (unless hard detected by line of sight or firing penalty etc). Or, Radars and hydros only work for your ship and your ship alone. Extend the radar time and range (slighty) obviously, give them both the soft spotting on the mini map so friendly ships understand you're not shooting at nothing and that's it. This drives home the point, you have to stay alive plan, don't do stupid stuff. Yes people will but eventually they won't. Think of world of warcraft, or over watch or any rpg game. You have designated rolls, if you lose one that effects the entire team. So making these hydro and radar ships more impactful once off the field forces everyone THINK MORE and plan or atleast try to force yall to communicate. All of this, is aimed at A not making bad decisions for similar game mechanics, but for the community to become more aware/ watch the mini maps, atleast think about the effects your actions will have on the field. More risks higher rewards. Communication!!! Getting you to interact with the game a little more, get immersed a tad bit more, And have more of an impact to the team.
Maybe change "finish him off" or "finish this guy" to "complete the kill" or "remove this ship". I giggle every time you say how you're going to "finish him off". 😅 Sorry, just my mind. 🙂
WG is determined to kill the game... You can't even play DD's without CV harassment and everything has radar. You can't think of anything other than trying to stay clear of radar... So close to being done with this game!!
Thats honestly the least of the problems. The ability to learn and skill needed to avoid radars is what makes playing dds fun. Its all about learning what ships have radar and staying away from there radar range. Alot of the time its just patience.
@@McSutum no 💩!! That's why I say it isn't fun. I've been playing for years. Pretty good win rate in my opinion. And the topic of vid is 11+km radar. It will be the first of many to come probably. Try and stay on topic... You won't look so foolish.

how can i sign up/join ?
I don’t think it’s starting till next week
@@DerkaGames thanks man
Can anyone tell me about the treasure hunt and how it works? I didn't participate in it the last time it came to the game.
Uh I dont remember exactly but you spend resources to get keys that unlock cells that give you rewards, and the treasure hunt is located on world of warships legends website
starts next week, there will be a blog post
I don't understand how radars and sonars from OTHER SHIPS allow to spot an enemy ship. That's not how that works even in the slightest. (I know not real)
Yet, and my point... for some reason, my fighter catapult nor observation plane can't RADIO to its OWN ship and say, ya there's a big ass warship on the other side of this island.
Por que?
The absurd Double standards with your own SAME mechanics is interesting.
Cat fighters need fixed
@DerkaGames Spotting:
Hydro and radar both allow the entire blue team(in range) to spot, lock on and shoot a target behind cover.
Consumable planes: fighter catapult and observation no longer spot.
Common sense and science state, Radar and sonar from 1 ship cannot display the location for another ship. How does a Baltimore who has both, relay that info the the Iowa who has neither? (Again just being a smart butt)
But the iowas very own planes can't RADIO in and say "ya there's a big warship on the other side of the island we're by".
Proposal:
give all planes SOFT spotting.
(Which could go up if they have there AA turn on)
Gives destroyers more wiggle room, forcing carriers to target bugger ships, and forcing either cruisers to hunt down dds with the revamped hydro and radar system explained later, or gun boat dds to funt down other dds.
Getting you to interact with the game a little more, get immersed a tad bit more, And have more of an impact to the team.
you’re aiming to low and yeah rng is screwing you but you’re hit 50% of the shells everytime
She looks cool but I'll get Rio and independence
good calls
Why would I play this when I can play Riga?
Essentially the same Armour without the exposed citadel, improved secondaries and completely free.
Super valid point
still no lexington😞(day 44)
SADGE
I got de grasse out of 2 champ crates
nice!
@@DerkaGames and it's not bad I like it
Ita stalin grade with larger guns. You have to bow and I'm using he more

Yeah save up for JB or Lenin whaling
@@DerkaGameswell try last christmas crate for lenin dropped uh around 450/500€ no lenin WG didn’t bless me :p
omggg that rng was worst for you there the entire battle wow
lol it was annoying but its just wowsl
Meh if they nerfed it after I last played it I'm not really interested.
yeah i think they could have left the radar at 30 seconds. or maybe 25
Is she better than georgia
No
Yea… the average wowsl player will have that happen to them and go scream JB nerf rather than realize they have a 25 mm upper bow
Live and learn, I got dunked on twice by Jean barfs while testing Boro
It really didn't deserve the radar nerf or at least not this bad
yeah leave it 30 or maybe 25! agreed
Boro is kinda mid
Its The Russia version of The dunkerque or strasbourgh
Sure it has a radar but its still mid
inclined to agree
@@DerkaGames glad we agree mister
I'm going to pass on this one. I've got over 400 ships and just don't need this one.
thats a lot of ships! lol
Maybe change "finish him off" or "finish this guy" to "complete the kill" or "remove this ship". I giggle every time you say how you're going to "finish him off". 😅 Sorry, just my mind. 🙂
GDI James 😂😂😂😂😂😂
It's way too expensive for my taste...
yeah =(
First comment pin derka???

That is some horrid rng
That Bortas was a lucky fella
Too expensive.
indeed
This stupid ship is back after 6 MONTHS??? WG WTH????
has it been that long? bro this year zoomin
Overpriced
fa show
Overpriced
yeah it is
WG is determined to kill the game...
@@McSutum Dodge radar?!? You consider that fun... Dumbest thing I've ever heard!
@@darrinakins4981 Lol. With your level of incompetence i can tell you must be new-ish to the game? Dodging radar IS top priority as a dd
@@McSutum no 💩!! That's why I say it isn't fun. I've been playing for years. Pretty good win rate in my opinion. And the topic of vid is 11+km radar. It will be the first of many to come probably. Try and stay on topic... You won't look so foolish.
@@McSutum and second of all. Who the hell are you to tell me what I like and dislike and the game?!? Huh?? You've got to be a leftard. They are always trying to tell people 💩!
