    Port Forwarding is a great way to reduce Lag and Latency! Just a quick correction in my video I stated I have 14 available static IP addresses however I made a miscalculation .I have 12 available IP addresses. 6 on the front end and 6 on the back end. I'm sure plenty of my subscribers caught this mistake. Anyways thank you for watching I really appreciate it!

    Port forwarding has always made me nervous. Thank you so much for the simple to follow tutorial. It makes much sense to set aside a static range of IP'S. Your videos are awesome and easy to follow. Thank you, and keep them coming.

    I am flabbergasted. First game was so smooth. I will update.
    Update: if anyone struggles with lag on 5g home hot spots please do this. I'm almost certain I get throttls 2 weeks after I pay my bill. After porting I pretty much haven't had any issues since. I still can't believe it now. I use straight talk 5g home internet. My ping is now significantly lower and no more lag spikes.

    I have Verizon 5G home internet which has limited settings I had to set up a static IP directly on my XSX in advanced network settings and after that my NAT type was open.

  • @goatedjoe
    @goatedjoe 8 месяцев назад

    Why did you do so many ports separately if your router supports both? In the other vid that’s what you did. Also if I reserve an ip address for my ps5, should I still make the ip outside the pool range?

  • @Pandak-Bonsay
    @Pandak-Bonsay Месяц назад

    3:25 In your other video - you showed the Primary DNS as 1.1.1.8? So why the change?

  • @Pandak-Bonsay
    @Pandak-Bonsay Месяц назад

    0:39 Then i do not need to "port forward" my modem at all. As my PS5 console automatically shows a "NAT Type 2" but sometimes i do get a "Failed" read for nat type it sometimes read a Nat Type 2 when IPv4 address is changed.

    Quick question. I had fiber internet installed today and on both Xbox’s I gave my son & I static ip’s ending in 101 and 102. I didn’t change any settings in the new modem or anything. We have smart tvs and cellphones so with this, with those ips ending high, will we ever experience conflicts?

    • @UltimateTechHub
      @UltimateTechHub  9 месяцев назад +1

      You might have conflicts eventually. It's better to have the numbers in the 200s. Like 220 or 230.

    • @Jwebbplayz
      @Jwebbplayz 9 месяцев назад

      @@UltimateTechHub I can do that, I guess with this; the only point is to port forward correct?

    • @Jwebbplayz

    • @NickBham
      @NickBham 9 месяцев назад

      External port will be the same as internal port. My router doesnt ask for start and end port. It asks for external and internal ports. Just put the range in both boxes if its a range. If its one port, put the one port in both boxes.

    It’s bizarre that I’ve never had any problems with connection until the past 48 hours. Followed your guide and now it’s working again like normal if not a little better. Would you happen to know any reason for that? I use spectrum wireless as no option for wired. Why would it suddenly be an issue?

    • @UltimateTechHub
      @UltimateTechHub  11 месяцев назад

      Sometimes its a server problem but port forwarding does help with a faster and more reliable connection. Thanks for watching!

    • @TheSilentEntity
      @TheSilentEntity 2 месяца назад

      @@meathead4699 I think it takes your routers bandwidth and forces it to be used for your ps5. Where before your ps5 probably wasn't the top priority so there were times where you weren't recieving all of the connection that your router was capable of directly to your ps5.

    Can you port forward for other devices and expect the same boost in internet speeds?

  • @Bicholokz
    @Bicholokz 2 месяца назад +1

    Why did you put 192.168.1.8 on the ip pool starting address and then changed the static ip address on the ps5 to 192.168.1.2 while you changed it too 192.168.1.8 in the router?

    • @UltimateTechHub
      @UltimateTechHub  2 месяца назад +1

      You need some IP addresses outside DHCP pool range so when the lease is renewed the static IP address doesn't get handed out to another device. I assigned the PS5 to 192.168.1.2 and used it as the internal port when I port forwarded. The DHCP pool starts at 192.168.1.8. I have 6 IP addresses I can use for static IPs. Hope this helps.

    • @Bicholokz
      @Bicholokz 2 месяца назад

      You misunderstood me. In the router settings you changed 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.8 but when you switched to the ps5 you set it to 192.168.1.2, shouldn't it be 192.168.1.8 on the ps5? Not 192.168.1.2

    I might be confused, since my ps5 isnt hard wired to my modem nat type 2 is where it’s supposed to be I thought I wanted to get to nah type 1? I’m currently running nat type 2 but I notice some lag on fortnite.

    • @UltimateTechHub
      @UltimateTechHub  8 месяцев назад

      NAT type 1 can only be achieved with plugging the PS5 straight into the modem. NAT type 2 is perfectly fine. Lag could be the fornite server or your ISP connection.
