Frankie Avalon has a great voice . . . his “Venus” still is a standard for pop songs. As is said, it's a classic that really has no age.
I met him. He is a gentleman and a great talent who got good looks working against him. He was much more than just a cute guy. He has made a life out of music. Under rated as a musician by music business. This man is a real musical legend! Who cares what he looks like. He is a legendary musician, a gent and a great all round entertainer!
It's a wonderful interview.
I wished it could have been longer. There are so many wonderful stories to be told.
May God continue to Bless you Frank.
Wow! Frankie Avalon still looks great for his age. He hasn’t changed a bit. Good looking and his hair still therefrom the time he was 19 years old in 1959. Venus was very famous back home . I was teen ager during that time. This song Venus is one of my favorites.
Thanks for sharing…
❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👏.
I'm 17 and this guys music is amazing
Very good interview with Frankie Avaloni
A top notch icon.
And a good guy who seems to be firmly grounded and certainly very likeable.
i won a dance contest 1958 i won a 45 record venus loved it
Looks great and seems like a real good guy. No pretense and straight with his answers. Great interview...
Frankie is a CLASS ACT !!
AND A VERY TALENTED ONE AT THAT..
Frankie Avalon one cool guy both professionally & personally.
Really loved this interview.
I guess he was 60/61/62 here. Still looking great.
After listening to all the videos on Frankie !! I realized I am still in love with him and he looks so good!! Love his vitamins helps me feel good and able to play golf and tennis again - yoga thanks to Frankie!! His tribune to Bobby and James was out standing !! With he would come to wilmington or charlotte NC … CA girl and husband close to SF well in wine country Sonoma and Napa - adore you Frankie.
I'm from South Philly 10th and Bainbridge, As a kid in the 60s I saw all your movies in the theater. Love Ya Frankie God Bless 🙏✌🏻
What an Honor that must have been. I didn’t grow up loving Frankie like my mom did but I definitely loved watching him when I was younger. ❤️
I must be the only twenty year old on Earth who listens to rap and Frankie Avalon.
Ernie Manouse is a wonderful interviewer. Watched several of his interviews and plan to watch a several more. Thank you.
The Jackie Gleason/Al Martino story was great. Especially being from Philly myself.
The "Beauty School Dropout" scene in Grease with Frenchie, the choreography girls and the stage work was wonderful...!
I am so glad Annette was not mention in this great interview.
One of the best interviews I've ever seen. I've always wondered about Frankie. He seems like a real regular guy. I like his perspective on marriage. But he had a good example to follow, not many people do.
What a Great interview. You left no stone unturned accept the Beach movies! Learned so much from Frankie in this thanks to your great questions. Frankie has a great speaking voice and very personable manner! Bravo!
Loved frankie growing up.Such a great singer. My idols were frankie and Fabian.
I just feel down the late Fifties teen idol rabbit hole -- these South Philly singers are great guys!
Love you frankie you are timeless
I never knew he wanted to be a trumpet player. I heard him play the trumpet in Bermuda at the Southampton Princess. He was a great player. Yes, Philadelphia has produced so many great singers, directors, etc. I agree that Philadelphia has so much to offer-great museums, fine theaters, wonderful restaurants and stores, the Kimmel Cultural Center, renowned universities and hospitals.
I enjoyed this interview with Frankie 👍
what a lovely man
I love this guy since I was a kid
its a great wig ...makes him appear young
Cheap Kmart hairpiece
@@lendrury2771 It should have a little gray in it
Venus is one of my favourite songs! It also featured on a Pearl soap advert.
Great interview.
I like watching Frankie on American Bandstand.
No one really knows these celebrities, but Frankie seems like such a nice guy.
Yes. A really decent chap by all accounts. He's 82 now & still married to his wife for 60yrs. He found his Venus.
I haven't read anything bad about him. Can't say the same for Frankie Valli of the Four Seasons. Man by different accounts that Valli dude treated women terribly & would bone anything with a pulse, absentee father too.
He has the it factor..very charming and good voice...he should play some trumpet on stage..
its william shatner style wig ...i like it
Great reference!
Just great talented people from Philly. I should know, I am from Philly and there is no place like home which is "Philly." The talent is amazing. I was so lucky to have lived there for close to fifty years. Love my Philly.
Why did American Bandstand leave Philly?
Dudes got a set of ears!
Ears like stop signs
He is a lovely unassuming man.
He doesn't age cause he lives right.
He mentioned the Eastman school of music in Rochester New York, a lot of famous musicians came from there
Great singer
How old is he is this video? Dang, he still looks mighty FINE!!!
Great interview! I'm about the same age as Frankie, Fabian, Bobby and the rest and it's really interesting to hear their life stories.
He looks better now than he did in the 50's.
Fascinating interview.
One nice big brother .
Thank alot now I cant stop looking at them. :-)
Legendary “Venus”
My mother had an incredible crush on Al Martino.
Lucky man...still has great skin even with all the sun exposure.
Love Frankie Avalon! I just posted the disco version of Venus on my channel
cool
I'm 27, but you're not alone.
Remember when Frankie Avalon used to do the Sonic commercials now I had a friend of mine that was a manager of a Sonic that they were filming at and he went to different locations but my friend I won't name is name was the manager of the Sonic were Frankie Avalon was going to shoot his commercial and he didn't have nice things to say about Frankie Avalon you know what you see on camera isn't always what you see off so that's all I'll say
I agree. He may be talented but some celebrities you meet in in person aren't always what appear to be when the cameras are rolling. My friends met him at some social function one evening and they also didn't have anything nice to say about him. They felt him to be arrogant and rude.
venus is a nice dream come true...listen it makes me get into dream immediately...enjoy
What year was this interview? I am guessing the late 90's or early 00's.
He said the Alan Ladd film was in 1958 & they chose him to do it because of his huge following. But Venus was released in 1959. . ????
Avalon loves his liquor. Pint of whiskey a day I heard
3 packs of camel cigarettes a day too
@KonaCoffee247 Can you provide a link? Otherwise it's just hearsay
Do you know gaslight theater 50s music
Avalon can't get it up . 35 years now I heard. Jeez with all his money you would think he would fix the problem ugh
@KonaCoffee247 he'll still be more famous than you ever will.
JOSEPH McBLOGGS - He was 69 here according to Robert Lee..
Whats it like being perfect Pal?
oh Yeah... and...
What Did you ever do in your life? Do tell us...
JOSEPH McBLOGGS - Just checked... he was born in 1940 so 2003 would make him 63 in this interview. Shame on you Robert Lee!!! lol
I can understand everything you say now McBLOGGS!!! lol Fancy looking like him at 63...
Care to send a pic of yourself?
FRANKIE AVALONI....
+martadoso9 - Avallone
+Craig Haylett COOL...
Dude got some ears like freaking water pitchers
Why follow an interesting comment with an irrelevant and strange attack?
Avalon is wearing a very cheap hairpiece
