Marat is a machine. Ate body shots all night, but kept coming forward. Didnt look tired. Superbon technician. Jab, Teeps and knees to body, distance and angle usage; beautiful anti-boxing skills.

He did look tired, he started rounds with fast combinations but quickly fell off and stopped doing them mid/late rounds. He got tired.
Trust me, he's sleeping good for a few weeks after this fight
That counter kick by Superbon at 9.25 is a thing of beauty. Almost fell off my chair when I first saw it. It’s like a whip

Conclusion: Marat wins round 3. Superbon dominated rounds 1, 2, 4 and 5. Superbon wins by unanimous decision.
Superbon has better kicks and knees. Marat has better boxing. Superbon controls Marat with 76 jabs and a staggering 84 teeps. Marat almost always lands his 135 punches when they're pushing against each other, framing off of each other, or clinching. Marat has better boxing diversity and his best weapon is his uppercuts. His highest scoring weapon is his jabs. Not only did Superbon land more, his accuracy was much better. Superbon dodged a staggering 53 punches, which is a very high number of dodges in a kickboxing/Muay Thai match. Marat has almost no head movement. I advise you to watch this fight in slow motion if you want to see Superbon's almost invisible head movement.
Superbon lands 14 undefended or almost defended kicks to Marat's stomach and head (some kicks look like they were blocked but if you watch in slow motion you will see Superbon's kick went below Marat's guard and hit his belly button). Superbon and kicks Marat's arms over 20 times. This is because Superbon wanted to take away Marat's punching power. Marat said in a pre-fight interview that he wanted to shock Superbon with a head kick. But then Marat had almost no willingness to kick since Superbon keeps throwing knees (some of which are jumping knees) towards his stomach, hips and ribs to take away Marat's kicking ability (you need to use your core and hips to throw kicks). Superbon's game plan worked to near perfection.
Marat lands 161 hits and Superbon lands 232, 393 landed hits in total. Marat throws a total of 263 strikes with 61.2% accuracy and Superbon a total of 257 strikes with 90.3% accuracy. 520 total strikes thrown in 15 minutes. In comparison, an average boxing match has 780 punches thrown in 27-36 minutes. And yet some people said that this fight was boring or that Superbon "didn't fight like a man" because of his strategy of keeping his distance. What is he supposed to do then? Fight like a dumbass?
I swear the people who think this fight is boring are people who think that kickboxing is just about 2 dudes hitting each other. If you watch Marat's other fights, you will see Marat is a monster but Superbon was relaxed the whole time and was controlling the monster Marat and making him look easy. Bull vs Matador. There was nothing Marat could do. That's why I think this fight was entertaining. Superbon impressed the judges in the kickboxing scoring system, but if this was Muay Thai scoring system the judges will literally cream their pants.

You can see Namsaknoi's(one of the trainers in his corner) influence on superbon in this fight. He totally adapted that Namsaknoi's trademark evasive style into his own. Amazing.
Superbon was always evasive even before he started training Namsaknoi and Buakaw. He met Buakaw in 2012.
Damn I didn't know Namsaknoi was on their team but I shoulda assumed with him being Buakaws big brother in Muay Thai. The three of them lead a legacy of greatness spanning 30 years now

This was a kickboxing clinic by Superbon. Using the full repertoire of strikes with impeccable technique and timing. Masterful control of the gap. His discipline in stance and defense. Effective countering and transitioning from defense to offense. I could go on. Absolute masterclass by Superbon. Grigorian was no easy opponent. Great fight!
Marat physically has strong fist strikes, but Superbon is more technical , both are strong fighters.
I liked how every time superbon threw a jab he added a frame or a shove to create distance for his kicks. This way he stopped marat from setting his punch combos.

I'm in awe of Marat, the amount of punishment he takes without flinching. I've been teeped in the gut in sparring and it's super uncomfortable. Can't even imagine what it would feel like when it's Superbon teeping you over and over again.

Superbon has really evolved! I really loved watching his use of angles - defensive or as setups. His jab is great and very reliable, and his teep is quick and creates chaos for his opponent. He has integrated some nice boxing skills into his counterfighting Muay Thai style. The way he leans forward to threaten jabs, uses constant lead teeps, his circular movements and frequent L-stepping really makes me think he's trying to emulate Samart Payakaroon's style. He seems to resemble Samart more than his own mentor, Buakaw, although without the world class boxing skills of Samart.
Superbon still has to remain dominant against top talent for a good while longer in order to match/surpass Petrosyan's GOAT run (peak Petrosyan's winning streak is insane), but with the talent he has, you never know..
Can we just imagine if that landed anywhere else lol. It shocked him despite landing in an area full of muscles.

Marat wants to walk through and punch Superbon. He planed a KO and didn't prepare plan B. Superbon strategy consists of 1. Disable opponent strongest weapons by keeping him at bay 2. Strike his arms, body and leg. 3. Counters with head kicks in close up range. Round 1 to 3 went exactly as planed. Round 4: 13:01 to 13:45, he executes a combination of item 1, 2, and 3 that put Marrat out of commission. Round 5 is just a smart way to finish the fight. Marat is still a beast. He relies too much on his power that is also his weakness.
And the odd dragging leg sweep to disrupt any momentum in the later rounds. Beautiful

Wow... masterclass by Superbon. Literally just showed that he's a level ahead of Marat now. Marat could possibly win in another rematch, but as of now it's Superbon's time. Chingiz should be a possible match in the near future considering he just beat Sittichai.

Superbon's knee's are so underrated its almost criminal, he just slides them in like i do with my new keys into my truck ignition and his jab is a thing of beauty, he really has come full circle his footwork has gotten much better and he's not muay Thai linear which is a big problem for thai fighters when they transition into kickboxing there's not enough angles being taken but he's adjusted well, glad he's sharing his craft with us on his youtube channel however i'd like to see nong o and superbon go at it ... that or rodlek.

This strategy worked very effectively for him & eventually led to his victory over the former Glory kickboxing champion, Marat Grigorian. Btw, both of them are the excellent & skillful fighters. THERE IS NOONE BETTER IN HIS WEIGHT CATEGORY!!!!! Everyone doubted him but I watched him personally train with Ajarn Gae and I knew he will win the first time and everyone still doubted him thinking it was luck but he proved in this fight that he is real champ. Him and Gae are magic duo.
First round is Text book example on How to fight long. Jesse, he just makes it look so easy tho. Great timing and technique of all his weapons
Nice to have longer reach both in hands and feet, and expert utilizer of both. Superbon's legs are amazing but did his right legs much this time.

Loved it! Mitch was wondering why Superbon didn't throw his right kick so much. It might be because he wanted to condition Marat to think that Superbon is not going to attack that left side so much, and neglect keeping his left hand up.

What a re-match! Marat is a beast, but this time Superbon went Muay Thai Master on him. This is what makes combat sports so exciting. Given a little time and training adjustments, this was a completely different fight. Top shelf power vs technical is always fun and thrilling - find yourself out of position and it can be over in 2 seconds

Superbon is a very skillful, well-experienced, & smart fighter. In this fight against Marat, he applied a tactic of the use of of that incessant front kicks to the sternum or chest to prevent Marat to come inside to allow his powerful one two punches in his face, & then Superbon constantly attacked him w/ his intense round-house kicks to his right flank. This tactic eventually led him to prevail in triumph. After all, Marat is a formidable opponent who had won all 3 fights w/ Japanese top kick boxers by means of knockouts just 2 yrs ago in Japan, & also was a champion in Glory or Europe. I wonder who is more powerful, Superbon or Sitthichai. (07/14/23)

In the last round Grigorian caught superbon with a little uppercut that I think disoriented him abit as I just seen him clock watching after that. Personally it felt like a lot of safety from Superbon as Grigorian kept coming for him, hoping for the KO. even the endless teeps was just playing safety with the point scoring.
Anyways both fighters where awesome bit could of been lots more 🔥🔥🔥🔥 brought into it considering the level of both fighters.
