ONE's scoring criteria goes as follows (starting from most important to least important): Knockdowns, Damage, Strikes Landed, Agression and Control/Ring Generalship. There were no knockdowns, not a lot of visible damage on either fighter, so it mainly comes down to strikes landed and who was being more aggressive and controlling the ring. I have no clue how someone can give Superbon the win based on ONE's offical scoring criteria. Dude landed 2-3 punches for every knee Superbon landed and pressured him the entire fight. It was a close *fight*, but it was not a close *match*. Awful decision
I thought the decision was ok. I would rather take the punches superbon received than all those knees and kick. That being said, if Marat would of got the decision i wouldn't have been upset in the slightest. Superbon look so overtrained recently though. Even in the second Marat fight he looked tired quickly.
He received it to the guard (the kicks and knees) but those punches that superbon received koed him. So I can’t really make sense of what you’re saying
Surely in kickboxing, the judges give credit if you actually kick (and knee)? Maybe somebody should tell Grigorian... Sure, he punches harder, but if they're not hard enough to get a knockdown, then technical superiority (including a much higher range of techniques) counts.
I would say 1-2 Superbon, 3-4 Marat. And for the 5th my insight isn’t good enough to judge who was better. So Im good with the decision, but Marat winning would be fine too.
In KB scoring criteria, kicks to the arms don't score and neither do strikes that don't affect your opponent. I thought Matat edged out 5 with punches that snapped Bon's head back, plus leg kicks that buckled him. Bon's strikes didn't look powerful at all with his obvious fatigue, nor did they seem to affect Marat in the slightest. Not to mention it's generally accepted that a fighter who is clearly, visibly fatigued in a round doesnt win that round unless they get a knockdown or the opponent is even more fatigue. Marat didn't look the tiniest bit tired so that breaks the tie for me.
Love hearing your thoughts on fighters Gabriel! Could you do a video on 5 things Sean Strickland does so well for his upcoming fight against Paulo Costa?
He doesn’t do anything well besides Perry and jab , he has a decent teep of his lead leg which I guess is kinda impressive for a middleweight but he’s not even a big middleweight so it’s not that Impressive. Honestly the most high level part of Sean’s game is something that rarely sees him using it because of the weight class he is in , it’s his defensive grappling and ability to sweep from bottom , he is deceptively strong . But I’m sure you’re talking about just in a striking sense and that is really it bud he’s not some world class striker or even really a good striker to be honest , he’s durable and he is willing to keep putting on pressure though keeping a stick in your face and once he has you pinned against the cage he will let his two go , he doesn’t like letting his two fly because I think he knows he doesn’t keep his balance well and his feet don’t stay under him when he’s throwing it and he doesn’t want to get caught over extended . No im not a 5x world champion like Gabriel is but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night .
If this were MT scoring criteria then it would be Bon, but in KB you have to give it to Marat. It was somewhat close and Bon scored with a lot of knees but with his visible fatigue in the final 3 rounds his strikes didn't look like they had any zip to them, more wet noodles than baseball bats. Nor did it look like they were having any effect on Marat. 48/47 Marat for me, no question.
