Thanks for this. Love how you didn't remove the hard drives and also how you didn't remove the screen completely. Kept it simple and efficient. Great job sir!
Thank you for taking into consideration people who aren't tech savvy, and showing how to put it back together. Most of the videos I've watched only show how to take it apart, and then at the end just say to reverse what you did, and that's all.
Oh my gosh.....you have to go through all this to replace a battery? I will have to set aside an entire afternoon with NO people in the house AND cell phone in another room on vibrate! I am not computer friendly but somehow I stumble through it all due to RUclips and you experience people for taking the time to do this. I will definitely have my large tablet sitting right next to me showing this video as it goes along step by step. Many thanks. Now I got to go and order my battery.
I just watched this video and changed my battery, it took me about less than 25 minutes taking my time, if I had to do it again I could do in less than 15 minutes. I felt like I pulled out a lot more screws than were needed on the back. I did it exactly as indicated in this video. Seemed like I did a lot more than needed, but, it got the job done. My OEM battery crapped the bed in a spectacular fashion, rendering my ROG inoperable. I am typing this on my ROG right now, works perfectly again. I should get another 8 years out of it. Not bad for a 2015 laptop.
When I was taking apart my computer two wires got disconnected from my computer to my screen and I was panicking because I thought they would be the wires to make color on the screen and they weren’t. I don’t know what they were for but who knows but my computer is running so much better. Thank you for this!
Had the same happen. The two wires are for the wifi antenna on the back of the screen. They plug onto the wifi module. I don't know if they are polerized but playing the video repeatedly I believe the white wire was closest to the screen. The wires have very small plugs. Use a magnifier to line them up with the sockets on the module. Great video. Was most helpful.
Thank you ever so much for the detailed instructions. I have visited your site many times and today I did it! The biggest difficulty was the removal of the old battery. Because of the fear I had of possibly damaging the Li-Ion battery I spent much time fussing with it. No I want to know how to test whether the battery is working, I couldn't tell by your video which component to activate to check the battery. I would really appreciate it if you could give me and others a clue. Again, many thanks for your most helpful video, the one and only video to watch.
Looking at your video boosted my confidence a lot and yesterday I changed the battery in my old gaming laptop. Took about an hour and I ended up with only one screw left when finished. Thanks a lot! 👍
10/10 awesome! Just followed the instructions and now i got a working battery in my Laptop up and ready. The only thing i have my keys are not all working 100% at first. I have to type every 3 words a word again because there is a letter misisng.
I bought my ASUS ROG 751JL in August 2015, that makes it close to 9 years old. The laptop has always been on the charger but a few weeks ago I noticed the battery going slower to nearly out anytime I put it under load by an external hard drive. At present it is stuck in the Auto-repair-loop and the repair can't take place as the battery light disappears after only a few seconds. So, my question pertains to what size of replacement battery I should buy as there are quite a few batteries available at different sizes and prizes. Also, unless I install it myself, how can I be sure what kind of battery is being installed if I take it to a repair shop? Any suggestions?
I have to do this, got the replacement battery. Gave it a try today, but I failed :( I saw a video, where they guy removed the hard disk as well, I had to stop there since I did not have the right screwdriver, but now I see you don't do that. Gosh, I'm happy. I think you used the same screwdriver all this time. Hope I can make it, seems more simple like this.
Hey, omg I'm sorry for this. I just use a simple philips screw driver.. i forget the size... It's the husky brand. I tried to make the video as simple as can be. Maybe i should be more specific next time?
dude all the video i watched how to remove the bat you are the best , thank you bro , one question even without battery it will still work? by just using the power adaptor? sorry for the nub question
LOL. I just repasted my g751jt only to see i forgot to reconnect my battery. The awful process just to get it open is making me decided to just use it without the battery
@@jayburgermcfries the battery wont budge if you take out the back speaker housing alone. You need to unscrew the motherboard too if you have your battery cable stuck underneath the motherboard or if you decided to replace the battery. This is one stupid design imho.
Changed it out carefully per the video, but now it wont turn on. Ive got lights on the board and a light indicating its charging when plugged in but nothing. Any advice?
When screen was removed the video cable from the monitor popped off the socket on motherboard. Check this connection on right side of screen under keyboard.
I can't remember now...But I believe when I placed battery in I accidentally unplugged monitor...so I had to take whole thing apart again just to plug it in 🙄. I was panicked at the time tho
@@edharper677 Yeah, that is what I did! However, my Hard drive didn't like the repair. So I have this perfectly working new battery and a dying computer now. Ah, well. 8 years is a pretty darn good run.
If you try to reseat the monitor cable and if it doesn't work, you may need to unplug the battery, press and hold the power button for about 1 minute. Plug in the charger only and try to start the laptop and see if that helps.
*Asus G751JM* one of vents is not blowing hot air? should both vents be blowing? just bought a New Battery But i don't know if i want to mess with it :( my other laptops the battery was a easy swap out. should I take it in for Tune-up? or Give It A Shot?
If you have time and patience, you can get it done. The laptop should be blowing air from both vents. Not necessarily hot. Unless it's under load. You may want to check your fans and see if they are working properly. Putting your ear next to the vent and hearing airflow is one way of seeing if it's functional. If you don't hear anything after some time of usage you may have a faulty fan. I'm sure a replacement can be found on ebay.
@@jayburgermcfries Its defiantly not blowing I kind of figure that . Sure has been a good laptop. I paid $400 for it at a Pawn Shop. at least 3 years ago, I blow it out is all I've done. Started shutting down! I figured it was getting to HOT. I guess ill give it a try doing fixing myself. After I blew it out this time The temps dropped quite a bit. Was running 180*F - 200*F back down around 142*F - 160*F Thanks Give Me Something To Do
If you do decide to open it make sure you reapply thermal paste. That too helps drop the temps if the paste is old and crusty. And inspect the fans. It may be as simple a lubricating the bearings on it to get it moving again.

To be fair, he already had the battery replaced. You're mostlikely gonna have to do it anyway to take out the old one.
