I definitely agree that I don't think they should make it open would. That would take away from the RE experience the way it should be! Amazing video as always!
@@Archetype_M3T4L I’ve never played honestly! But I’ll take your word for it! I like open world concepts, I just don’t personally think it would go well with an RE game!
Hard disagree on more characters being involved being a bad thing. It could be a bad thing if the team has split campaigns or these appearances feel like fan service. However, if the game has one protagonist and she (if it is Jill) interacts with lots of different characters in an open world across a much longer campaign, that will work. If anything, this might be pushing into RPG territory with a 40-50 hour campaign if it is going open world. We'll see if that can hold tension or if this becomes a very different style RE.
5:30 I kinda want them to make the plot for Resident Evil 9 a two-part for RE9 and RE10. What’s rumored here sounds really massive. Too massive to be in a coherent, great game. I know when it comes to the idea of splitting the plot and doing a two parter, there would be talks of doing one game more horror focused and the other more action, but I would want them both to delve in horror and action. With horror taking the center stage, of course. I would love to see RE9 feature Jill as its main protagonist and RE10 featuring Leon as the main protagonist since those are the two most popular characters in Resident Evil. (I also personally want to see them fix Jill back to the caring-badass we all love.)
I like this alot actually, i'm not opposed to the action, i just don't want the franchise to ignore the horror either and vice versa and i agree with Jill Valentine.
There's no telling what they'll do. If anything, they need to pick up where Village ends with the helicopter heading to the European BSAA headquarters or whatever it was. Other than that, idk. I think it being probably more horror themed would be nice.
It's okay if we get an action re game. It's nice that the series is always evolving. The audience usually doesn't know what it wants, it would be boring to play slow paced horror resident evil games each time. Variety is good
2:45 Well I think a death by infection is a more suitable death for any of the main characters rather than murder. Like Imagine playing as Jill and Chris gets infected. Before you can get a vaccine or cure to him he fully turns and we get a parallel to the iconic head turn from the first game, but this time it’s Chris. A very bittersweet ending
2:40 I Agree with you. I dont think none of the main charrachters should die. I strongly disagree with people asking for this. If those people want that kind of nonsese, they should go and play TLOU2.. they will get that with its shity storytelling. Hopefully Capcom will never pull a Druckmann nonsense in the series.
I don't think a main character dying it's a bad thing or "nonsense " the Red Dead series did it great, and also Joel dying was a interesting way of moving the plot, the problem is that the build up was just poor
I’d love to see Jill as the main character but I think if the focus is on horror probably better to go with a new character. With regard to how open it is I think they will emulate and slightly expand on the layout of village. I believe capcom are smart enough to know RE couldn’t go full open world without it being a disaster.
For everything that I was worried about with 9 from all the rumors, hearing about the return of Koshi Nakanishi really hyped me up again that the story will at the least keep true to the horror feelings that don't spill out too far (8 imo). However, I am not against the action side of RE. The characters are all now seasoned agents, it makes sense to add their abilities into the gameplay. If anything, it just raises the bar for how strong and scary the monsters have to be. I mean it would also make sense that any group still using any of the viruses, would have made bigger and better products by now, right? There's just been so many rumors, that all I can hope to do now is wait and see what gets revealed officially in the future. For now, I will just be happy that the franchise is still alive.
What if used level design like the first Bioshock? Bioshock wasn't open world exactly but by the end of the game the whole map was interconnected and open to you.
7:40 thats what im worried about its going this harry potter route almost. And ethans daughter having powers is not the route i want . I remember that The Evil Within 2 had a good balance of open world and survival horror. You had small quests you could do. Follow up leads on points of interest and even had a few moments where you couldn't fight back and had to hide. If it is going more open world, I hope it leans into it's strengths and not because it's a gimmick.
4:35 I also think RE9 shouldn’t be open world but maybe have up to Three different locations. Open world is something completely different from the Numbered titles formula. Like you said with resource management, the game would less be Resident Evil and be more like Dying Light. A game we already have. They can tell a large scale story without making the game a huge open world game.

Im not really sure id say im excited for re9. But it is fascinating to think about. Like what would the game even look like. The budget, the open world aspect, the characters, setting, leaks. Apparently this game has been in development since at least 2018. Even before Re8. It is interesting to think about
the open world, doesnt always mean a huge map with a lot of items to pick up, it can also mean that you, as in an example with village, instead of going with the vampiress first, you can go to the swamp or the house of horror without the need of collecting a first item to be able to progress, that could be one way to call it open world without a need of having a lot and i mean a lot of items to pick up on. If you are scared of knowing where the best item is and pick it up, there can be a piece of programming that doesnt show a next weapon until you pick what you are supposed to and thus keeping the game on its level as it should be.
I actually agree 100% resident evil going real open world might actually do massive harm. I expect the reviews will say that the open world is one of the only things holding the game back.
RE4 is the upper limit of "open worldness". Anything more than that and it's not a action/horror game anymore. Like, even with RE4 it was alrdy immersion breaking with constantly collecting garbage and selling it to some merchant along the way. It all comes down to the story even for an alleged death of anyone . Coming my comment I wanted to say again that, what makes re9 my most anticipated game is because I wanna see and know what will happen in that game and if Jill is in it. It feels a culmination of an almost 15 years period of absence and that this game will determine everything
@conjuredlion that makes sense. I noticed that I was recently able to run higher settings than I was when I played it back when it was fairly new, so I guess they made some adjustments in the intervening years as well.
Despite of the rumors. I dont think the game will be Open World. being that its by the same people that made Re7 they seem like they truly care about the Horror Aspect of the franchise. If anything they'll probably make it Open Area but not Open World.
Evil Within 2 and re4make had open world elements. Now I don't think a full open world will work, but capcom is gonna chase trends. Frankly I hated 7 and 8 anyways so anything to avoid that outlast stuff would be nice.
I think we need to give Capcom the benefit of the doubt here. I mean, the last poor RE game was 6 and that is a long time ago. RE7 , RE 8, RE 2-4 remake all excellent entries. Also, Capcom doesn’t make us wait 17 years between entries. They are on a roll and I trust them with RE9. The only clunkers in the series are 5 and 6, so it’s like 10/12 or so that are terrific. Those are good odds…..
Open world can be tricky but i am hoping it does the franchise justice. just got to have faith . i have faith in Capcom more than most game companies I would have even more if the ygave me a new Castlevania. as always top notch video ! Keep up the awesome work !
I know a lot of people want this to be a game you can play once and be like "oooohhhh spooky.".... I don't want that. When games feel like they are a theme park ride; it makes them feel less like a game to me. Re4 is my fav, I want a game I can play like 100 times because it plays so well. The leaks make it sound like that kind of game so Im actually beyond excited, I was worried of it being anything like Re8 to be honest (though I didn't hate 8, it just wasnt one of the better ones to me.)
some plot released its before the village so leon s kenedy is some damnantion looks you cant see him on 8 if he died here on re 9, the problem is barry is included in re 9 and jill teaming up to leon.
Yo I've been saying for years that Jake would make the great next villain. Have him jaded from Chris killing his pops and just angry and hateful I'm general.
killing a main character that survived the previous game like ethan for the sake of being emotional is stupid and i consider ethan dead non canon it should have been better if ethan and mia only show up in re7 instead of ruining there happy ending in village
Open world? RE9? All I know is that if this game has microtransactions I’m out… I’m so sick of games that require you to pay real money for anything. Awesome DLC not included
Well, I thought resident evil. Seven was scary as well as resident evil village. I hated Ethan Winters as a character. It was dumb. It seemed like it was just forced into the game. They could’ve easily just use Chris the whole time because his DLC is what made me really enjoy it and the end fight. Yes he was a bit more powerful obviously and he had better weapon weapons but That still didn’t take away from the danger he had limited amounts of ammo so he still had to be smart and a lot of the fighting I did was hand to hand with a knife also really hoping for third person again. I am not a fan of the first person in seven at work because the game was scary and whatever village didn’t work for me. It was trying to be seven mixed with resident evil four and it didn’t work for me. In my opinion. Those are weaker than resident evil. Six resident evil six actually had a awesome chance at having a cohesive story in in some elements it did excel in fact my love for resident evil I hate none of them, but the weakest ones for me were village and seven then six all the others were excellent games in my opinion, including zero and code Veronica I think six when it will be remained, and I guarantee you it will they should redo it in the sense of having Claire as Leanne’s partner instead of this random Helena character and Jill said appears with Chris it would make more sense and yes, it’s still a lot of characters but that’s one way to fix it as well as making it work well paste like resident evil four is an even five while five moved away a little bit from that it still was excellent for the story
Not gonna lie, I'm really disappointed that they're going open world.. I dont really like open world games, the only ones I really love is elden ring, Witcher 3, and ff7 rebirth and you could argue ff7 rebirth isn't even open world
BO6 tried having "bio-weapons" in its campaign this year, but really nazi zombies and alien-esque monsters kicked out the military fps feel. RE9... open world? ... oh no ... will this be BotW/TotK level good or Pokemon Scarlet Violet level crap experimentation they're trying?
Preach brother I thought we were going to get more Louisiana maybe exploring a farm but nope 😢 They got RE4make assets so let's throw Ethan in Europe of all places
@@Doralga A farm or ranch setting would be great maybe like Redfield, Valentine or Chambers our retired then something happens locally infecting they're livestock make it atmospheric and creepy I'd by that freaking game.
I don't love action... at least not to the point of RE4. I really dislike RE4 when it comes to the franchise's tone, although the Remake was better. Like it's objectively a GREAT game but I don't like it as an RE game. Give me RE0,1,2,3,7 and 8 over 4 any day of the week.
There's no villain worthy of that title, if they kill off the characters now then it'll be from some random villain and believe me when i say this, people are going to be pissed and wished it was a different outcome.
I wish 9 will be similar to re 6 somewhat, RE7 catered to the RE1-3 audience, RE8 catered to the RE4 and revelations audience and I wish RE9 should somewhat cater to RE5 and 6 audience and I have faith in capcom to be able to pull this off especially with how good the remake for 4 was.
@ any reason? Or are you just saying clown without any evidence once again? RE5 and 6 were great games with friends. (You probably don’t got any that’s what it was boring for you) The AI might have sucked then but after RE4 the partner AI shown with Luis was really well balanced.
@@Myartandsongs even i want it to happen but i think she said that to tease leon she was tryna flirt with him and it wouldn't make sense to make her a agent too as they did with sherry yk.. but i want them to include ashley somehow anything works
I disagree, in the technical and plot sense was mid af But the pacing, the exploration, the setting and atmosphere and just the sheer fun of the gameplay make it extremely replayable, and that's what Resident Evil it's about

Resident evil 9 dlc 1 leon l, resident evil 9 dlc 2 Claire, resident evil 10 idk
I see all the comment section sounds like whiny high school girls grow a pair bruh or go play fortnite 😂
It's gonna be sloppy
All rumors
Village was Awesome i dunno what these people are smoking 😂
Do you like survival Horror or do you like Fantasy?
Resident Evil 7 was grounded and focused then Village Jumps the shark again with a convoluted story over the top characters and shoehorned villains.
Yeah i miss the simplicity, "STARS team, Mansion, Trapped, We need to get out"
Preach brother I thought we were going to get more Louisiana maybe exploring a farm but nope 😢
They got RE4make assets so let's throw Ethan in Europe of all places
@@Doralga A farm or ranch setting would be great maybe like Redfield, Valentine or Chambers our retired then something happens locally infecting they're livestock make it atmospheric and creepy I'd by that freaking game.
I don't love action... at least not to the point of RE4. I really dislike RE4 when it comes to the franchise's tone, although the Remake was better. Like it's objectively a GREAT game but I don't like it as an RE game. Give me RE0,1,2,3,7 and 8 over 4 any day of the week.
I want several characters to be killed off actually, I want there to be stakes in this world. Its probably gonna be semi open world like like 4 remake
@@THE_INFECTED clown take 😆
@ any reason?
Or are you just saying clown without any evidence once again?
RE5 and 6 were great games with friends. (You probably don’t got any that’s what it was boring for you)
The AI might have sucked then but after RE4 the partner AI shown with Luis was really well balanced.
Ok.
@@Darstag you must be woke 😆
@SHARK_TASTIC Google woke, kid. Lol
@SHARK_TASTIC also, you can stop commenting on everything I comment on. You little creep.
@Darstag what you guna do about it 🐈
@Darstag you look it with your frail self and boyfriend band 😆
I don't care if it's open world i only want Ashley
Me too but that's just impossible cuz she is just a civilian 😔
@superamv6225 well i think this miracle will happen because in the remake she talked about becoming a spy and she is a fan favourite so
@@Myartandsongs even i want it to happen but i think she said that to tease leon she was tryna flirt with him and it wouldn't make sense to make her a agent too as they did with sherry yk.. but i want them to include ashley somehow anything works
Village was trash though...
💯 percent agreed!!
You are trash here😊
Okay it really wasn't it was actually really well received and actually really well loved by fans but I that's your opinion and your entitled to it.
@@abbieee69 ooohhhh dear.....you are one of "those" 🤣
I disagree, in the technical and plot sense was mid af
But the pacing, the exploration, the setting and atmosphere and just the sheer fun of the gameplay make it extremely replayable, and that's what Resident Evil it's about
