Real black metal has nothing to do with all of the theatrics, it's all about the message behind the music, and dude, Attila is a fucking awesome singer. His work on De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas and Ordo Ad Chao is legendary.
Attila's vocals are on point on this one, but those two guitarists are not even close to Euronymous or Blasphemer. And a little bit more of stage presence would be great, because that doesn't look like a black metal concert at all.

At 4:30 you can clearly hear the throat-singing technique that Attila is using... that modulated overtone. So cool. You can hear this technique in a lot of eastern styles of folk music, but it is very unknown in the western world. Very cool how Atilla has made the culture of his region part of the history of black metal. I do believe that the best and only way that one should see Mayhem is in a small and closed place, being the main band. I saw them 2 weeks ago and was out of this world. Anyway, Attila is always awesome.

I'm grateful to Blasphemer and then Teloch afterwards for helping keep Mayhem alive. Yeah, they're not Euronymous but they're brilliant black metal musicians.

I really hate the way this looks. Fuckkng jeans and a leather jacket. Maybe for other bands, but that isn’t the mayhem way. I much prefer they way they tour now. When Attila is dressed up and everyone looks the part. I also just don’t like they way they played it here. Still kickass either way
I for one enjoy this causal looking daylight, leather jacket presentation. Far more interesting than all the mascara you see all the time. Also, probably a conscious artistic decision.

Behemoth's version is okay, When Attila sings the song and any other song on De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas, he adds a creepier vibe to it, and even though he doesn't sound too much like he did in the Tormentor days. His vocals give a similar vibe as they did in "Seventh Day Of Doom".
Actually Venom, Bathory, and Celtic Frost were the originators of Black Metal. but I have to agree that I liked Dead best on vocals, but Attila is the next best option to me, if it wasn't for De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas, Im sure many people wouldn't have heard of Mayhem.
