Kratos did not even want to fight Hercules he even said “ this is not between us Hercules” but with the darkness and Zeus corrupting his mind he left kratos no choice.Hercules could’ve walked away

This clash between two sons of Zeus is _especially_ fucked when you consider that the whole REASON for the Twelve Labors of Hercules was because it was his atonement after Hera sent him into a fit of madness that caused him to kill his whole family, just like what Ares did with Kratos.
Kratos looks at Hercules and sees what he would have been if he'd _remained_ a servant of Ares after his families death. Is it any wonder he shows him no mercy?
Hercules being a servant of Hera is super dumb, he is supposed to become a god at the end of his labors. Dude also lifted the cosmos on his back, like the other heroes GoW did him dirty to make Kratos look good
Probably the only god/demigod, Kratos had sympathy for.
No kratos looked at Hercules as a brother and even tried to reason with him before fighting him, he had no intentions to kill Hercules even if Hercules reminded him of himself.he simply looked up at him and said “this is not between us Hercules” but jealousy and thirst for power clouded his mind and this was Hercules downfall

I like how Kratos has enough sense to try to avoid an unnecessary death (Hercules) but the moment Hercules showcases that he has no intentions of backing down, Kratos just annihilates him
Love how Kratos shows absolutely no mercy to Hercules and leaves him a broken, bloody and dead mess floating in the water at the end

I still find it odd how Hercules wouldn't team up with Kratos given how they have VERY similar backstories and ARE brothers. Not to mention, both have a list of reasons to hate Hera and Zeus.
Simple. Family means nothing in Greek mythology. It’s only standing for them. They love themselves more than each other, of course they’d do anything they can to get in Zues’ good graces, simply for more clout/power.
I mean Hercules was _literally_ possessed by the Evils of Pandora's Box. Ya know... just like _everyone else_ on Mount Olympus? Thats kind of the _whole_ point of the game?

Say what you want about Kevin Sorbo, but hearing him as Hercules was definitely a nostalgic boot kick to the head. He did a great job voicing the character in this game.

If you look at most of Kratos's encounters, he gave most of them a chance to let him pass or leave him alone.

Aphrodite is Lust/vanity (which is why she's not the combat type and was spared)
Hercules is envy
Hades (as chill as he is since he's pretty tame amongst Olympus) is hatred/anger
Poseidon noticed that Zeus is being corrupted but was too late and got the sin of Sloth/Inactivity
Hera is Vain/Glutton
Hermes is arrogance
I think only Hephaestus didn't get corrupted as he was beaten by Zeus and hidden to seclusion. Plus he held no grudge on the Spartan but a dedicated father to Pandora.

At this point it does not matter if you play it on ps5 the PS4 version can handle it without problems, the PS3 version looked incredible as well.
Theres zero benefits to running this game on ps5 or even the PS4 pro runs at 1080p 60fps on all of them
I'm hoping a port comes soon so I can play it on PC. Apparently there's gonna be one but idk if it's just a rumor or a legit leak.

The PS4 Remastered Version was the last improvement having a slightly sharper areas and 60hz.

Finally! I found a video of this where the beatdown part at 12:27 is in sync with the music. It just feels so natural and harmonious seeing and hearing each punch sync well with each "Θάνατος" in the theme.

It’s been _heavily_ remastered lol. Trying comparing the original game to this and it’s like night and day. The original wasn’t even good for it’s time in terms of graphics. Gameplay and story? Fantastic. But the graphics were very subpar

God of War 3, still the best in the series. Always will be.
GoW 2 has a more respected place in my heart. Probably because it was my first grind of GoW. I had GoW 1 as well but the gore in the first game was too much for me. I was just a small kid when I saw the dragon's eye get pierced right through his skull. That scarred me for life lol.

To be fair, he did fight other creatures worse then hercules, but i imagine kratos still seen herc as a dangerous enemy and didn't hold back

I think out of all the games that released on the PS3 and Xbox 360, this one truly showed just how large the graphical jump was from the PS2/Xbox era. This game was a true next generation title and an incredible end to the trilogy.

The funny thing about the apple Hecules was told to retrieve is that it was guarded by a vicious dragon and Hercules was too chicken to steal it himself, so he had Atlas do it for him.
It’s crazy that these two knew about each other the whole time and consider each other brothers. What’s even crazier is how similar the labors or Hercules and the servitude to Ares are so similar. Kratos didn’t want to kill Hercules, and would’ve avoided doing so had Hercules got out of his way, but he chose to be prideful and make killing Kratos a labor so Kratos offed him.
Fun Fact: Kratos is supposedly 7ft…Hercules is supposedly 10ft
I do enjoy the small banter between Hera and Kratos- he seems to pity her to a degree and doesn’t seem as aggressively hostile towards her compared to all the other gods. It seems oddly wholesome when you compare it to the rest of the game

Here Hercules is a dark reflection of Kratos both kill their own families because the deception of a God the difference is that Kratos chose to revel against Ares meanwhile Hercules chose to become Hera pet. In the end Kratos is seeing what would happen if he kept fallowing the gods orders of the gods blindly. Hercules become proud and corrupt, he’s doesn’t care anymore about his family, he forgot that the labors were made so he could redeem himself of the madness that made him killed his family. Kratos gave him many warnings but in the end the desire for glory end up being Hercules undoing.
My favorite game of all time and the best God of war 😮💨 what a masterpiece!!

Kratos teaming up with Deimos & Hercules in GOW 3 would’ve made things more interesting. Would’ve like to see how the Demi God Trio would’ve been if they actually teamed up against Zeus and the other Gods, especially if both ended up dying while they were fighting the Gods would’ve made things more depressing for Kratos but could’ve made his anger and power increase more.

Chris Judge really does have the superior voice for Kratos. Haven’t played the original trilogy in years and hearing the old voice….I am glad they went in a new direction.

Chris Judge's voice is suitable for a wise old man Kratos while Terrence C. Carson is suitable for a young angry wild man.

The fact that people tried to tell me that’s this gameplay style was outdated and needed to be changed is laughable. GOW 2018 is a fine game but would have been a masterpieces if it had gameplay like this.

This is by far the best God of War that ever came out .. this game helped save ps3 . The graphics were the best the ps3 can offer !! All in a blistering 60 frames a second on ps3 hardware.

Well, this is one of the times that Kratos wished not to kill Hera and Hercules. Look how he calmly talked to Hera and asked for Pandora's location. But since Hera refused, Kratos held a bitterness towards her but still didn't angry or mad at her.

Fun fact, Kratos' birth is just like Heracles'. A pair of twins from different fathers; one obviously is Zeus.
Here Hercules complains Kratos was made a god, in mythology Heracles was also made a god and ironically replaced Cratus as the god of strength.
Heracles' twelve labors weren't for glory, they Heracles' path of redeption for killing his family because of Hera.
One of my favorite fights once it gets to just you and Hercules it just a straight up brawl
