As a current CVO owner and rider for the last 25 years, I still cannot understand why HD doesn't really step these motors up like the automotive industry has over the last 20 years. 115hp is embarrassing at the current price point. I know it's not a Hayabusa, but for the money, I want more power than I'll ever need. I shouldn't need to buy a Stage X kit to bring a $50k+ bike into this century.
Love my new 2024 CVO Street Glide for many reasons! Ride, VVT 121, water cooled heads, inverted forks, adjustable rear suspension, handling, brakes! Plus it’s a looker!!!
Sexiest CVO I've ever seen. My uncle and I love your videos Matt! We hope one day when we visit CA to come have a visit and buy some merch! He is 70 and you got him into riding! By far the best Harley video creators out there!
Matt and Nick great job as always. I check almost daily to see if you have come our with new videos. Some how I missed this one until today. I just purchased a 2023 CVO Street Glide in the Platinum and I love it so far. Only had it for a week. Great discussion and video. Thanks
Hi Mr. Matt and Laidlaws team! A very well done presentation and find the shared experiences, opinions, impressions and feedback very informative, educational and enlightening!! I agree that paint, in past, has been significant identifying feature for CVO models (that was "inclusive" into overall price). Now, to add $6,000.00 as an additional charge to an additional CVO charge? is unreasonable (my feeling/ opinion). I also agree that more color options are nice and can appeal to wider consumer potential (example 2014 CVO Road King, 3 color choices). Thank you with all my heart for the efforts energy and assiduous work invested into the video presentations!!
I've still got my 2017 CVO Street Glide in red and black with twin cooling . Its in pristine shape. Plus, I had a stage 4 added, upgraded clutch, upgraded suspension, a free flow bassani two to one exhaust, and a power vision tune. Putt on a Zippers 468 cam. There's no variable valve timing, but the bike is a Milwaukee 8 performance bagger. HP is 132 and 148 foot pounds of torque.
Your comment about the seamless transition to apple CarPlay is good . Yes when it works. Still has problems. Hopefully these bugs will be sorted out soon
The legendary orange is a $6000 up charge. That’s a total MSRP of $51,349. + $3300 sales tax. Think about that. And my local dealer still has unsold 2023 CVO glides.
Hi Mr. Matt and Mr. Nick! Thank you for your very comprehensive analysis review and personal perspective/ feedback regarding the '24 CVO! Awesome presentation and production. Agree 100% that the CVO should (for the price) have all the lighting possible (front fork, bag lighting, more custom rear vs. non CVO) (no reflectors). Not crazy custom design features but cool distinctive design features too. The suspension, wheels, engine are well done. Maybe future models add the soft shift with clutch upgrades?? Also agree paint options. Offer maybe, one more color choice and less $$$ for any upgrade. Definitely make paint more distinctive, cool and value for cost.
The new CVO SG for this year with the orange and black really appreciates the model. The silver SG just didn't pull on the heart strings for me. Thanks both for the review/discussion as always enjoy the different thoughts and feelings.
Great video as usual. I have the 23.5 CVO Street Glide in the Platinum. I agree they made the regular street and road glide very similar to the CVO street glide. Harley should have made something stand out apart from the regular street glide. At 44K it should standout vs the regular models. With that said it is still a very well-appointed bike very clean looking and class all around.
Harley finally came out with a color I liked when they made the 2023 Road Glide CVO in whiskey neat. Hate the price love the color. The 120th anniversary RG Special in red was nice too. The old model 2023 120th anniversary RG Limited CVO had a nice paint job also. Personally I don't like the paint on any of the 2024 CVO's. I do kind of like the Blue Burst color on the 2024 Road Glide. To each his or her own but to my eyes Harley Davidson has struggled to make a bike in an appealing color for years now.
Have not heard good things about the RF stereo, amp or speakers in both the CVO and standard models. Which is nothing new when it comes to Harley audio, but on 30-50k bikes it should be figured out by now.
@@MattLaidlaw Guess it depends who you talk to. Audiophiles vs. average joes. Just some reviews I've seen and read. Consensus is sounds good on showroom floor, but can't hear it out on the road. I fully upgraded audio/stereo on my Rushmore and it's noticeably better.
I really like the new Street glide fairing. I am not a big fan of the new Road Glide fairing. I like clean lines and the head light design looked more clean and not so busy even though it is suppose to resemble an eagle. The biggest problems I have with the new Street/Road glides is the cockpit does look cheap, not having a fully updated inverted front end, and the water jug and horn location. From what HD has done with the sportster line up to now the new baggers it has degraded from the fit finished that people expect from HD. I will add that the new scout 101 is what the Nightster S should be in a 975 package, and what a upgraded Roadster should have been in the 1250 package instead of the Sportster S.
Great review as usual. Well the Indian bikes have inverted forks on the challenger. I think at some point Harley will have to upgrade the suspension. They have raised the bar with the 24 model. I would love to own a cvo one day😊😊
Agree regarding suspension upgrade. Have the Wilbers setup on my Road Glide and it is a BIG improvement over Harley’s stock suspension. Indian has their suspension dialed in.
When given the option, I'll always pony up for electronic suspension, even on my sport bikes. A $$$ touring bike should have ESA in this day and age. Some Manufactures will have two versions of the same bike, until the standards don't sell enough.
The Road King isn't in production just the Road King special which is the same bike as last year. H-D doesn't talk about new products until they are announced at the beginning of the model year.
Very cool bikes. Just hope the cockpitronics do work solidly now, the cabling of HD falls behind the competition, the paintjob is well ahead, the chassis seems less top heavy on the Road Glide (will test it this weekend). Adding a 144ci upgrade would make it roll rear-heavy ;-) In Germany, in orange 54.000EUR + whatever hidden charges. And I wonder if that’s made in 3rd world country, too, as dealers in germany don’t service 1HD bikes. I wonder what one gets with such a bucket full of cheap money these days. I haven’t seen our salaries double or anything in that direction. The CVOs were at the edge of 40K, now wow! The delta is what a proper engine kit would cost you and that’s now … not in.
How Bad must the Harley navigation system be, that nobody casts a word about it other than, oh, best to use apple car play. If that’s really better? Wow! Just leave it out, don’t offer HD navigation. Or did I miss that they actually have done that? Ah, right, I thought so, it’s meeeh and only included in the CVOs. Wasted money.
Rode the RoadGlide2024 last weekend. The white glittery Shark. Congrats, huge improvement of the bike against the older models. I thought the old is better, no way, even from an old-school-vibe. Wait, what’s greatly improved? 1. And most impressive it’s not the engine. It’s the Weight balance, gosh, as if my neighbor jumped off the bars, so much more nimble than before, it’s now much easier to push around, too. 2. And still not the engine. It’s the high-speed highways carving precision of the chassis, firm suspension and more precise line picking than with my 2018 Indian Chieftain. 3. The engine, very smooth, much stronger than ever 117ci. I rode the 114 in 2020, was good then, much better now. Irrelevant to me as a straight tourer. 107, 114, 117 all would serve me well, more is always welcome. That rubber-dance in idle is a gift to the vibrator-people, but it’s just ridiculous rubber-bouncing not really representing an engine Vibration. Overdone. I can ignore that. I prefer rigid mount type engines. 4. The easily readable digital cockpit. Apple Car will help everybody, as until today I have not seen anybody using the internal navigation, it must be so inadequate. My disappointements: -1. The Rear shocks are crap, first try, instant bottoming out. And therefore incompetent if they have to deal with bad tarmac, just so that with my needs I’d have replaced them with Oehlins (solo sport/light but long travel) or Wilbers Nivomat (two-up, luggage) rides. They need to be lifting that horse up in the rear, more lenght, more progression. Clearly what’s biting Harley in the Back is the lack of a modern chassis Architecture for the Grand American Tourers, get it softailed and it’ll fix a lot of issues of the bike right away. -2. Leg-Space/Ergonomics, I’m not big, but am used to the much larger plates and more forward mounts and the Harley felt so much more compact, which it isn’t, but relatively that feel came up -3. Rough and Flimsy Plastics and Bag-Cover mounts, bad cable routings and open thin cables. And less “solid” controls with too many buttons, no functionality requires that many. I have all that stuff, too, but less buttons and great control on my Indian. -4. Small Bags (inside) while looking big from the outside. -5. Waterbottle . Since when is a Harley-Rider a Touring Slave serving Water to the Leader. Be free right with the Air flow. All in all, the platform aged a lot, the 2024 not only superficially improved on many key areas but technically too with all they could bring in, without revolutionizing the RoadGlide Architecture like Harley has done 2017 with the Softail. But that really means, they’re still 8 years behind the competition on the main motorcycle thing aside from an engine - the chassis-suspension! Would I trade? 2023 HD RG? Yes, instantly. 2018-2020 Indian Chieftain? No, but I’d have bought the RG then with my then existing Prio-List. Today, no, I expect more today than what I expected in 2019.
It is up to the brand (Harley Davidson in this case) to support the Android Auto API. It seems like HD does not want to support it going forward after announcing in 2020 that AA is supported. So now they're making excuses that per Google's announcement of discontinuing Android Auto for Phone Screens (different product) it's Google's fault. It's not. HD is to blame.
I don't have variable valve timing. BMW didn't do that until the 1250... What I've got... Is before digital dashboards 👍🏾 another plus. Do the Harleys have? Push button adjustable suspension settings? For both riding solo or two up? And accounting for luggage... What about 6 axle traction control and ABS?
Hey matt, do I have some serious coatings developed for the Harley’s! Graphene and keeps bugs from etching into them fairings and huge protection against scratches
The value factor mentioned is a sales perspective obviously. A handy owner knows that aside from the trim, aftermarket performance parts far exceed anything Harley can throw at a production bike. My 22 SGS might not be a CVO, but it rides better than any factory bike harley makes. My Big Bear suspension and mustang seat alone would make the pickiest rider smile with content. Nice color tho Harley! Lol
I like the bike but I think the version with the copperhead color and the scorched chrome is a more "unique" product compared to everything else out there and looks prestige. The legendary orange gives me KTM vibes...
When they start putting real dials and gauges back on the bikes, I'll consider one. Till then, my twin cams are just fine. I don't need a TV stuck in my face with pictures of gauges when I'm riding down the road. And these days... who knows if the damn thing is sending signals to cell phone towers tracking me or possibly has an integrated kill switch. ...the last was a bit of tinfoil hat speculation, but these days, who knows.
"U' can tell those 2 R diffently pro H.D. Be partisan- bike lacks higher cruise speed (governed to 101 mph + the added death woobles). Cool. But my HOG stock dropped 15% today. Hmmm. Time to divest? Or is a ridiculous drop like that just a bump in the road? I'll ride one but seriously considering reconsidering my investment. Not a good outlook for HD company-wise.
@@JA-zh5xi I only bought $2300. 10% of what I paid for my '23 FXLRS. Just an experiment to see easily what asset loses more value. Dumb reason for investment but that's what I did.

😮 You don't have to lift your left leg 🦵 Like some Neanderthal. Did Matt Laidlaw? just lay down the Law??? 😅 Bringing formula 1 paddle shifters to next year's bike? HD👹Trigger shifters 🔥? Great idea Matt. You're the man!...👽
I’m kind of shocked to hear you guys breaking down the CVO. Probably the best CVO ever produced!!! Badging & speakers that typically identify it???? Seat is different! Easy bros! 😂😂
I understand I ride a non-cool machine but... It was cheap compared to a Harley. Makes more horsepower... And is speed limited at 130 miles an hour unfortunately 😅 anyway, does just about everything better... Without a stereo😮 I lose you win 😊
These are all really nice bikes, what demographic is Harley targeting being a 40,000 dollar bike and what percentage of people that can afford this, I bought my first Harley at 22years old, even a starter Harley goes for about 15, lot of Harley dealerships and independent shops do not work on used bikes, what would be your answer to boost the younger crowd/affordability to boost sales and keep the desire in owning a Harley Davidson, when the boomer crowd goes away what's next?
This is a CVO that is the most expensive bike HD makes. A low percentage of people can afford this. Just like a low percentage of people can afford a Chevy Corvette. But a higher percentage can afford a Silverado. So the bulk of HDs sales are not the CVOs but rather 15-26 thousand dollar bikes. It’s an expensive motorcycle still but we have all kinds of people that buy them. The boomer crowd is already aging out and a low percentage of our sales now. Most of our sales are gen X and millennials. So to answer your question. What’s next after baby boomers. The answer is we sell to the younger generations.
@@MattLaidlaw I am a 66 year old just bought a new Lowrider S and put a stage two in it, nothing beats a Harley, just curious on how many are still tattooing the brand on their shoulders if you catch my drift
Beautiful bike. The Harley website states $44,499 starting price and $6000 for the paint. So that's a $51k+ bike. HD you are outta your mind. I'll stick with my 2001 fatboy.
How much of this tech is reliant on foreign suppliers?. I'm feeling kinda uncertain about buying a new bike for such a high cost, only to potentially need to wait weeks for modules etc from abroad, or maybe not at all...
That's cheap... here in Australia, that exact bike is $73,990 AUD. But hey I'd love those wheels on my Low Rider S instead of the horrible bronze shit I've got..
Then go buy a $20k bike if you want. For folks that are going to do all this to their bike anyway, this actually makes sense because you can’t upgrade a standard SG to CVO level for the price difference of the CVO.
When I hear I would ride that seat for 300 miles… how come ? It’s the worst seat they have ever made. Regular 24 models offers way more comfort than this wooden seat
Man… Harley sure blew it on that color scheme…kind of common for Harley these days… I really loved the color scheme on the 2016 street glide CVO with the carbon crystal and the phantom flames… Also one of my favorite bikes was the 2016 CVO pro Street breakout in the Starfire black…which I had and sad that I sold it
A head to head comparison between RG CVO ST and RG CVO would be appreciated.

I like the bike but I think the version with the copperhead color and the scorched chrome is a more "unique" product compared to everything else out there and looks prestige. The legendary orange gives me KTM vibes...
Orange plastic, straight lines and stickers all over ?
Along with the reservoir: The road glide also hides the less than stellar high speed stability of the SG
Beautiful motorcycle
Im not an Apple guy, big Android fan. How is that going to affect my experience with the infotainment/Navigation system?
They gotta drop the road kind price next year. For the price of the current road king is like 1k less the road or street glide.
My Grom has inverted front forks. Can't use that as an excuse to upcharge here.
Yea but they are shitty. Can’t compare the two.
@@MattLaidlaw Point is that USD by itself doesn't mean anything. "Fully adjustable Showa suspension" is what you get on a $13k Suzuki.
"U' can tell those 2 R diffently pro H.D. Be partisan- bike lacks higher cruise speed (governed to 101 mph + the added death woobles). A ballast/weight was used to correct the death wobbles which in turn eliminated the advertised lower bike weight. There's also another RECALL pertaining to the infotainment system/shuts off on average every 15 mns.; an along with that you have difficulty changing ride modes.Let's not forget some of us R having periodically starter issues. I've had mine 4 wks.an already twice had over heated engine within 13 mn. ride time. My bike is a 2024 CVO St.Gld. copperhead-- FLHXSE with 3200 miles. On a positive comment, it is fast from 0 to 85. Unfortunately I can't keep up with my buddies if cruising over 95 + .My comments are not spoken in Political jargen, they will always be blunt & straight forward.
Crazy to see just how much the SG has declined in popularity compared to the RG! 😮
Cool. But my HOG stock dropped 15% today. Hmmm. Time to divest? Or is a ridiculous drop like that just a bump in the road? I'll ride one but seriously considering reconsidering my investment. Not a good outlook for HD company-wise.
Awesome!! I bought in at low 30s in 2022 and got out in the upper 40s in 2023. Was looking to get back in again - today was the day!
@@JA-zh5xi I only bought $2300. 10% of what I paid for my '23 FXLRS. Just an experiment to see easily what asset loses more value. Dumb reason for investment but that's what I did.
Just like ship ❤🇧🇩
The seats are way too stiff! I had to have my seat redone with gel inserts.
For 60g+ at some dealers, it's definitely not worth it. Harley is getting way crazy with their prices.
Would the VVT121 not lug in 6th at 65?
I got a 2023 with a 124 in it and that thing def doesn’t wanna be below 3k.. totally different than a stock VVT bike but even when my bike was stock then SE stage2 it didn’t wanna run in 6th at 65.. m8 wanna rev!
I get bangin mpgs if just cruise at 80mph. That motor takes nothing to do 80
Doesn't lug at all at 65 mph in 6th, thanks for watching!
whts the actual increase in rear suspension travel ? from what to what as its terrible on many models
2 inches to 3 inches.
Very Beautiful Bike....But very expensive...
Yep, cash money 💰 money entry level for street players 💸
Cool Factory baby 😁

Did Matt Laidlaw? just lay down the Law??? 😅 Bringing formula 1 paddle shifters to next year's bike?
HD👹Trigger shifters 🔥?
Great idea Matt. You're the man!...👽
HOT!!!
I’m kind of shocked to hear you guys breaking down the CVO. Probably the best CVO ever produced!!! Badging & speakers that typically identify it???? Seat is different! Easy bros! 😂😂
I don’t follow you.
epic
I understand I ride a non-cool machine but... It was cheap compared to a Harley. Makes more horsepower... And is speed limited at 130 miles an hour unfortunately
😅 anyway, does just about everything better...
Yeah shit or really good down payment on a home.
Don’t buy what you can’t afford.
I can afford it, but no way in hell it's worth the sticker price

How much of this tech is reliant on foreign suppliers?. I'm feeling kinda uncertain about buying a new bike for such a high cost, only to potentially need to wait weeks for modules etc from abroad, or maybe not at all...
I would love to get a bike above a sportster but riding in a straight line for more then an hour is one of the most boring things ever
Keeling Circle
Tanner Lock
CVOshould have electronic mirrors 😮
What’s that?
That's cheap... here in Australia, that exact bike is $73,990 AUD. But hey I'd love those wheels on my Low Rider S instead of the horrible bronze shit I've got..
Wyman Plains
Maudie Road
Seems much easier to buy a $20,000 bike.😅
It is financially easier but that's relative to have much money you have I suppose.
or 3.
Then go buy a $20k bike if you want. For folks that are going to do all this to their bike anyway, this actually makes sense because you can’t upgrade a standard SG to CVO level for the price difference of the CVO.
7.600€ vor new paint... realy ? for what
60k is way too much for any motorcycle.
STOP CAPPING!

When I hear I would ride that seat for 300 miles… how come ? It’s the worst seat they have ever made. Regular 24 models offers way more comfort than this wooden seat

Man… Harley sure blew it on that color scheme…kind of common for Harley these days… I really loved the color scheme on the 2016 street glide CVO with the carbon crystal and the phantom flames… Also one of my favorite bikes was the 2016 CVO pro Street breakout in the Starfire black…which I had and sad that I sold it
Just the same, I wouldn't turn one down. 😉

$25999, Lol that's just the base SG or RG chrome package that nobody wants. Add the blackout package and your 30K out the door.
I wouldn’t speak so fast about people not wanting chrome, it’s making a bit of a comeback.
