  • Did you know that you need to maintain a logbook with the details of every flight? You’re also supposed to keep a log of every maintenance action or modification that is done to your drone.
So give us a couple minutes of your time, and we’ll give you the low down on the requirements to log your drone flights and maintenance. This is pretty important, if you fail to comply with the regulations, you could be facing up to $1000 in fines per occurrence!

Would you agree, that if anyone ever got into a legal issue over sub sections to CARS 900... that the CARS issues would be the least of their worries? ie: Not keeping a logbook... I suspect that, "Criminal Negligence" would be the forfront concern

That sounds like a fair assessment. In most things in life, you mess up one thing, there's reason to go look and see what else wasn't done properly.

Passing the test & keeping recency up to date should be enough for the recreational RPAS pilot! TC has gone to far it’s just ridiculous! It’s a drone!!! Mods WTF? come on!!! I understand prop maintenance! You have to visually check most drones before they’ll even let you power it up! If this is for business sure! If say you’re out flying an FPV drone like the DJI Avata, your spotter is there, you have your pilot certificate up-to-date recency, unlocked your FlySafe if needed , checked your surroundings , your not being an idiot! I think that’s enough!! I am not going to keep a log book!
