Fantastic! I've been reusing plastic bags that you pack your produce in when you shop at a supermarket. I wash them out and reuse repeatedly but glass containers are even better!
If I opened a restaurant I would name it “ Galette”. I would serve savory and sweet galettes, salads other desserts and great coffee and teas. Your galettes all look delicious! Thanks for sharing🌷
this video was SO educational! i love how you've explained each element, and i'm definitely going to borrow some tips from your video for today's picnic galette. thank you! :)
Thank you very much for the informative video. I have made many sweet galette's, but have not yet made a savory galette. Your video has inspired me to pursue making savory galette's. While watching I have an idea of using feta cheese along with toasted mushrooms as part of the filling. Maybe also some lamb as well. Thanks once again for spending your time to create this video for us.
I've used this recipe thrice and each time it comes out incredibly perfect and dellliiicious! I get creative with the fillings and now it's a family fav! Thank you ❤️😍
I stopped searching for a dish idea when I came upon your vid. I'll make a Greens Galette for this SAT's lunch w a dear friend (the veggies will come from my garden). Here's the plan of the day: she'll teach me silversmithing while the hubbs tinker with their musical instruments in the garage. I'll bring her a pink bouquet of garden zinnias and bake the galette in her oven. Thanks for the idea!
I'm so glad you liked the video Brooke! Yes you absolutely can. Just shape it into a disk and wrap it tightly. It should be good for a month or two in the freezer. - Paula
i've made about 4 galettes so far with your dough recipe and your filling guidelines and they've come out incredibly well (substituted the cornmeal for semolina)! i cant begin to tell you how much i look forward to the end-of-month scraps so i can toss it all together and bake a delicious, filling meal :) we've even made a dent in the dips and sauces we've collected over the years!! i always have a disk of galette dough in the freezer now :D you said that once you have the recipes for a savoury dough and a sweet dough down, you can wing the fillings and i totally agree! i looked through you channel but i didn't see any mention of a sweet dough. is that part of a video to come?
Hi J! Ahh this is music to my ears. I'm so glad your galettes are working out! I did use the sweet pastry dough in my apple galette video. It's really old though! One of our first videos. 😅 Here's the link: ruclips.net/video/t_2r5v3BEAU/видео.html Thanks for connecting and I'm so glad you're enjoying the videos! - Paula
@@HowToMakeDinner hi, me again! lost my recipe card with your galette dough and came running back here lol thought youd like to hear that i introduced my indian grandparents to galettes and they love them :)
I grew up making quiches, but galettes sound tasty also! Felt like leek, so that's whats sautéeing here ;) just waiting for the husband to come home with the flour for the crust now..
Update: I stopped wrapping my dough in plastic wrap. Instead, I pop it into a glass food container with a tight-fitting lid. Voila!

Sounds like a place I’d love to visit!
If I had another caramel-colored cat, I'd name her "Galette".
YES! This is the video I've been searching for. I wanted info on how to make any kind, with some basic understanding. Thank you!!!
Somehow wrapping anything in a good pie crust makes it super delicious 🤤
This is true!

@@HowToMakeDinner Thanks, Paula! Can't wait to try :D
I can make these...Granny makes excellent pies. So i will have her make the crust and i will fill em. Thanks for the idea. They look great.
Sounds like a great collaboration! Also, granny-made crusts are always the best.

Awesome! How did it turn out?
Just made this!!
hello! loved your video! if i’m making 3 small galettes, can they go in the oven together? or one by one?
Throw em in together! If your oven is uneven you might need to rotate the tray once or twice
Can we leave the dough in the fridge longer than an hour? If we are not ready to use it yet
Well real men don't eat quiche but galettes sound Super Manly! I'm in!
Galettes are gender neutral! All will enjoy!!
@@HowToMakeDinner hmm.. I'm 62 so I'm just gonna have to take a guess. Gender neutral. Is that like an extra gear in a Prius?
Let’s just say, a galette doesn’t discriminate? 😂
@@HowToMakeDinner 😎😎 Really enjoy your vids! Thank you
@steven steven I'm so glad! thanks for watching! I really enjoy your commentary! 😃
Hi, is the temperature 425F for convection or regular oven? thank you!
Ooh if you’ve got a convection I’d drop it to 400!
Alternative of beaten egg? Vegetarian?
You could use an egg substitute! There seem to be a lot on the market these days :)
big like and a new subscriber!
Why the apple cider vinegar?
It’s said that vinegar helps prevent gluten formation leading to a more tender crust. That being said, it is totally good with or without.
I spell savoury with a "u" too
Super funny
450 grams of filling weight for 1 big galette
Yes! I realized later that was a bit confusing 😅
Good galette video but pounding background "music" was depressing and annoying as it interfered w the instructions...finally muted.
why does she look pissed and bothered? girl this is YOUR video
Make an oval next time!
I'm sorry but the repetitiveness of the background music got so annoying that I couldn't watch the video.
Can u marry me 🙏🏼😍😂😂
