Easy routes to finals, semi finals etc leaving key players at home, playing players out of positions, defensive strategies with an attacking team. It isn’t good when you look at it that way. Sven probably would have won the World Cup with the knockout routes Southgate had.
He doesn't play to lose, that's just silly. Unfortunately he plays not to lose with winning coming a distant second & that's where the problem lies. England take the lead & they're obviously told to drop deep & defend. It happens so often that it is obviously Southgate's policy, a flawed one given England then defend like the Keystone cops. His lack of ambition & the team's lack of cohesion really dictates he needs to be replaced..... hopefully not by another clone of 'safe hands' so beloved by the F.A.
English managers set their standards too high. They want to immediately get a job in the Premier League and not work their way up from the bottom. I mean, Jurgen Klopp began in 2. Bundesliga with Mainz. Max Allegri started in the Serie C2. Sir Alex started in the Scottish Second Division. Why didn't Lampard, Gerrard, Rooney and the likes not want to go any lower than the Championship? Why didn't they consider going abroad to gain experience??. There are 20 teams teams in the Premier League and only 6 managers are British. From these 6 Brits only 3 are English (plus 1 Scot, 1 Welshman and 1 N.Irishman). Only nine managers have won the Premier League in its 25-year history, with Manchester United's former manager Alex Ferguson of Scotland winning it 13 times. Like the comment at the beginning, Southgate hadn't really achieved much before getting this job. All the best non-English managers are the best in the Premier League. Guardiola, Arteta, Emery, ten Hag and recently Klopp, Wenger and Mourinho, (Liverpool aren't stupid, they signed Arne Slot from Feyenoord Rotterdam). In Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands etc. they will give chances to young coaches and give them time to develop, whereas Premier League clubs would rather poach the best talents from overseas. So what is wrong? The only Englishman who could have achieved something would have been Brian Clough. Took Derby County to 2st Division promoted as Second Division champions and, three years later, crowned champions of England for the first time in the club's history. In 1973, they reached the semi-finals of the European Cup. When he took over Forest, he turned them into one of Europe's best teams..Clough was universally seen as a hard but fair manager, who insisted on clean play from his players and brooked no stupid questions from the press He was charismatic, outspoken, and often controversial He insisted on being called "Boss" and earned great respect from his peers for his ability to turn a game to his and his team's advantage. And...he wasn't an FA bum-licker. It would have been interesting to see what he would have done with this squad...a lot more for sure.

You have to separate man from manager. I don't like Southgate's wokeism, indeed I believe it cost the Euro title against Italy, but he's not an offensive man & doesn't deserve all this bile & hatred. Pretty much on point. He is wildly incompetent in every field. He doesn't even seem to be fully engaged with the team or football itself. The success England had was despite him, not because of him. Time to empty the seat, Mr Southgate. Let some proper manager take control, show you how it's done!
The media seems to love him, always advocating that we be patient, "he need time", as for the rest of England, they feel obligated to like him, his a "nice guy", it would be unpatriotic to criticize the champion of the people
I said it then, and I say it again: Gareth Southgate is definitely not the man for England. It's unfortunate that England has never had the right manager. It's a team full of talent, but no one has ever been there to do the right thing. Unfortunate. -Disappointed fan from Nepal since 1998-
Ferguson, Shankly, Paisley, Busby, Dalglish and Clough are the only ones I can think of since I've been a football fan. Since then...all top managers (except for Ferguson)have been non-Brits have been non-English). I've always said...Ferguson would have worked wonders with this squad, let alone Clough. Different mentality. Not "bum-lickers".
the problem is, he always find a way to make things difficult for the team. his playing style in my opinion close to jose mourinho, but he lacks in every aspect like adaptation to the game, dull XI, not bringing up spirit in team talk, etc. at this point his managerial capabilities is just stuck like FIFA/PES player rating, it's not going up but keep going down. i mean with this pack of elite player, england have somehow he manage to make them all look real bad and unsync at each other. depending individual abilities, such a sad manager.
Sancho’s Manchester United stint was so bad that even after joining Dortmund again(on loan) and became good again he was even on the squad for the warm up matches

Worst England manager in my lifetime. Me 50 yrs old. His man management is shocking, Tactics r dreadful. He doesn't ooze any motivation, the players have no faith in him. Can't beat a good team. Clueless 🤡

Per Mertsacker said on German TV: "Southgate is a coach without a vision of how his team should play, without a plan of how they should play or even a plan B". But England need a coach like that - a coach like Pep or Klopp, a coach who lights a fire in the players, "lights them up". But Southgate sits on the bench for 90 minutes and doesn't communicate with his players, he just sits there! As a German I could now say that the best Englishman wears the 10 of the German national team and is called Musiala!!! But that's too short-sighted! I wouldn't begrudge you English a title, but not with these soulless performances, where is the English fighting spirit? I've always liked watching English teams because they fought, worked hard and now? Nothing but a squad with a market value of 1.3 billion - at least on paper!!!
Southgate is a fool and idk why he's still Englands manager. I very much agree with the thing u said about the 2020 euros, like why he would even let Saka take the 5th penalty is something i wonder to this day. No hate or anything, I'm black as well, i just mean like, he was 19 so why would he let him take that penalty, and back then he wasn't very used to taking them. I'm convinced Southgate has only made it this far because of the talents in his team. Good video though!
I think that he did that with Saka because Southgate had the same pressure in 96. In his twisted mind, he probably thought he was doing the kid a favour. Saka always puts everything into his game and is talented.
Southgate is so woke, he still believes in bending the knee, which causes division amongst fans and players. He also wanted black players to take the last penalties so we would have a 'black hero'. Thats how woke he is, and thats the agenda. Thats more important than results in Wokegates mind.
This guy is in my 10 most hated people on the planet list. Not kidding. I cannot stand people that destroy a product/company because of their own ego. He KNOWS that he's not qualified for the job, but he stays in there for his own devices. Such a disservice to the nation.
England have won nothing since 1966, I for one do not care about semi finals and beaten finalists. But England are leaders, we are the biggest ùnderachievers in world soccer. Start winning something or England managers will always be regarded as useless.
we don't what it's like to play with "heart" and to get stuck in there. All of these smaller teams including Romania and most of all Georgia have been cheered by their fans even after they lost. They tried their best and went out fighting. England's not able to do that....go out yeh, but without fighting.
He is good tactically but trying Arnold in midfield won't just work but his selection has been a doubt he didn't call up Madison who was good for Spurs and didn't call a natural left back like Mitchell
Don't think HATE is the right word, he's actually a very decent nice man who is non confrontational and always tends to say the right things (abet in a monotone boring style) to the media. My view is that 1: He's terribly inexperienced as a manager with a poor record at club record 2: He's too nice and always trying to please his players, this works to a point but at some point you need to chastise the players if and when they perform poorly 3: He's not a winner, constantly refers to "trying your best" is enough, where as someone like Pep is obsessed with winning. He classed reaching finals and losing as failure where as Southgate would class losing to a decent team as acceptable in the later rounds as unlucky. 4: His substitutions always seem to be decided pre game not based on what he sees on the pitch. They always tend to be very late and there's a massive caution to everything with the focus being on not losing, instead of trying to win. It's totally understandable why the England fans feel frustrated. We have so many attacking players but the focus seems to be on defensive duties.
0:00 to 0:17 all this achievement by a failure of a manager.other nations have tactics like Italy solid defense,Germany defensive and Spain fast fluid football.England's tactic:calling up a bunch of amazing players and failing constantly.
Ive been saying it since the start. We havent been playing average, we have just been playing as good as we have to in order to beat the team were up against. Thats why we looked so good against The Netherlands. Southgate has a plan, and drunken tipsy fans dont know better than a professional manager. England HAS NOT lost a game this tournament. WE ARE IN THE FINAL. Southgate done more than any other manager has in the last 50 years. Stop being so negative.
This mentality is why England don’t win. Imagine if Spain were happy getting to the final in 2008. That was their first final in a long time, if they just got to the final it was an achievement but they went there and won. They weren’t happy with 2nd like england

HE JUST COULDN'T GET THE JOB DONE EVEN WITH THE PRIME 2018 SQUAD.😔.
Watching grass grow are more exciting than watching Southgates England play. Even if it’s artificial grass😂
Good on him for making England to have the strongest defence in the tournament right now (probably). However he has to make England attack more.
Pretty much on point. He is wildly incompetent in every field. He doesn't even seem to be fully engaged with the team or football itself. The success England had was despite him, not because of him. Time to empty the seat, Mr Southgate. Let some proper manager take control, show you how it's done!
The problem of Southgate is that he has no good CV.
The media seems to love him, always advocating that we be patient, "he need time", as for the rest of England, they feel obligated to like him, his a "nice guy", it would be unpatriotic to criticize the champion of the people
Patriotism isn't allowed anymore, in England.
Do keep up.
I have never seen such ferocious criticism of a manager/coach as the panels after the England games.
NICE VIDEO G
Thanks 💯
Sancho’s Manchester United stint was so bad that even after joining Dortmund again(on loan) and became good again he was even on the squad for the warm up matches
Because yet again the FA sold us a Croc of doo dah that suited their existence, not a proven manager with credentials warranting the national job. He's a failed Championship manager who nobody wanted after he got Middlesbrough relegated.
I've never hated any manager as much Southgate for what he has done on and off the field.
We the fans have had enough, we watch premier league football-we know tactics , we know the players, we have knowledge - the players do as well, obvs - they not believing in this doughnut anymore. After his semi and final, like poch at spurs - he should have walked after those games … it’s never going to happen again for them
I have to agree with most english ppl. Southgates decisions has been more than questionable and he is not the right man for the job.
One goal 90 video a day keeps the doctor away
Boring, negative, clueless.
Every member of that side knows how to keep the ball in their league sides but not with clowngate in charge…
Sancho didn't lead Dortmund to a cl final. He was part of the team but he certainly didn't lead them.
Great points as England fan myself I don’t like southgate but you can not deny that he hasn’t made national team better
Actually
Better in which way? The England squads he's had could have done better if a donkey managed them.
Finally someone mentioned why the hell Tomori isn’t even called up! It’s baffling. Genuinely want us to lose Sunday and be done with it if they play like that again
Top support!! Nice one mate! wanting your own country to lose!! Don't like it don't watch it. You won't be missed.

@@mikeaxworthy8809 Of course, how silly of me to question the loyalty and expertise of a complete know all! I fully deserve the fish! You can now go about your day with your head 3 times it's normal size!
Dont have a replacement for Kalvin phillips 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
If you watch nigerai football it's exactly how englad plays what he said, overcomplicating the squad no tactics if England scored they sit back instead of attacking for more goals I mean how can bellingham even win the ballon d'or so disappointed
Bellingham is all about Bellingham and the problem in the team
@@dondamon4669 I can't stand the guy. He's good (most of the time)..but since going to RM his ego is getting bigger month by month. I can't stand seeing him when he goes to the fans after the goal holding his hands up high like some kind of God. (Just like Ronaldo showing the world his 6-pack)
He is the Epitome of English football players.
He reflects back at players, pundits and supporters the level of English football...and they don't like it.
How did Southgate get the England job?He was useless at Middlesborough.Get amanager like Redknapp in.
He's making the same mistakes as Jochim Low did as Germany manager post 2016. Staying loyal to older players and not giving younger players a chance.
Despite Mitchell having a good season with Crystal Palace, Southgate decided to pick Luke Shaw when he is not fully fit but I cannot blame him. He is England’s veteran and only natural Left back
Worst England manager in my lifetime. Me 50 yrs old. His man management is shocking, Tactics r dreadful. He doesn't ooze any motivation, the players have no faith in him. Can't beat a good team. Clueless 🤡
Good players will get to to the final without a weak and clueless manager
He was too defensively minded for most of his time and tactically naive against better teams. His success has been on the back of beating weaker teams. His time is up.
By the way here is my squad if I was England manager. Formation: 3-4-1-2. GK: Pickford CBs: Ezri Konsa, Marc Guehi and John Stones. LM: Anthony Gordon. RM: Cold Palmer 🥶🥶CMs: Declan Rice and Connor Gallagher. CAM: Jude Bellingham. STs: Ollie Watkins and Harry Kane
Poor manager, poor players, poor team.
I've never liked him, he's always managed to get the players to under perform despite their wealth of talent.
Transformed England to a 60 stats team 😂
He's certainly not the worst
Despite me as a Liverpool fan, I think Jarrod Brantwaithe deserved it more than Joe Gomez to be in England’s final squad.
He kept many clean sheets this season and was pivotal for Everton’s survival despite the 8 points deduction
Sterling and Rashford weren’t at their best this season. Jack Grealish wasn’t called up because he spent majority of the season on the bench at City
2.57 because Rashford had terrable seoson
2:57 *
You can't defend him. He's absolutely clueless.
What about Steve McClaren?
He was a hundred times worse.
Leave Gareth alone he is doing a good job.
He doesn’t take risks
Man, how fast do they make these videos
He should have at least taken either Grealish or Maddison if not both how could he have left both of them out
watch georgia play, they have hunger
Him and Ramsey are the only manager's to get us to a final end off
Per Mertsacker said on German TV: "Southgate is a coach without a vision of how his team should play, without a plan of how they should play or even a plan B".
Best thing England camp can do is lock Southgate in the toilet and ask Bellingham how his squad went about winning Champion's League silverware
Hahaha
4:42 Everton fans after not calling up brandwaite
man i knew we were missing some good lads but this put it into perspective gareths gotta go
When he finally goes, he'll be replaced by someone just as useless.....That's the FA for you.
First +great content ❤
Southgate is a fool and idk why he's still Englands manager. I very much agree with the thing u said about the 2020 euros, like why he would even let Saka take the 5th penalty is something i wonder to this day. No hate or anything, I'm black as well, i just mean like, he was 19 so why would he let him take that penalty, and back then he wasn't very used to taking them. I'm convinced Southgate has only made it this far because of the talents in his team. Good video though!
correct totally agree
I think that he did that with Saka because Southgate had the same pressure in 96. In his twisted mind, he probably thought he was doing the kid a favour. Saka always puts everything into his game and is talented.
@@stevecatcheside4707 sometimes i wonder what the other players were thinking when he chose him to take the pen
What has being black got to do with it? Any footballer should score a penalty at any time!
Yeah exactly the same thing we City supporters say here in Norway. Why not Haaland??👺😠
Aren't you glad that Haaland is playing for you tho?
Hello mate i really want to edit your videos
England have won nothing since 1966, I for one do not care about semi finals and beaten finalists. But England are leaders, we are the biggest ùnderachievers in world soccer. Start winning something or England managers will always be regarded as useless.
we don't what it's like to play with "heart" and to get stuck in there. All of these smaller teams including Romania and most of all Georgia have been cheered by their fans even after they lost. They tried their best and went out fighting. England's not able to do that....go out yeh, but without fighting.
😊😊Southgate looks like Cold Palmer😊😊
Bro Calm Down The Lat Video was 1 hr ago and this another one😂
He's so flipping consistent isn't he
Lool. Cheers man
Its like having Prime Real Madrid being managed by your sons sunday league second in charge cone boy!
This is a tournament too far, he has failed 3 times, why let him balls it up again as this is what he is doing
The FA need to have a 50/50 rule on managers. English manager bearly get a chance, so the options are not there.
He should start wearing that paper bag over his head again 😂
Nice vid
He is good tactically but trying Arnold in midfield won't just work but his selection has been a doubt he didn't call up Madison who was good for Spurs and didn't call a natural left back like Mitchell
Nice.
Clough or Ferguson wouldn't have been all the things you mentioned above.
Tomori really deserves to play for Euro 24 but whether Southgate’s partially racist or he never even notices he has him
With this england team, even I could manage this team to a world cup trophy, yet southgate failed
English players are overhyped by english media that's all😂😂
Anything England has ‘achieved’ under Southgate is in spite of him not because of him.
Southgate also seems to fancy Gallagher 😂😏
0:00 to 0:17 all this achievement by a failure of a manager.other nations have tactics like Italy solid defense,Germany defensive and Spain fast fluid football.England's tactic:calling up a bunch of amazing players and failing constantly.
I hope Gareth sees this comment because if England win Euros 2024 because of this formation he has to thank me for this
Ive been saying it since the start.
From what you are saying, then the final will be a classic.
@@Goal_90 We'll have to wait and see
Lost yet another final. But let's keep rewarding failure.
This mentality is why England don’t win. Imagine if Spain were happy getting to the final in 2008. That was their first final in a long time, if they just got to the final it was an achievement but they went there and won. They weren’t happy with 2nd like england
