    I love this!! It feels dreadful and weird at the same time. The voices say stuff that you would read online and that I've heard quite often in real life. Also you gotta love the ending. The way he moves puts his head in his hands seems so powerful, reassuring himself that he is in fact a "real" man. The voice gives me shivers, props to the actor for that, he really seems like he's constantly having to proove himself.
    Also nice touch on the sidebar at the beginning ;)

      @@InteractiveIdea It's just combining a ton of redpill talking points as well as things redpillers say about themselves/other men/what they say about women. They're kind of a hivemind of talking points parroting one another and there's literally not a single redpiller that's any different from another. It's like they all fall into line of this way of thinking and they think it's really edgy and unique but it's actually just the same B.S spewed repeatedly the exact same way by each "induvidual" - the quotes are to emphazise that none of them are actually individuals at all. They're a copy of a copy of a copy and eventually this echo chamber blends together to create a static noise.

      You're creepy. It's like me saying you are a feminazi because you're a man hater. I'm not a misogynist just because I'm a red pillar. I'm a man like millions of others who are sick of having diminishimg rights because of the feminazi movement. The men's rights movement is not going anywhere and its gaining traction including revisitation of male reproductive rights to save the lives of our unborn children that would simply be murdered by selfish leftist women who are entitled and narcissistic in thinking men do not have a say. Well we do and we will. We are as a gender are sick and tired of the biased family court and divorce laws that rape us financially. So much so that any benefit that marriage had for us men has diminished because of having to pay up to 70 percent of our salary for child support and alimony. And this is true in many cases even if the female makes more money. I could go on but you get the idea but b4 and others spew hate towards an ideology please learn about it b4 judging. To the fellas in the comment section joining the feminazis in judgement, just think about the fact you are putting down the brave men who are advocating for your rights for equality in parenting. You will no doubt change your outlook when it's you paying most of your salary to an ex wife while being denied fair and equitable custody of your children. Its time.....

      @@zeeggheaddaboi5888 the only people who diminish your rights are alt-right fascists who dictate how you can and should act and how you can and should look and shame you if you don't conform. Feminism fight for men's right to be themselves without gender roles, alt-right and redpill try to uphold them. Who looks more misandristic now? People who tell men to be themselves and don't care about gender roles or the ones that bully them for not conforming to their view of toxic masculinity?

    • @MrJojux
      @MrJojux 4 года назад +3

      @@TheManinBlack9054 Yes and no. Yes on the point that all people that diminish the rights of men are alt-right fascists. If that'd be the case it would be easy. Rarely is though unfortunatly. There are people like that in all political spectrums. In theory a good feminism stands up for all genders. However many people declare men the enemy under the label of feminism. Unfortunatly those are often the people that scream quite loudly and those are opinions that are heard on the internet and the media.
      There are issues that concern uniquely or disproportionally men. Paternity fraud is an issue unique to men. Bias in court judgement effects disproportionally men. Workplace accidents/mortality - disproportionally men. And there are many more. But I never heard anyone talk about those problems under the lens of feminism. I don't know the numbers in the US, but in Germany there are nearly 4000 shelters for women who suffer from domestic abuse. They offer over 10000 places for women in need of refuge. And it is great that they exist. It is important and vital to have these places. I don't want to defund them. But it is also a fact that there are 6 of these shelters for men. All of them combined have 11 places for men who suffer from domestic abuse. Another house that offered 4 places was closed after 3 years because they could not get any funds anymore. Even though it is estimated that 20% of domestic abuse is suffered by men, they have 0.1% of the options to get away from that cycle. And that is a problem.
      The only solution is to actually listen to the problems of all genders and work together to fight them. There are many men out there who treat women horrible and I don't want to defend them. These people need to be shown that things like these can not be accepted anymore. But there are also great guys, who suffer from horrible women. And those people need our help too. Not some claim, that their cause is covered, without actually adressing the issue. Because if people don't get heard they end up frustrated and often start doing stupid things.
      I am not a "Red Pill" guy. I used to call myself feminist, but while I still agree with ideals of feminism I am starting to be more hesitant to say that about me. The name of the movement puts a strong focus on feminin problems. And while I agree that those are more widespread, I also think that problems of men are often scoffed at. By men who like to define themselves as an alpha male and within the role that creates toxic masculinity. But also by people in the feminist movement who claim everyone talking about male problems are sexist. And by people who don't care about a gender movement and passivly accept and expect the status quo.

      You only deny validity of criticism because activists like you only care about your own feelings and activism for you ends at that comfort zone, you refuse to be uncomfortable work together and actually make a change, just regurgitate the same trash ideology you've been brainwashed by.
      You've said elsewhere toxic masculinity only exist in an echo chamber. Only right thing you've said, that echo chamber is feminism, it can only exist there because it's a fabricated lie they tell to stand on other human beings, outside that echo chamber it quickly evaporates because it has nothing solid to it.

      Feminism can't have its cake and eat it too, it can be for all issues it can claim to stand for gay men while simultaneous attack and ignore them. Then crying "But it's not about men". Feminists are the whiny spoiled brat This video is even an attack on a group that isn't about themselves, so what you just criticized me of is just a reflection of whats in this video, if any group refuses to see the world not even from a female perspective, but a feminist one, feminists want to bully them out of existence. The cognitive dissonance is unbelievable, and while I'd love to believe people like you are just this moronic I know from experience this is a willful act, you enjoy being so toxic and vile in your lives.
      And you lot as in the ones that follow the ideology, nice try at a gotcha but you absolutely failed, no hypocrisy found. Also of course if you are brainwashed you are going to be the same as a bunch of other brainwashed people....that's not hard to get.
      You're denying my criticism because you refuse to see anything but from your own singular perspective, you cannot deny this claim because you literally doing it right here all thoughout the comment section, if someone lives a different life to you, you refuse to acknowledge their existence and keep pushing the same totalitarian narrative (which does in fact make you a bigot, left or right wing, you are still the same bigoted bird). to call me a whiny spoilt brat for not bending knee to your toxic hate group that just exploits others is beyond ironic.
      More so to call me whiny when I left a comment here 10 months ago and you've come in and left what 50 or so in a day? Even just repeating the same thing. If anyone is whiny or throwing a tantrum here it's most definitely you.
      But hey keep ignoring your own toxicity, refusing to analyze it while claiming others refuse to acknowledge their toxicity....all you've done every single word is prove me right about what your ideology leads to, the toxicity, to exploitation, the willful ignorance, the neurotic narcissism, the utter selfishness (even forcing themselves the hypocrisy and the pathetic school yard bully mindset, along with the refusal to self reflect, which you all project on to everyone else and refuse to be a better group and be a change for good. you don't want these things, you only want what benefits yourselfs.
      Last time I'm replying to you, you have nothing of value to add even in defence of your own movement you seem to love, but as I said, just a group false activists that activism ends at thier comfort zone. Keep throwing your pointless tantrum at people who live lives outside your comfort zone, keep regurgitating the same tired nonsense pretending to be progressive, keep trying to brainwash people and abuse them with the same stockholm syndrome that was inflicted on you.

      I have no fucking idea what you think your point is, but here's mine: Both sides have extremists, and those elements have to be acknowledged by their community at large. But here's the main difference: if people discount MRA, or people who defend men's rights, it doesn't really affect the men at all, because the rest of society is set up to support them. If people ignore women's rights, then a lot of times they have absolutely no recourse because society marginalizes them.
      I'm actually kind of dumbfounded that you have the gall to say I'M the one incapable of self-reflection. You clearly have no self-awareness.

    • @caradogblaidd7977
      @caradogblaidd7977 7 лет назад +1

      Oh look a feminist playing ignorant because inspite of them accusing everyone else that they lack empathy they are the ones that refuse to think of anyone but themselves, even bully groups not about them out of existence. You're entire phrasing is dripping with bias and hypocrisy and trying to poison the well.
      >If people ignore women's rights, then a lot of times they have absolutely no recourse because society marginalizes them.
      Are you seriously saying this to a gay man, are you just plain stupid or just this delusional? Women at looked after first and foremost by society women have access to so many services men can't get. While women whinge about a tampon tax that doesn't exist and is in fact a tax break no other product gets, gay men can't even get access to a drug that prevents HIV in 100% of cases. Women have multiple resources to use which are all government funded (because thats a sure sign of people ignoring a group right, funding from government level and constantly providing them a platform no matter how many lies they tell) for sexual abuse while men have no government back groups at all the only one had it's funded cut and given to females focused charity years ago, in spite of female charities received the majority of funding anyway at like a ratio of 9:1, not unlike as they complain about the minority of police being dismissive of them it's the majority of police dismissing male victims of any crime (but they ensure it stays that way and doens't actually address issues of gender because it would threaten the status quo they have)...so endangered of being ignored and not catered for...but then again this is the same school of thought from the people who have cried misogyny at gay men having their own spaces and clubs, and have bullied and cried until these entitled princess can have their hen parties there, even though the majority of pubs and clubs actually pander to straight women anyway. And thanks to that now gay clubs are filled with straight men who get violent when hit on, on occassion...thanks for that feminism. Women get prefered treatment in most places, in spite of boys failing in schools and boys feeling like Uni isn't for them and they just need to go to work (Thats really what feminism wants all men down mines killing themselves as they sit in comfy chairs at CEO positions, thats the "equality" and end to the old status quo they want...sounds an awful lot like the old status quo though) it's still studies and funding being provide focusing on girls in Schools, and like you are doing here anytime any actually points out a group that is being ignored that isn't straight privileged females, they cry and bully them into silence. They literal stand against equality and obviously so do you.
      So shut up and go away you bigoted biased brainwashed brain dead moron. You've had nothing to add most of what you've said is just "nah uh your wrong" and you've said it over and over. You sit there and tell a gay men about groups that get marginalized by society as you ignore a marginalized group, you have no point, you are just a bigoted narcissistic brainwashed by a toxic hate group that deserves to be ignored as much as groups like TRP, probably more so since they are having a far more real and toxic and far reaching affect on society (while crying about being ignored).
      After that you've played your entire hand now and it's still comes up short it only shows you for how small minded and bigoted you are and all you claims earlier are only of your own inability to see any other group victimised by society.

      Seriously, who uses the argument of 'we're MORE oppressed, so their oppression is invalid'?

The concept is the movie, kind of like Andy Warhol's ''Empire'' (1964), an eight-hour stationary shot of the Empire State Building. You don't have to sit through the whole thing to get the point, unless you really want to.” The entire point of the video is established in the first 10 seconds, and I end up just bored and waiting 7 minutes for the film to end, as opposed to getting invested into any aspect of it. It's just a thing that hypes up the extremes of a counterpoint. Again, good direction, it's pretty well-put-together, but outside of that it's just kind of there.

      +Soupstorm They do say these things. I've spent hundreds if not over a thousand hours going to various anti-feminist sites and watching videos. This is common.
      I remember being in a MGTOW hangout. One of the participants suggested moving all men to an island and nuking the rest of the world. And that wasn't even the most extreme going-your-own-way plan I heard.

      +Frank Rauen That specific nukes one was almost a year ago in a private hangout. But I believe it was said by SexyMGTOW. Who I guess people might categorize as an MGTOW Monk, now. I haven't kept up with him.
      But stuff to look at in general? Taken In Hand Marriage, Vox Day, Rolo Talmasi (The Rational Male), Hawaiian Libertarian (ex-pat sexist), Ramzpaul, TheRedPill reddit, RooshV, Chateau Heartiste, and I could go on. The worse are the last three things I mentioned.

    I get it. I AGREE with the opinion. But this didn't do anything for me. I mean it didn't really do as advertised this didn't really explore anything. It just regurgitated it. In a kind of annoying way that outstayed it's welcome. It felt like propaganda rather than art.
    Dan's "React" video did pretty much the same thing (the difference being this is dangerous noise rather than pointless noise)

    • @orian57
      @orian57 8 лет назад +2

      +Frank Rauen well any idea believed strongly enough is dangerous. It's called extremism. Stuff like this that legitimises and downplays rape could lead to rape. You hear something often enough you start to believe it. And if enough people even only 'sort of' believe what they're saying it leads to a general atmosphere of distrust and hostility. We see this in victim blaming "why were you wearing that? What did you think would happen?"

    • @orian57
      @orian57 8 лет назад +3

      +Frank Rauen I disagree with you that victims become perpetrators. There's very little evidence for that, too.
      As I see it rape is about power, dominance. The whole red pill, mans rights professional misogyny movement is desperate to make rape permissible. And it's not, we agree on this I think. I perhaps wasn't clear, "what were you wearing" isn't causation but a symptom of this kind of thing.

    I watched the entire thing and I still don't really understand what the connection is between the concept of "red pilling," which is essentially just the embrace of more conservative ideas from people who used to be liberal, and "toxic masculinity" or MGTOWs. They're completely independent of each other, becoming more conservative doesn't equal a hatred of women, it's just adopting a right-leaning philosophy. This looked very nice and well put together despite all that. Cheers!

    • @alexvietzke6027
      @alexvietzke6027 6 лет назад +7

      kirbydeathgod A major section of the ‘redpilled’ community is built on the concept that embracing toxic masculinity and rape are O.K due to a natural fallacy. As a result, most major red pill figures have a large audience of self/world loathing teenagers and college students

      I doubt many of the "red pill" crowd were very liberal, or at least were very politically conscious liberals. it's kinda ... boring?
    you could've just made five shots progressively moving the camera away while the thoughts get more tangled, one shot at a weird angle while they combine into noice, and then the last scene with the breakdown from wide away. would've been two minutes, would've been just as effective (and paced a lot better).
    another problem is with the story: our protagonist is kinda just a straw man. he doesn't seem to have any individuality, no distinguishing features that might seem out of place, he's just a foil for the opinion the author wants to present. that is boring as fuck! well, it can be ok sometimes, but if your film is void of life and dictacted by theory, then that theory needs to be really fascinating and explored in depth. the theory behind this piece seems to be more along the lines of: "did you know that people adhering to toxic masculinity are just really really sad inside?" and unfortunately the answer is yes, I did know! in fact, every anime ever has got you beat on that part.
    the elements themselves aren't broken, I think. in fact, when the protagonist actually breaks down - well, I think that was a really gripping moment! trying to tell a slightly more sympathetic tale about people who fall down that toxic masculine rabbit hole is also kinda interesting and new! perhaps my second problem with this film is actually already a concession of that ... just needs to be explored better, is all ...
    anyways, my comment is already nearly 3 years behind schedule, so I'll stop writing now. bye (and have nice day!)

      Coops Dogg You know, the guy who made this video did a great dissection about why your point is bullshit over on his other channel Folding Ideas, in the episode on Gamergate. A hive movement can always claim that no 'true' member would act in a deplorable way, because there's no central narrative to the movement. That's a complete bullshit tactic, but it's interesting to analyse anyway.

    • @cythera3240

      It's not really a tearing-down of anything, strawman or otherwise. It's simply meant to be a snapshot of the effect and tone of the men's rights movements, and (as the description states) the pressures put on men within those movements. And while those movements have some good points, as somebody who used to be involved with them I can confidently say that this is an accurate portrayal.
