    Yup, this is the one. I'm running this as long as I can until I hit that rank wall. I'm a dino guy at heart.

    Great deck. I was thinking about making something similar, but I miss some cards. Why not 1 or 2 copies of Kogla and Yidaro?

    I've found that the trumpeting Carnosaur usually winds up being used for his removal in my games (my deck is different but has a lot of overlap with yours albeit as a straight gruul deck).
    Its very rare that i have the carnosaur in my hand with me sitting at 4 or 5 mana and he lives long enough for me to het to the 6th mana to out him int (I find inusually only get him out when ive already hit the 6 mana OR he hets discsrded to do some damage. He has belped me alot in the early games when all i need is 3 damage to takd dkmeone oit that my opponent planned on being monster they woild keep beefing up lol). Still recommend having him but be willing and ready to utilize his discard ability

    34:33 - maybe I'm missing something, but wouldn't Smuggler's Surprise for 6 be better here? Your opponent has no open blue mana, so you could've put both Vaultborn _and Topiary into play with the ability to refill your hand a bit without fear of a counter.

    • @thatvillainjay
      @thatvillainjay  5 месяцев назад +2

      You make a good point but...1. Didn't want lay my whole hand down into a board wipe 2. Like to save smugglers for a huge hit....topiary isn't worth it

      @@thatvillainjayfair points, and your end board proves that holding the Surprise was the right decision. That said, I think it would be a tough decision to make in the moment.
      Also just hit the point where you were talking about Phyrexians and gender. One thing about the topic that I always found fascinating was that Phyrexians didn't really have a concept of gender until Karn (a golem with no real biological sex) brought them back during the Scars block story. Even though Yawgmoth was originally human, as were the first generation of Phyrexians as the novel _The Thran_ documents, most Phyrexians didn't have any gender identity (outside of rare instances of either compleated organics like Ertai and the evincars of Rath, or unique creatures like Tsabo Tavoc who were specifically created to identify as a certain gender); Xantcha, a rogue sleeper that allied with Urza for a while, even notes that they don't comprehend the difference, just that it's easier for them to present as female even though that doesn't actually describe them. Maybe it had to do with Yawgmoth's contempt for organic weakness and his tendencies towards eugenical thinking, but I've just always thought it was interesting that the Phyrexians spawned by a biologically sexless being were the ones who started affecting gender identities for themselves.

      Yes it's fascinating to see them mimic organics for the sole purpose of style. Like solphim is a giant made out of steel and molten metal and is a "her" for no other reasons than she feels like it. I love it
