Everyone cracking up with the Sultai Ultimatum steal and here I am laughing like a maniac at the Thought Distortion play against the Aragorn deck where you cleaned their entire hand while you talked how usually these decks have a lot of creature spells, that was perfect comedic timing.
I also did it sometime and it gives a feeling of great satisfaction! It's game breaking like a River's Rebuke.

Heist feels like such a mistake from a design perspective. Not discounting the aspect of playing your opponent's spells, the fact you get to see 3 nonland cards and choose one means you're also steadily leaving your opponent with nothing but lands and other unimpactful spells.
I don't know, might just be my opinion but I suspect they're going to need to nerf this mechanic in the near future.
Heist is absolutely a mistake!
I doubt it’s that bad. Card you can get from your opponent’s deck might not suit to yours and sometimes you want lands rather than nonlands you might not even use.
@@user-bk2zd3fr7v right and there so few heist card available that it can't significantly affect the opponent ratio of lands.
Pretty sure there were already cards with similar effects, but yes, Grenzo feels really busted because it's a repeatable effect and you also get to play the cards for free.
It's totally fine, the only real issue is grenzo making it free

While I do think Grenzo is probably too strong, its also made worse by the fact that so many people just load up on 'generic good stuff' that makes Heist so strong. The better your deck is, the more stuffed it is with just generic good value, the most heist punishes you. The more a deck is based around a theme, the less heist does. Grenzo is too strong since he plays it for 0, so just natural value so long as you get something that advances your game state just for playing him and going forward, but if you were to heist a Scry deck, or an etb token deck, or something like that, its a lot less overwhelming.

Locus of Rage is so good. I remember running it in my RG eldrazi ramp deck. It was one of my non eldrazi win cons. Man I miss those days.
I love how she makes Arena look fun, but "free Eldrazi" has too many slots on the Alchemy team's dartboard.
That emergent ultimatum play cracked me up. Turn about is fair play indeed!
This deck is such a blast to play! This might be the first deck that I truly enjoy games against The First Sliver with. They have a lot of fun spells to steal and play for free! :D

I think I went 23-4 with this before matchmaking had enough of my antics - what a fun deck, now with slightly more fair matchups

That's why I hate alchemy. It is broken like hell.
Among the theft decks (Etrata, Gonti, etc) I think Grenzo's FREE STUFF is powerful as hell, but I still prefer Jasper because he's funnier. I could steal like 14 useless cards face down and the opponent would scoop just because having a massive temporary hand looks scary.

Im such a hater, IRL you snag my cards Im always "Thats an awesome card, using it with that artifact you got is going to be devastating lol" I smile and play moves on. Online though? I get so unbelievably mad, I need to get better about it. Wonder if its the anonymity.
It's hard to be 'playful' when stealing cards online. In paper, you can get much sillier with it
@@Amazonian I think the attempt to curb online bullying swung too far into un-interactivity.... but wait as I write this I just had a second Ragavan deck in a row, so I kinda understand it, because the words Id have for the second player.... many MANY words..... 😅
It wasnt even the fact that it was my first two games and a second Rag player in a row. It was the roping each turn, Im like "You gotta one drop commander, homebanana, goo000OOOOO"
I got him in a draft and he won me all three games I played him practically on the spot
Not gonna lie, all that "heist" stuff from Alchemy is funny and entertaining as a spectator (kinda like Hearthstone stuff), but I refuse to play against it, it's so toxic and frustrating, it's now in the list of match up I insta give up in the hell queue ^^

Please do Taii Wakeen, Perfect Shot. The replacement effect is fun to play around with. The red defiler is an all star in the deck.
