    Great video as always. Thanks. After watching your channel I also put a Creamback neo in my dsl40c. I like my amp so much better now. Do you have vintage or modern wiring in that Les Paul? I'm having trouble getting that thin nasal (in a good way) Peter Greenish/Gary Moorish bridge pickup sound on my Les Paul Faded.

      Thanx Jesper. I have the vintage style wiring in my Les Pauls. The Neo Cream has worked out great in this amp.

    Fantastic playing, phrasing and tone 👏

    Great playing, very tasteful! I bought this amp a week ago, and I'm in an apartment building, I've been VERY impressed with it's performance at lower volume, the ONLY downside I see is compared to my super champ ×2, the reverb is rather weak, it's plush and sounds good, but pretty much useless for "surf sound" type stuff, no biggie I'll just put a reverb pedal in front of it...any other reverb tricks you've used with the amp, I'd greatly appreciate you sharing with me! Cheers! Keep on jammin'

      Thanks John, Agreed that the reverb isn't the greatest on the amp, I don't use it. If I used a reverb pedal, I'd definitely put it last in the FX Loop. Cheers!

      I sometimes use a Marshall Echohead in the loop or Marshall Reflector pedal. Cheers.

    Hey Jim! What a nice tone 😄 I wanted to ask you if the dsl40C is too loud for a bedroom ina a flat? I am thinking to buy this amp, am afraid though that my neighbours will not be very happy cause of the volume 😅 or would you recommend a smaller amp? Thanks a lot in advance and keep up with the good work🤘🏻🤘🏻

      Hi Julien,
      I’ve practiced with mine in the bedroom and the master volume works great for low volume playing. Thanx!

      Julien Christen Put this amp in 20 watt mode, better tone at lower volumes.

    That sounded great!
    I have been searching for my 1st tube amp for quite some time now ... you might have just sealed it for me. However, DSL 20 is more inline with my wattage needs.
    My problem has been that I listen to blues/classic rock/hard rock and I can't find a versatile amp that can do the range of clean to crunch tones well.
    How does it take the standard fare pedals ... transparent ODs, wahs, delays, etc.?
    Thanks.

      @JimmyBurkard  6 лет назад

      sbadali1 Thanks. I’ve played many cover gigs with the styles you mentioned with this amp. It handles pedals like a champ and the loop is great, too.

    • @sbadali1
      @sbadali1 6 лет назад

      Thanks Jimmy . Do you mainly utilize the Classic Crunch channel?

    • @JimmyBurkard
      @JimmyBurkard  6 лет назад

      sbadali1 When I first got it I did. Then I started using the lead channel with the gain around 1 o’clock and rolling the guitar volume down for cleans. I don’t need “clean” cleans and don’t care for switching to a clean channel on any amp.

      Hey Jimmy - this jam puts a smile on my face every time I watch it.
      I went ahead and purchased the DSL20, and I am in the process of finding/tweaking the right tones.
      I have a few questions given your experience with the DSLs.
      - The DSL-20's Clean Channel does not have a "Crunch" option; what pedals would you recommend in order to generate that cleanish-boost/crunch we hear in the video?
      - The DSL-20 has a Celestion 70/80, and I am thinking about a future swap ... do you think a Neo Creamback is suitable for the DSL-20 or should I be thinking Greenbacks?
      - Have you run a Fulltone OCD in front of your DSL ... any settings here you prefer?
      Rock on and thanks for everything you do!

    Nice video! do you feel that the speaker swamp for creamback cut off those high end on the ultra channel?? In my amp I feel the ultra channel brighter and with much more treble than the classic channel.. do you feel like changing the speaker balances things out?
    Thanks keep it up! \m/

    • @JimmyBurkard

      Joao Nuno Thanks Joao,
      The speaker swap does help tame the high end. 🤘

      @JoaoNuno1995 5 лет назад

      @@JimmyBurkard thanks for the info! It will tame the high end in both channels of more in the ultra channel (where i feel there is more treble high end)...

      Joao Nuno It helps with both. Takes away some of the high fizzy stuff.

    • @JimmyBurkard

      Ethan K No pedals and there is a Celestion Neo Creamback in it. The MCP Hot Head pickup in the bridge is about 15k ohms, A5. It hits the front end pretty good. Neck is a Manlius HR59, can’t remember if it has A5 or A2 magnet, it’s just slightly overwound.
