As someone who has too many magic books, partially due to this channel(can you say Nick Trost boys and girls), I wholeheartedly admit I have a book problem. I'm literally a hobbyist who only performs for family. I have this character flaw where I have to go in a certain order and cannot deviate. For example I'm still on my starter book Royal Road. Honestly if I had just purchased this book alone it would have been enough for a lifetime of wonderful card tricks. However as you touched upon I like to plan ahead and say well I will move to Card College next. Plus with magic books you can always revisit and discover something new you might have missed. I'm literally spending 6 months studying RRCM with meticulous detail. I don't perform an effect unless I've practiced it for at least 2 weeks. Even the simpler tricks. It's literally my bible right now. I'm a captive to this book. Long story short I love this channel. Thank you.
I'm on my third read through of The Particle System. This is the pass I take notes on tricks I will not do and choose the two tricks I'm willing to work on.
Thank you for the lovely video essay. The tips and strategies will certainly be helpful for many. And great choice in visual aids. I love the Artful Mentalism collection and Paramiracles especially.
I just read a magic book from my library that catches my eye.I absolutely luv card magic in particular and will read all the books I have on N.Trost./P.Gordon and J.Bannon over and over again.I am a hobbyist so I get immense satisfaction from being able to understand and perform the card tricks.The wonderful imagination of the people that invent these tricks astounds me.For me card magic ( and magic in general)is a passion,a joy and a superb hobby.What more could you want!Cheers Jeff.

I think the advice I needed most was the permission to put down my current read and pick up another book. I've just been too nurotic to do anything other than one book at a time, cover to cover. And it can slow me down when I hit one that isn't my favorite.
It's a blessing to have a big library with unread books imo. I like knowing that I can read and learn something new every day.
