Reading, a drug addiction without harm to self or others. In an increasingly noisy world, reading gives the blessed gift of silence.
How ?
This is an amazing comment 💯
just something you enjoy doing my friend
Love the video dude. I am absolutely in love with reading. I wish more of my friends would pick up a book. Theyre too busy deep frying their brain with tik tok
As a reader, i see this as an absolute win
READING HAS CHANGED MY LIFE FOR EVER !
Thank you so much for this 👑👑📚📚🔥🔥
Since I started reading books my life changed and now I feel so calm and happy. I will continue to read books for rest of my life.
Same 😊
I've been reading scientific books and romans for quite a while. I have a small collection for now, but it's a drug! I always smell the pages of the fresh new books. When I read romans, I imagine scenes like watching a movie, and sometimes I even smell what I read. The knowledge sticks and the way they are presented in books are like a map guiding yourself in learning. It also helped approach a reader with whom I share quite the taste of books.
PS. I prefer hardcover rather than paperback, and I dislike Kindle because I like collecting books and holding them when they're brand new, even if it's expensive.
Reading --- increase sense of purpose
I love reading. I can read books all day, I don't need any phone Or facebook
I agree with you. Reading beats all else. I’m calmer and more relaxed. Social media facebook are things I don’t even have now.
Nice to know I got a green-glowing brain from reading these books
I started to see some of these benefits reading a novel called the beginning after the end. It’s pretty awesome to feel the difference reading makes
I might have missed it but you didn't mention how reading can help us find out things about ourselves we didn't know, or how it can help us to understand others by exposing us to different kinds of thinking. This can help us to empathize with those we might otherwise not have.
I've recently been interested in being a English or Reading teacher, as id like to make clear how Reading can be fun and you get so many benefits from it.
RUclips algorithm is broken, your videos are so useful and top quality, top notch, I could say, and yet you have so few subscribers, it's a big shame, but don't give up, keep up the quality work, and maybe that one day, The Mighty RUclips Algorithm, will become favorable to you.
Wow, thank you!
Only those with coin, connections, crews, clout, computer code, control, communities, and opportunities will be able to climb up through the algorithmic jungle. That's just how it is. Marketing is all that matters in 202x. Is this sad and pathetic? *YES*. But it's what XiXiPi, TT, and other wealthy corporations wanted. Thus, so mote it be.
I don't think RUclips wants to spread that knowledge.
Istg I thought the same thing I'm shocked how a channel like this with only 500 subscribers I thought there was a mistake it might be thousands, not hundreds
Not always. The algorithm directed me here as a suggestion, so…. 👍🏽

A wonderful video on the joys & benefits of reading books. I used to read on a regular basis, but allowed life to distract me from that vital part of my day. Now that I'm retired there's no excuse for not reading & I intend to share this video with as many people as I can. Thank you for reawakening a pastime that somehow faded in my life.
I love Reading and so as I love your shared insights too 🙏
Number 14 is definitely needed in today's society. When I was younger I was in LD classes my reading ability was years behind. About 20 years ago I was in an accident that put me in a wheelchair for many months. I had watched so much TV I got sick of it and decided to read a book instead. Soon I fell in love with something I hated for so long, (reading), now I read books that are for intellectuals, like The Iliad or Dostoevsky or Pushkin, Nietzsche but I also like simple but powerful books like The Little Prince. I have a library of books. 20 so far not much but they are books I love.
Wow, your journey with reading is truly inspiring!
Yes :) . Great video, great voice, keep them coming!
Thank you for the tips. I increased sense of my purpose, but I'm in a real crunch for time.

So True when I was in school I hated reading didn’t know why? but it was because of the school system that made it that way. I love reading books and articles on programming and AI.😊😊😊🥰🥰🥰
Making something obligatory is how they made you hate it if you were forced to watch TV you'd get sick of it
Same here, but when I got out of school I discovered the true joy of reading books because I chose them (instead of being forced to read a particular book by the school system).
I love to read.
Im Reading right now the Darkest legacy from the Darkest minds series I’m at 102/103
We live in an era where current movies, tv shows, and video games are complete dog 💩. Ive been reading more thanks to modern media and entertainment.
You gotta new sub from india bro ❤

This may sound strange...
But I loved the moviè..
NEVER ENDING STORY.
The transition from reading a book..a boy jumps into the book and it becomes real..that's the way I feel when I get into where te book leads..
I like to feel like I am there not just reading words on a page...
I gives me a thrill..
Anyway...

Do all these benefits apply to Kindle ??
very good video!!
Glad you liked it!
I'm reading in cellphone I download the books like john maxwell book
Do you know if this only applies to paper books, or also to books on electronic devices such as kindle or a phone?
I prefer paper books, and many people I know get too distracted reading on electronic devices to actually read, and I'm trying to find info on the benefits of reading paper books. Thanks.
I've found studies on google about the benefits of reading paper books and the down sides of reading ebooks and on a phone. It will help me make points I'm trying to make with a few people offline.
Paper books improving test scores and creating a tangible, emotional connection, and more, vs e devices causing sleep disturbance, eye strain, lower retention of information read, and much more.
Thanks for sharing this video. It got me thinking, and got me motivated to investigate further.
@@ThePrairieChronicles That's fantastic to hear!
@@ThePrairieChronicles >>👍🏿❗( NOT - Good!!!)
THIS needs to be on the front page of RUclips. Not Beyoncé twerking on stage or some deceptive family channel showing off their 20 cars from scamming their viewers through super chat 😄.
How does this just appearead now when i already have exams.
Yo this shit is fire
Can you write all the numbers (with time stamps if possible). In description or comments
Gonna show this video every time my students complain when they have to read a book in the first 10 minutes of my classes
Lol
the only problem this vid has is that most of these are mainly for fiction, overall great video!
Still applies. To each their own.
I read books whenever I have some leisure. But is it acceptable to read without understanding or forget what you read as soon as your book ends?
As someone who was reading "The structure of scientific revolutions" - a geographical academic book, I assure you not many would immediately understand, just like me, that's why I try to understand what this author is trying to mean, and the new academic words are a real challenge for it
That’s why you have another sheet writing the summary of every chapter so you can remember the whole book w/o opening the book
iam again here from my download 11/3/24
what mens about ''intriguing plots''?
Plots that keep you curious and make you want to keep reading.
sheesh crazy how reading is a lost art that its turned into mental medicine
Does this also include audiobooks?
No you gotta read them yourself
b
What’s some of your favorite books? I’m tryna get my bookshelf filled
Hey! I'm so glad you're looking to fill your bookshelf. Here are some of my favorite books:
1. Atomic Habits by James Clear
2. The Art of Focus by Dan Koe
3. Declutter Your Mind by S.J. Scott
4. How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie
5. Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
I hope you find these suggestions helpful! Happy reading! 📚😊
@@sam_0fficial appreciate you those are my kind of books
I can't believe this guy got 1k subs only
Because dumb people dont read.
✨👌🏻💖
Does this work with audiobooks?
Whether you prefer traditional books or audiobooks, the key is to enjoy the process of absorbing information and expanding your knowledge.
@@sam_0fficial :D
@@sam_0fficial So, RUclips is fine?
Listening/Watching is good but Reading is better.
If you start reading a book, try reading one page or half a page.😅
Number 15: Burger King foot lettuce
👍☺️👍
Hmm I wonder if web comics have any of these benefits.
Anybody recommend some good science fiction?
It depends on what you like. I mostly prefer older sci-fi (books written before 1980). The Foundation Trilogy (Asimov), The Robot Trilogy (Asimov), Starshiptroopers (Heinlein), The Illustrated man (short stories by Ray Bradbury), 2001: A Space Odyssey (Clark), Childhood's End (Clark), Dune (Herbert), Ender's Game (Card), The Moon is a Harsh Mistress (Heinlein), Brave New World (Huxley), The Space Trilogy (C.S. Lewis). Happy reading.
Must be nice, I read every night before bed and I suffer from alot of the things listed here that reading is said to improve. I'm reading actual books too, not comments on social media, I dont do social media at all. Just finished the 3rd book in the old mans war series, wasn't as good as the first 2 imo.
Yurr
Man is made to read the Bible and enjoy of its benefits.
Instead of improving my sleep, I only get hooked up more of what I'm reading 😂
Start reading earlier!
@s.j.5850 there's school everyday, homeworks, researches. I only get day offs sometimes
Literature is my dementia preventia program.
Got my mother reading again, no dementia for her, I think.

やさしです!
I’m your first subscriber 😊
Read Harry Potter and stay away from the merchandise
Who cares if it sounds old-fashioned? 🙃
As an award-winning author, I've always been able to detect when an individual has been an avid reader of legitimately intelligent content... or not. It's not difficult; it takes me maybe 6-12 minutes of conversation with someone to determine it. Unfortunately, you can probably guess how often I encounter someone who is actually, truly intelligent and educated. 🙄
Why is it unfortunate that I can probably guess?
Just let people read the things they want man not every book has to be “legitimately intelligent”
Being an award winning author has nothing to do with it lol. You can tell if someone is an avid reader of “intelligent content” based on the type of language they use when they’re speaking to you, the way they craft their responses to a question. Good writers are very anecdotal in their writing and provide complex responses to thought provoking questions which avid readers will pick up on.
You sound annoying and conceited as fuck.
Hey man, you sound like an ass. Maybe reading more will help you develop empathy!
I swear these creators slow their audio by 25% to get longer videos, it sounds way more natural at 1.25x
